Robin: Any changes in Dr. Hunter's condition?

Patrick: No, not yet. He's got a long road ahead of him, too. Pain management, multiple surgeries for skin grafts.

Robin: And head trauma, too?

Patrick: I'm only supposed to be consulting on this case, but it's hard to be objective. Every time I look at him, I just see myself.

Jax: What happened to the staff managers meeting?

Marty: It was pushed back.

Jax: By whom?

Carly: By me. We should talk.

Maxie: Spinelli, I know you mean well, but this idea could seriously crash and burn.

Spinelli: The Valkyrie is most distressed over the recent dissolution of her marriage. I'm -- I'm just trying to elevate her spirits with -- by providing a prospective suitor.

Maxie: Online?

Spinelli: This website guarantees matches via 25 potential points of compatibility.

Maxie: Well, if physical attraction isn't one of them, the rest are a waste of time.

Spinelli: Does Maximista believe romance can't blossom between two individuals that begin as friends?

Maxie: Spinelli, sexual compatibility is so important. How can you get that from an online dating service?

Jason: Okay, you're -- you're not signing me up on a dating service.

Johnny: Lulu.

Lulu: Johnny!

Anthony: You missed breakfast. What's the matter? You don't want to have a meal with me?

Claudia: I think a little distance between us is healthy, Daddy. Don't you?

Anthony: Nonsense. We're one big happy family again. Johnny is a free man. We're back to business as usual.

Claudia: Which would be my cue to leave the room.

Anthony: Not this time. I got plans for you, Claudia.

Claudia: What sort of "plans" do you have in store for me, Daddy?

Anthony: I watched you lie through your teeth up there on the witness stand. You were good. You saved Johnny. For your own reasons, I'm sure, but I'm still grateful.

Claudia: Well, I didn't do it for you. I did it for Johnny.

Anthony: We're a family, Claudia. What benefits one, benefits all of us. By saving your brother, you did the whole family a great service, and you'll be rewarded.

Claudia: I don't want your reward.

Anthony: Don't be so hasty. Ah, the gang's all here, the brilliant attorney and his worthless father. Lady and gents, it's time to shake this town up.

Lulu: You're free. I can't even believe it.

Johnny: I was so worried about you.

Lulu: I just needed to know that you're okay, and you are. I'm sorry that I went to pieces on the stand.

Johnny: It's over.

Lulu: I just thought that I could save you, and I made everything worse.

Johnny: The jury believed Claudia when she said that I killed Logan in self-defense.

Lulu: I know. Nikolas told me, and I am not a big fan of your sister, but she showed how much she loves you.

Johnny: She was great. She convinced the jury that I was only trying to protect her, and, as far as anyone else knows, you were never there.

Lulu: You took such a big chance for me.

Johnny: And it paid off. Now we need to focus on getting you better.

Lulu: I already am. I can feel it. Thanks to my mom.

Johnny: Your mom?

Maxie: Signing you up for online dating? That would be interesting.

Jason: Okay, before this gets out of control, like my nonexistent affair with Karpov's attorney, you both need to understand that my personal life is off limits.

Spinelli: Okay, with all due respect, Stone Cold, this actually doesn't --

Maxie: Jason, the world doesn't revolve around you. Not that it would do any good signing you up for online dating. I mean, what would we list as your hobbies? "Cleans guns" and "shoots people"? If you want to be miserable and alone for the rest of your life, that's your problem. Spinelli and I, we're going help out someone who would be a little more appreciative.

Jason: Who?

Maxie: Carly.

Nikolas: Hey, you're awake.

Nadine: I just woke up a minute ago, right before you.

Nikolas: How are you feeling?

Nadine: Could have been worse. I could have been fried and served for dinner. Aunt Rayleen used to say that about chickens on a hot day. Never mind.

[Laughs and coughs]

Nadine: I must be on some serious pain meds or something.

Nikolas: I'm just glad you're okay.

Nadine: How could I not be? You dragged me from under a collapsed ceiling through a raging fire, held my hand through my crying jag, and then apparently stayed the night. Talk about your full-service hero.

Nikolas: Yeah. Well, you know, you're -- you're important to me.

