Savage

I just realized this. This thing is 50 foot tall, has a hardened carbon "shell" and is pretty much muscle and bone.

So exactly how is it lighter than the friggin Screamer? Sure it may be quite thin, but still. It should be 4-5 tons at the very least. Probably even 7. Just look at Clocky's 10 ton Mongoose. Right now, even a 50 foot Titanoboa is heavier than this thing.

I'd have him change it if he was ever around, DG.

Er... why? I have a flea on me that keeps biting me, but... off topic.

I doubt that, DG. the average adult human weight is 137 pounds, and the average height is 6 foot. If we scale this six foot version up to 50 feet it should be about half a ton, but let's add that again since its muscular. Three tons.

Uhh, Flish? Do you know exactly how scaling up works? Think of it. IF your method was right, an Elephant would likely weigh only 2 tons. A real elephant can reach over 8. It's not because something's twice as tall, it's twice as heavy. If the two creatures have the same body build, the larger one is going to be more than twice as heavy.

"But how does that make sense?" You could say. To be honest, the answer is quite simple. Height/Length/Width all expand into one direction. Mass, at the other hand, expands into all three directions. However, the math for scaling things up is really difficult to explain. What I gave was just a rough estimate, using creatures of similar proportions as example. If you want a more precise estimate for it's weight, I recommend looking up exactly how to estimate weight by scaling up. Then scaling up a human to Savage size, and then adding another ton to that with all the muscle and silicon armor.

It's been years sense I made the savage; the original design was nothing like this. In all honesty I didn't put much consideration into the weight, I just went with a number that sounded good.

I'll happily change it though. Suggestions anyone?

Well, considering muscle is heavy, and I'm fairly certain diamond is too, I'll round it up to 10 tons.

Making Savage a heavy weight shouldn't hurt.

Well for some reason I've always pictured Savage as a Scout. But making it a Heavy will make it 20% cooler.
