Which air intake would be a good choice for a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with the 5.3L V8? I want something that looks nice & performs well. Any suggestions?

There's alot of good ones out there. Personally I like Volant alot. Gen 1 Performance along with other places are having trouble keeping their intakes especially your part # needed in stock. You've always have got the good 'ol trusty K&N. Let's see what Dustin recommends.

If your going for looks plus performance. There is no doubt about it go with the AEM Brute Force. It's avaliable in a polished or powder-coated silver finishes. Now they have the "Dry-Flow" filters which means even more simplicity, simply cleans & no oils to mess with, unlike regular cotton-gauze intakes. This is personally my favorite brand. Volant is great, but they don't look as good. Have you ever installed an air intake? If so it's really simple & they come with great instructions. I'll post up the price I can do for one along with a pic & power improvements. Oh yeah these things work wonders for gas mileage. In a big truck with gas prices these days you need all what you can get.

Ok the price for that part is $225.00. AEM don't say the exact power gains on that intake, but it's probally around 10 HorsePower. Here's some pics the assembles one is polished & the disassembled one is the silver. They're the same price for either. Oh and all of them come with the white dry-flow filter.

That intake looks good. I think I'm going to get one as soon as Dustin gets me a price. I don't know if I want polished or silver though. Which one are you getting?