Nadine: I'm glad you think so. Or - I mean -- that -- well -- it -- I appreciate that.

Nikolas: It's okay. You're welcome.

Alexis: I want you to talk to forensics and the fire marshall, because I want to find out how that clinic burned.

Lucky: Nikolas worked very hard to get that built so he could help people in Emily’s name.

Alexis: All the more reason why he didn't cut corners. I doubt that they're going to find any evidence of an electrical fire.

Lucky: Well, we're looking into arson, all right? I just don't understand why anybody would want to burn down a free clinic.

Alexis: Neither can I, but he's had clashes with the mayor and the damn HMO’S. It could be sabotage.

[Knock at door]

Alexis: Hey.

Sam: Hi.

Alexis: Hi.

Lucky: I'll get right on it.

Alexis: Okay I take it you haven't worked things out with him.

Sam: No, no. You know what? It's probably for the best anyway.

Alexis: I'm sorry. I really am. Do you miss him?

Sam: I guess. I mean, maybe, a little bit. But you know what? In all honesty, I think he's probably better off with an uncomplicated woman like Elizabeth.

Alexis: As opposed to you?

Sam: You know what, Mom? Sometimes you don't realize how destructive a relationship is until you're out of it.

Robin: I'm a bit surprised with your sudden empathy for Dr. Hunter. You never noticed him before, except to fight with him.

Patrick: He's egocentric, arrogant, way too impressed with his own brilliance.

Robin: Sounds like somebody else I know.

Patrick: He's competitive. He lacks people skills, and he pushes the envelope just to prove how good he is.

Robin: Which is exactly like you -- when we first met, of course.

Patrick: You know, if it was me in there with multiple burns, possible head trauma, not sure what kind of recovery I'd make, and putting my surgical career on the line --

Robin: What?

Patrick: I don't know if I'd want to recover.

Jason: The last thing Carly needs is a bunch of strangers coming on to her over the internet.

Maxie: I think you know nothing about women.

Spinelli: Actually, Stone Cold is quite knowledgeable on the subject of the distaff gender.

Maxie and Jason: The what?

Spinelli: Women. They're drawn to Stone Cold like moths to a flame.

Maxie: So, he's hot, but he doesn't know what women feel or want.

Jason: Okay, this -- this is about Carly.

Maxie: Yeah, and when a woman has had her heart stomped on, nothing makes her feel better than some hot, eligible men hitting on her.

Spinelli: Not to rule out males with a more steadfast, you know, nature with loyalty and intelligence, if somewhat substandard physical prowess.

Maxie: This would be good for Carly.

Jason: No, it wouldn’t.

Maxie: Do you think you could rustle up some support for your friend Spinelli?

Jason: Okay, how -- how am I not supporting Spinelli?

Maxie: Well, this whole internet dating thing was his idea.

Spinelli: If Stone Cold thinks it's detrimental --

Maxie: I was a little iffy about it at first, but now I'm thinking, hey, can't be that bad.

Jason: Okay, you've got to understand that when Carly is going through something like this, she can make some crazy choices. She could hook up with some guy who's a psycho or abusive. Think.

Spinelli: I just -- I wanted to aid the heartbroken Valkyrie, not place her in jeopardy.

Jason: Good. Maybe you can find some other way to help her.

Maxie: Don’t. Who put you in charge of anyone's dating life?

Jax: Marty, could you give us a second?

Marty: Sure.

Jax: I thought I made myself pretty clear at the hospital.

Carly: Yeah, you wanted Jerry to take you home. It hurt, but I didn't fight you on it, okay?

Jax: Then please accept that our marriage is over.

Carly: I realize that I trashed what we had, and if I could take it back, I would.

Jax: Carly, talking about it only makes it hurt more for both of us.

Carly: Well, you know what? We co-own two hotels together, this one and the one in Montréal. Like it or not, our lives intersect. We have to find a way to deal with each other.

Max: Poor Mrs. C. I mean, Carly. She's really hurting bad right now.

Diane: All of this could have been avoided if you had simply told Kate that Sonny and Carly had had sex when I suggested you do so.

Max: It wasn't my place to tell her.

Diane: You're implication being that it also wasn't mine?

