I understand that it can be a little overwhelming joining a new board with so many things going on, so this guide is designed to help you fit the puzzle pieces into place. If you've any questions, you can always ask any member of staff points to the list in the sidebar or any one of our helpful members in the cbox. I'd Like to Join! Awesome! Hi! Your first step here is to read the rules, familiarize yourself with the plot and maybe check out a few other things in this forum. You can see the taken portrayals and the canon list, if you were interested in such a role. There are also adoptable characters available, which have been created by members missing someone in their plot. When you've decided on what kind of character you're making (canon, original or adoptable), post an application in the Pending applications forum and wait for a staff member to get back to you. Yay! I've been accepted. What now? Your application's been moved to the Denizens forum and you're set to go. There's a few things you might want to do - plot pages are a good start to keep track of your relationships. Posting in the Thread Me Up section is a great place to go - you can get your character immersed in the city there. All that can be achieved here. There sure are a lot of character extras ... Yes. Yes there are. This is to accommodate the world outside face-to-face roleplaying, which is quite common at GC. The character extras on GC are: Snail Mail: letterboxes and the like. This is a major plot point with the Libertines, you're encouraged to make one for your character to be included. Telephone: Now there are two here: one for text and voicemail messages, one for actual phone conversations. You can post a thread for your phone in the first and partake in conversation in the second. Email: Self-explanatory. Online Chat: The online world inside the online world. Wow. Trippy. Journals/Photo Albums: post pictures, diary entries, etc. Thread Trackers: A good way to keep an eye on where you need to post. So ... what now? Roleplaying! You can start a new thread in one of the forums, or join an existing one. Please remember that unless it states in the subject line that it's open, you should ask permission from those involved if it's OK for you to join. You can see a list of open threads here. The fastest way to see other characters are at GC is to check the two character directories. They each have brief info on each part with a link to their bio for more info. You can find one directory with the canons and the other in the original character directory. Well, apart from the obvious thing you came here for - roleplaying - we'd love to get to know you better in the OOC forum, where there are games and chatter.