Max: Okay, it wasn't, and if you wouldn't have pushed it, we wouldn't have been talking about it. And if we wouldn't have been talking about, Clarice would have never over heard us, opened up her big mouth to Kate, and nobody would have been the wiser right now.

Nikolas: When will the doctor be in to check up on her?

Elizabeth: Dr. Fox just started his rounds. Your vitals look good, but how are you feeling?

Nadine: A little tired, but I'm okay.

Nikolas: Will she need any more -- any more tests or anything like that?

Elizabeth: Well, that's for the doctor to decide. Don't worry. She's doing well.

Nikolas: Thanks. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have jumped in like that. You're perfectly capable of asking your own questions.

Nadine: Well, it's kind of nice to be fussed over. So, feel free.

Nikolas: Oh, well, okay. If you insist, let me just --

[Nadine laughs]

Nadine: Thank you.

Jerry: Sorry to intrude.

Nikolas: What do you want?

Jerry: Well, I've heard about the news of -- about the fire, and it must have been terrifying.

Nadine: Nikolas pulled me out before I got burned.

Jerry: Oh, that's good. I'm pleased to hear it.

Nikolas: I'm sorry, you don't even know her. Why would you come here to check up on her?

Jerry: Well, truth be told, I feel rather guilty. I -- I'm -- I just hope the fire is not tied to the fact that I gave you information about the prospective shipment of counterfeit drugs.

Nikolas: Do you suspect someone?

Jerry: No, no, nothing concrete, but it's not unheard of for an arsonist to get caught in his own fire.

Nikolas: If you're suggesting that she had something to do with this --

Jerry: No, no, no. I assumed there were other people in the clinic. I mean, did anyone else have a reason to be there?

Robin: You were called to consult on the case, not take it over.

Patrick: Someone's got to make decisions on his treatment.

Robin: I assume the family's been notified?

Patrick: Yeah, they went over his records when he was admitted, and there is no next of kin.

Robin: No family at all?

Patrick: No. It says "mother deceased," and he didn't list any other family members.

Robin: Hmm. We'll have to wait until he wakes up to get the information.

Patrick: I would rather not. He's in bad shape now. He's only going to get worse.

Robin: I might know someone that could help.

Anna: Hello.

Noah: Hey.

Anna: Wow, how are you? Well, it's good to see you.

Noah: You look beautiful, as usual.

Anna: Thank you. When did you get back?

Noah: About an hour ago.

Anna: All right. Well, Doctors without Borders is very lucky to have you. So, where were you this time?

Noah: Myanmar. Want to sit down?

Anna: Sure.

Noah: There was a cyclone that flattened everything. It was unbelievable, unbelievable. I was really happy to be there to help, but I'm real glad to be home. Any fireworks while I was gone?

Anna: Oh, where to start? There was a marriage proposal here, a speedy refusal, and then this sort of internet campaign, which ended very abruptly when Robin thought that maybe she was going into labor.

Noah: Is the baby all right?

Anna: Yeah, yeah, fine. It was a false alarm. Our granddaughter is going to arrive right on time.

Noah: Wow. I know Patrick sent me an email that it was going to be a little girl, that's just -- it's so great.

Anna: It is.

Noah: I mean, he'll find his own way as a parent, you know?

Anna: Yeah. I mean, they both will. Robin is very excited to be a mom, but let's face it; she doesn't have a clue about what's coming.

Noah: Yeah.

Anna: I mean, you know, it's sort of better that way, because then they don't have any preconceived ideas, right?

Noah: Yeah, I was kind of worried that they'd have a boy and history would repeat itself, you know? Patrick would, you know, damage his son's childhood the way I damaged Patrick’s.

Maxie: You're bullying Spinelli into thinking he's making a horrible mistake.

Jason: You -- what are you talking about? I just told him not to sign Carly up on an online dating service.

Maxie: Who says you get to dictate what Spinelli does or doesn't do for Carly?

Spinelli: Maximista need not rally to the Jackal's defense so vociferously.

Maxie: I'll be as vociferous as I please. Just because Spinelli and Carly put up with you, doesn't mean you get to dictate their love lives.

Jason: Okay, fine. If you guys are determined to do this, talk to Carly. Don't do it behind her back.

Spinelli: That is a suggestion worth contemplation.

Jason: And please do it somewhere else. I have an appointment.

Maxie: Fine. We're going, and you need to get a handle on your control issues.

Spinelli: The Jackal is somewhat confused. Are -- are we still planning to continue aiding the Valkyrie?

Maxie: Yeah, and while we're on one venture, why don't we make it a two-for? I say we sign up Mr. Socially challenged for the dating site also.

Spinelli: Maximista courts disaster.

Maxie: Oh, come on, Spinelli. We're not going to use Jason's real name. We'll just use his stats. I mean, I have to see if he's even compatible with one person.

Marty: The painting contractor insisted on both your signatures.

Jax: That's okay, Marty. Thanks for taking care of it.

Carly: Was that so bad?

Jax: Truthfully? Yes. This hotel and the one in Montreal are constant reminders of the life that we planned together.

Carly: We can still be amicable. We've always worked well together, you know? We'll just keep it strictly business, nothing else.

Jax: Well, I'm not sure I can.

Carly: Don't force me out. I love this hotel. We have rebuilt it, and it is doing great.

Jax: I'm very proud of what we've both accomplished with it. As for the future of it --

Carly: What are you going to do, Jax?

Jax: I don't know. I -- the managers meeting is in an hour. If you don't mind, I'll let you take it.

Diane: So your position on infidelity is that it doesn't count if you don't get caught?

Max: That isn't what I meant.

Diane: I'm so sorry. What is it exactly that you meant?

Max: That Mr. and Mrs. C don't really count, because they were married before.

Diane: I see. So, exes can feel free to sleep together, regardless of the fact that they are currently married or engaged to other people?

Max: Mr. And Mrs. C have a unique thing. Plus, they were grief-stricken over Michael. They weren't thinking straight.

Diane: Oh, so many excuses for their blatant infidelity.

Max: Okay. You know what? Kate's your friend. I get that you're protective of her, okay? But it just happened once.

Diane: So that's the reason it doesn't count? Tell me, Max -- have you cheated on me just once?

Max: I mean, how could I cheat on you when we're just in a "casual" relationship?

Diane: So you have cheated on me, and it's my use of semantics that now makes it my fault?

Max: No.

Diane: Okay, this is what I have to say to you. Kate Howard may have a better wardrobe, but I've got a better backbone. And you will never have the opportunity to cheat on me again. You and I are through.

Alexis: Look, I told you I'm not going to comment on Scott Baldwin’s tactics during the Zacchara trial. The jury reached a verdict. Justice has been done. That's what I'll comment on. That's it. It's a feeding frenzy since they found John Zacchara not guilty.

Sam: Yeah, look, I was hoping to talk to you about Jerry.

Alexis: I appreciate your concern, and I want you to know that I don't take your warning lightly.

Sam: But you're still seeing him?

Alexis: I'm very well aware of his moral deficiencies. What we have in common is his devotion to his brother.

Sam: No, look -- I think you're really looking for redeeming qualities because you're still sleeping with the guy.

Alexis: Okay, you know what? It's really weird to talk about my having sex with you.

Sam: I know it is. I'm sorry. I don't want you to get hurt, and I think Jerry is capable of far worse than you realize.

Alexis: My eyes are wide open. Sam, I assure you, okay? I don't want to be abrupt. I am swamped here. It's not just the Zacchara trial. It's just that we think that the fire at the clinic may have been arson. We're not sure of a motive.

Sam: Yeah, whatever. No problem. I am sorry to bother you.

Alexis: You're not bothering me. Ever, okay? I want you to come for dinner. Will you do that? Please, Kristina and Molly miss you.

Sam: Wow, yeah. I mean, sure, I'll -- I'll call you later.

Alexis: Good.

Sam: Good. Bye.

Alexis: Bye.

Lucky: So, how did it go? Did you tell Alexis that you suspect Jerry of starting the fire at the clinic?

Sam: No. I could not tell her. So, meet me later and I'll explain.

Lulu: Well, I -- I -- I sit with my mom and I -- I talk to her. I've told her about you and how we went to New York and I lost my mind and you took me here.

Johnny: It helps to tell your mom?

Lulu: Saying it out loud makes me think about how wonderful you've been, and I know she would feel the same way. She would want to thank you if she could.

Johnny: Lulu, everything that's happened to you, even you being here, is because of me.

Lulu: Yeah, but that's over, and now we have all the time in the world. How did we get so lucky?

Johnny: How did I get so lucky? You know, I took that wrong turn on lookout road and saw you hitching. I can't believe it. It seems like it was yesterday, but it wasn’t. It was --

Lulu: A year ago.

Johnny: Today.

Lulu: What? Oh my gosh. How'd you remember?

Johnny: How could I forget? Open it.

Lulu: [Gasps] Oh, wow.

Johnny: Happy anniversary, Lulu.

Lulu: Happy anniversary.

Anthony: Ric, you did a fine job saving Johnny. You were eloquent, persuasive, and quick on your feet. All excellent qualities in attorneys. I'm giving you a lot more responsibility around here.

Ric: Thank you, Anthony. I appreciate that.

Anthony: You're uncharacteristically quiet. What? You got nothing to say?

Trevor: Why bother? You get some kind of sadistic pleasure rubbing my nose in Richard’s questionable success?

Anthony: If it had been up to you, my son would be on his way to a lethal injection.

Trevor: Oh, we'll never know now. I never got the chance to defend him.

Anthony: Nobody likes a whiner, Trevor.

Claudia: There's no way you could have pulled off what Ric did.

Trevor: What? Put you on the stand, let you lie, and make it seem like it was real testimony? Any idiot lawyer could have done that.

Ric: Shame you didn’t.

Trevor: Oh, Richie, come on. Don't be a hypocrite. Tell your daddy the truth. You were desperate. I'll bet it wasn't even your idea. So you suborned perjury.

Anthony: Whatever you call it, Johnny is a free man, and as a reward, I'm giving Ric and you more power.

Claudia: Me?

Anthony: On a limited basis, with Ric to keep an eye on you. I'm going to let you participate in the family business.

[Claudia laughs]

Trevor: You'd better get somebody else to keep an eye on Richie or you're going to be the one to whine.

Elizabeth: How are you doing?

Nikolas: Hey, they just -- they took Nadine for some more tests.

Elizabeth: That isn't what I asked. In case you don't remember, you were also in a fire last night. You haven't even changed out of your sooty clothes.

Nikolas: I know. I should probably call Alfred. I left my cell phone --

Elizabeth: He already called. I told him you were okay.

Nikolas: Oh. How's Spencer? Did he say --

Elizabeth: He's fine. He's fine. Alfred said he's got everything under control, and you can stay here as long as you need. Which is good since obviously something's keeping you here.

Nikolas: Yeah. I just -- I feel so restless sometimes. You know? Like I'm -- like I'm coming out of my own skin. And I try to find some -- some purpose or meaning in this whole thing. I mean, that's -- that's what the clinic was for. And then Nadine almost died there.

Elizabeth: Nikolas, the fire wasn't your fault.

Nikolas: I know.

Elizabeth: In fact, you saved Nadine and Matt's lives.

Nikolas: I know. It's just -- it makes you not want to invest or care about anything you love, because it can be taken away from you so easily.

Elizabeth: You know what I think? I think it scared you to see Nadine in danger. And whether you wanted to or not, it made you realize that you care for her. And now you're alive, and she's alive. And what happens next? You can either hide from what's in front of you or take the chance while you can.

Carly: Hey, Marty, can you reschedule that manager meeting for tomorrow after the meeting I have with the new pr company?

Marty: I'll take care of it.

Carly: Thank you.

Marty: Shall I send over a waiter to take your lunch order?

Carly: No, I'm not hungry. Thanks.

Maxie: Go ahead.

Spinelli: No, Maximista is most gifted in the art of persuasion.

Maxie: Spinelli, it's your idea.

Carly: Is there a problem?

Spinelli: As it happens, um, jackal and Maximista bring solutions in this time of tenseness and loneliness.

Carly: What time?

Maxie: It's okay, Carly, you don't have to pretend.

Spinelli: You're among friends.

Carly: I am?

Spinelli: Yes. The pain of great sorrow is, is written on your brow.

Carly: I have lines on my face?

Spinelli: No. You remain as lovely as ever despite your heartbreak. And the jackal and Maximista here are -- are here to console you in the wake of your breakup with the white knight Jax.

Carly: [Laughing] Oh, no. No way.

Maxie: No, no, no. Just -- just hear us out.

Carly: Sitting here with you two, in a group therapy session, is pretty much my idea of hell.

Maxie: There is no worse hell than being dumped.

Spinelli: But the Valkyrie must refrain from focusing on the negative.

Maxie: Exactly. It's just time to face the truth. Sometimes no matter how much you love a guy, things just don't work out. And as soon as you accept that, it's easier to move on.

Spinelli: Yeah, with our able assistance.

Carly: What kind of assistance?

Maxie: It's a gift horse. Just run with it.

Spinelli: Despite your being deserted by your loved one, the Jackal and Maximista here are going to provide you with your pick of men.

Robin: Hi. Sorry I'm late. I just got called in for an emergency consult.

Anna: Oh, no worries. I'm going to buy a car seat, not diffuse a bomb.

Robin: And you've done that how many times?

Anna: Enough to know that it is mundane in comparison to watching my little girl have her little girl.

Robin: It means a lot to me that you took a leave of absence until the baby comes.

Anna: I wouldn't miss this special event for all the tea in china. I'm here to support you, and to drive you a little crazy, because you're going to find out soon enough, that's exactly what parents are here for.

Robin: So much to look forward to.

Anna: Yay.

Robin: Hey, can you do me a favor?

Anna: Hmm, what?

Robin: Can you call headquarters and ask to use the database?

Anna: Pourquoi?

Robin: I know it's a little unorthodox, but we have a patient here, a doctor actually, and we're trying to find his family.

Jason: Where -- where have you been?

Diane: I had to change my shoes. I wasn't walking tall enough. Course, that happens when you lean on a man.

Jason: What?

Diane: All right, now, the city council's going to ask you some very tough questions before they simply hand out building permits. So, your answers need to sound sincere. Since you are a man, and all men are good liars, that shouldn't be very difficult for you.

Jason: Are you okay?

Max: Who's to say you haven't cheated on me?

Lulu: It feels so great to just be with you and not be worried that someone's going to come and drag you away.

Johnny: I'll never take my freedom for granted again.

[Knock on door]

Lainey: Hi. Lulu, time for group.

Lulu: Group.

Lainey: Group.

Lulu: Uh, Johnny's free. That's better for me than any group.

Lainey: You've committed to the program.

Johnny: She's right.

Lulu: Okay. Well, if you want to wait and stay and see me after?

Johnny: Where else would I be?

Lulu: In case I forgot to mention it, you look very good without handcuffs.

[Johnny chuckles]

Johnny: She's getting better.

Lainey: Lulu has a long road to a full recovery.

Johnny: Well, but she seems a lot more relaxed and confident since I was acquitted.

Lainey: Lulu testified to killing Logan on the witness stand. I wasn't there, but the reports of her behavior concern me.

Johnny: Scott Baldwin put her under a lot of pressure.

Lainey: So have you.

Johnny: I love her.

Lainey: Regardless of your intentions, you represent violence and danger, upheaval to Lulu. You brought chaos into her life. And right now she's not strong enough to handle it. She may never be. So please, for Lulu's sake, make this your last visit.

Jerry: Hello, darling. The door was open, so --

Alexis: Like it would have mattered if it were locked. I have so much work to do. And as nice as it was to see you last night, although unexpected, this is a distraction that I can't afford.

Jerry: Well, a distraction is better than most things I've been called. How are you? Oh, by the way, the plant is a replacement for the one I knocked off the porch the other day when I was leaving in the wee hours of the morning to avoid the awkwardness of sitting at the breakfast table with your children.

Alexis: Bye-bye.

Jerry: No, no -- and -- and, for the record, I did not give in to temptation and look at anything on your desk.

Alexis: It doesn't matter. Go right ahead. Ever since we started sleeping together I never leave anything more compromising than a grocery list.

Jerry: Yes, I see. Very wise. Oh, you forgot butter.

Alexis: Hmm.

Jerry: What can I say? I'm unconscionable. But, that's what you love about me. You on the right side of the law and me --

Alexis: I'm busy.

Jerry: Oh, yes, you must be. I heard about the fire in Nikolas' clinic. And it must be a top priority.

Alexis: Yes, it is, actually. Shoo.

Jerry: Any idea how the fire started?

Alexis: Why are you so interested?

Nikolas: Okay, I consider myself a fairly intelligent man, but I can't make heads or tails of these test results.

Nadine: Well, I am a nurse, remember? So I do speak medicalese. You could simply let me read my chart.

Nikolas: Okay, translation please.

Nadine: All right. Uh, well, it looks like I have minor smoke inhalation, and I should be released today.

Nikolas: Yeah, but, I mean, you can't -- you can't be alone in your -- in your apartment right now. I mean, you could have -- there could be complications. You could -- you know?

Nadine: First of all, you're not my doctor. And secondly, I'm not staying in this hospital a second longer than I have to.

Nikolas: No, no, of course not. I'm just saying you need -- you need downtime. Rest. Relaxation. Sunshine. Things like that.

Nadine: Hmm, you're right. You know what? I'm going to spend a month on my private yacht, cruising the Caribbean. That should do the trick.

Nikolas: Okay. Actually I was -- I was hoping that you would come stay with me at Wyndemere.

Patrick: I made a major miscalculation asking Robin to marry me over the P.A. system. I left myself wide open for her public humiliation.

Noah: Humiliation is good for the soul.

Patrick: I'll be sure to do it more often.

Noah: No, no listen, honestly. Honestly. I mean, you -- you had the courage to put your heart on the line for your woman and for your baby. It was the right thing to do.

Patrick: For a change.

Noah: I've said this many times, but I really mean it, Patrick. I'm very proud of you.

Patrick: Wow. Actually sounds like a real dad talking.

Noah: Yeah, well, I -- I didn't do what I should've when I had the moment, but you're not even a father yet. You're already making better choices than I've made.

Patrick: Dad, you've done some things right along the way.

Noah: I made more mistakes than you.

Patrick: Well, I'm sure I'll find new ones about myself once this baby's born.

Noah: [Chuckles] You're going to be a hell of a dad.

Patrick: Thanks.

Diane: If you haven't cheated on me yet, you will.

Max: [Scoffs] I said nothing about cheating.

Diane: You made it crystal clear that you heartily condone it.

Max: You know what this is? This is a guilty conscious.

Diane: Excuse me?

Max: You're going on the attack to cover up the fact that you cheated on me.

Diane: That is a ridiculous assertion. Now you are just grasping at straws.

Max: I don't hear you denying it.

Diane: That's because it's beneath my dignity to even discuss it.

Max: Well, excuse me for lowering your standards.

Diane: Okay, you know what you're doing now? You're being a typical man, trying to turn your transgression back on me.

Max: You just can't admit you're wrong.

Diane: "I'm right, you're wrong." That is a tactic used only by the desperate.

Max: There you go again, doing what you always do. Treating everything like it's some kind of legal argument.

Diane: Well, I'm sorry. If you find my manner overbearing and abrasive, you should have spoken up months ago.

Jason: Okay, both of you, stop now.

Lulu: Johnny?

Johnny's voice: It was great to see you. I'm glad you're getting better, and I don't want to mess with your progress. Take care -- I love you.

Lulu: Mom?

Lulu: Mom?

Laura: Honey, is that you?

Lulu: Oh, yes. Hi.

Laura: It's all right. I was just dozing.

Lulu: It scares me to see you in this chair. I don't know why you would want to be in this chair, now that you're better. Unless you never came out of it in the first place.

Jason: Look, I don't know what's going on here, but I--

Diane: I'll tell you what's going. What's going on is Mr. Giambetti willing to trade in a mature, career-driven, intelligent woman for a cheap 20-something in a tight sweater.

Max: You'd rather be with the boss than the flunky. No wonder why you didn't want Kate to marry Mr. C. You probably wanted him all for yourself.

Diane: That is patently absurd.

Max: All Mr. C's lady lawyers eventually fall for him.

Diane: Me? Attracted to Sonny? I have never been so insulted in my life!

Max: Okay, maybe I've --

Diane: But you know what, Max? Now that I think of it. You bring up an excellent point. Why did I choose the bodyguard over, let's say, an attorney or a venture capitalist? I could be spending my weekends in intellectual pursuits, rather than holed up in some rickety cabin fishing till my waders rot.

Max: You said you liked to fish.

Diane: Well, of course. Who wouldn't enjoy spearing the cheek of an innocent trout with a needle?

Max: Then don't go fishing with me. Go to a polo game with some stuffy banker instead.

Diane: Consider it done. My slumming days are over. We're through.

Max: Diane, maybe if we -- I --

Diane: I don't want to hear it! Be gone with you, boy toy. [Crying] Oh, God, oh –

Carly: This is a joke, right?

Spinelli: On the contrary, we are most sincere. The Jackal researched a myriad of dating sites. And the chosen one is highly regarded and discerning and boasts many happily coupled alumni.

Carly: Okay, thank you, Spinelli. Thank you. But I'm not ready. Jax and I just broke up. I'm felling really raw. And if I started dating now, I might -- no, I know I would do something really stupid. Okay?

Maxie: That's what Jason said.

Carly: Jason knows you guys are doing this?

Spinelli: The Jackal and Maximista, yes, we confided our plan to Stone Cold. And -- and he advised that we only forge ahead, pending the Valkyrie's approval. Even though he was a bit skeptical.

Maxie: Prove Jason wrong. Come on, Carly, you've got to get your game back. Why should you be sitting at home crying into your pint of ice cream when Jax is probably out having a good time?

Carly: Maxie, Jax is hurting as much as I am, okay?

Maxie: I don't know about that. Look.

Carly: You're right. It's time for me to get my game back. Why don't you show me the men you found for me to date?

Jerry: I went by the clinic this morning to check on the nurse who's caught in the fire. Nikolas was with her.

Alexis: And why on earth would you be so interested?

Jerry: Well, I have to admit that I had an ulterior motive.

Alexis: What a surprise.

Jerry: I was trying to placate your nephew, so you would see me in a more favorable light. I was trying to track down the source of the counterfeit drugs at his clinic.

Alexis: And?

Jerry: And I haven't yet been successful.

Alexis: One would think that you're attempting to reform.

Jerry: You provide a powerful incentive, my darling.

Alexis: And you talk a good game.

Jerry: Well, after last night, you know there's so much more to me than talk.

[Knock on door]

Lucky: I got the report you wanted -- I can come back.

Alexis: No, come in. If it has to do with the clinic, I want to hear about it.

Lucky: It was definitely arson. Inspectors found charred remains of a fire bomb.

Anna: So according to his paperwork, his mother is dead, deceased, and there are no other relatives listed. Um, full name is Dr. Matthew Randall Hunter. Mm-hmm, yeah.

Noah: Did you say Matthew hunter?

Anna: Oh, hold on, Paul. Uh, yeah, it's this guy in here. He was in a fire, and they can't locate his family, poor guy. So I'm -- I called in a favor to headquarters. What? Yeah, I'm still here. Uh, so well, then just -- you know, call me back and let me know what you find out. Okay, bye.

Anna: You okay?

Noah: Yeah.

Anna: Do you know him?

Laura: I can get out of this chair whenever I like.

Lulu: It's just beyond good timing. I needed you so much.

Laura: You still do, don't you?

Lulu: Yes, yes. I do. I -- my hallucinations of Logan made me think I was going insane and then I come in here and you woke up. You woke up like that. And you talked me through my fears, and then my hallucinations went away. It's like -- it's like I needed you so much, I invented you.

Laura: Invented me?

Lulu: Nobody else has seen you but me. You don't want anybody else to see you. You don't even want Nikolas or lucky. What if I've made you up –

Doctor: Laura -- oh, I'm sorry to interrupt.

Lulu: Who are you?

Doctor: I'm here to consult on your mother's case.
