Claudia: We have to find John before the police do.

Maxie: Excuse me, we?

Claudia: This is a list of all the different cars and boats that my family owns that are under false names, and I know Johnny's got to be using at least one of them.

Spinelli: Okay, the -- the search is not as -- as simple as Vixenella imagines.

Claudia: Why, what's the problem?

Maxie: Spinelli's too nice to say it, but I'm not. What gives you the right to barge in here and order him around?

Claudia: I suggest you help me encourage Spinelli to find my brother or you're going to be very sorry you didnít.

Nikolas: So the police seem to think that you helped break Johnny Zacchara out of here, but that really doesn't make any sense to me.

Jason: I can't tell you anything.

Nikolas: The police found -- found the mayor's car in the factory district, but there's no sign of Johnny or Lulu. I'm here as a concerned brother, okay? You helped Emily when -- when Zander took her. You went after them and -- and you helped your little sister. Now, Iím asking you to help mine. I mean, you -- you would've done anything for Emily, right? Okay, so for Emily's sake, if -- if you know anything about what happened, please, just tell me.

Lulu: So who lives here? Is that you?

Johnny: Yeah, it's me and Professor Siegel. He's my piano teacher. He's lived here for years.

Lulu: But it doesn't seem like anybody's been here for a while.

Johnny: No, he's usually at the shore for the summers.

Lulu: When's the last time you saw him?

Johnny: It's been a while. My mother found him when I was a kid. He -- he used to come to the house and teach me lessons all the time. I'd come here every once in a while, in this apartment. God, last time I remember, he was a professor at Julliard and an accompanist for classical singers, opera singers. I remember, once, my mom took me to Carnegie Hall to see him perform. He taught me a lot about music, not just how to play, but how to listen.

Lulu: And did you keep taking lessons from him after your mom died?

Johnny: Yeah, for a couple of years. But, gradually, as my father got sicker, I had to stop. This place, this apartment --

Lulu: Your escape.

Johnny: Yeah, it's the one place where everything made sense. Because music is basically about order. Every note is essentially the same. It's just a matter of how you arrange them.

Lulu: I never thought of it that way.

Johnny: Music kept me sane for a long time. I guess you could say saved my life.

Lulu: And then I came around and put you in danger all over again.

Jax: No, unfortunately, we have different ideas about what love means. And I refuse to settle for the kind of love you're willing to give me.

Carly: I know I've made mistakes. But, you know, so have you. I'm not giving up on us.

Jax: There is no "us", Carly. Now, I've been thinking, maybe there never really was.

Anthony: You get that ex-wife of yours on the phone. You tell D.A. Alexis Davis --

Ric: Anthony, you need to slow down and just come up with a strategy --

Anthony: Shut up. Where's my son?

Trevor: I had a meeting with John this afternoon.

Anthony: Where is he now?

Trevor: Scorpio was pressing him to confess and cop a plea bargain. I backed the cop off and calmed the kid down.

Anthony: You idiot. Don't you know how to turn on your radio? John got his hands on a gun, took Lulu Spencer hostage and escaped.

Trevor: When did this happen? Is he hurt?

Ric: No, not as far as we know, no thanks to you.

Trevor: Listen, Richard, I just had a meeting with the kid.

Ric: Yeah, you just had a meeting with the kid, your client, who you left so helpless, so reckless that he hijacks a -- a -- the mayor's car, drives off, and he takes an innocent girl hostage in the process.

Trevor: When did that happen? Did he call in?

Ric: No, as a matter of fact. The car's been abandoned. But an APB has been put out with express instructions to use deadly force.

Anthony: My son is out there somewhere running for his life with every cop in town taking pot shots at him. And if John dies -- listen to me. I will cut your heart out and feed it to you.

Spinelli: There is no need for dark promises of any kind. We're all very concerned about Johnny --

Maxie: What Spinelli is trying to tell you is that he only takes orders from Jason, not the Zaccharas.

Claudia: Jason's in lockup.

Maxie: Then I guess he's not available to tell Spinelli to start any computer searches for Johnny or Lulu or anyone else.

Claudia: Does she speak for you?

Spinelli: Vixenella must know that the Jackal holds her in the highest esteem and empathizes with your fear and concern with regards to your vanished sibling, as we all are concerned about the well-being of --

Claudia: Okay, but wait a minute. What if -- what if she asked you to help me? Would you help me?

Maxie: Never going to happen.

Claudia: Really? Really, even if I reminded you of that conversation we had at the Crimson office? You remember the one, Maxie, where we found out what kind of person you really are?

Maxie: Don't even think about blackmailing me.

Spinelli: Blackmail? What has Maximista done?

Mac: Look at it this way, Mayor. Having your car stolen from an escaping murder suspect could get sympathy from voters.

Mayor Floyd: Commissioner, I look like an idiot and so do you. How the hell did John Zacchara get that gun in here? And why haven't your people been able to find him?

Mac: Any luck?

Lucky: Not so far.

Mac: Look, the mayor's not going to like Nikolas Cassadine questioning a suspect.

Lucky: Listen, I hate playing this Emily card, but that's all we have. Let's just give Nikolas a few more minutes.

Nikolas: Jason, I'm not here on behalf of the police. All I care about is Lulu. Whatever -- whatever you tell me right now, I swear --

Jason: I can't -- I can't -- I can't help you.

Nikolas: All right, well, can you at least tell me -- what about the gun? What do you know about the gun? How -- do you know how he may have gotten it in?

Jason: No, I donít.

Nikolas: He didn't get it from you?

Jason: No, he -- no, he didn't get the gun from me.

Nikolas: Okay, you -- you came in here to speak with Johnny, right? Is that right?

Jason: Yes, I came in here to speak with Johnny. Lulu was already in here with him.

Nikolas: Do you honestly believe that she would smuggle a gun in here?

Jason: Yeah, I do. Where else is he going to get a gun from? I mean, I hear that Lulu has been near hysterics because she's so upset about Johnny being arrested.

Nikolas: Well, if she did bring it in here, he put her up to it and then turned on her.

Jason: Well, he did drag her out of here at gunpoint. But the problem is I don't think Lulu's a hostage. That makes her an accomplice. And that puts her in even more danger.

Nikolas: Right.

Lulu: You should have let me confess that I killed Logan.

Johnny: In self defense. Logan attacked you.

Lulu: Because I literally drove him crazy. Even after I started seeing you, I let him believe that we still had a chance when I knew we didnít.

Johnny: Logan used Maxie to upset you. He blamed everything bad thing that ever happened to him on you.

Lulu: Don't make excuses for me.

Johnny: They're reasons, not excuses.

Lulu: I should've had a clean break. Instead, I was telling Logan things he wanted to hear when I knew it wasn't true.

Johnny: That gave him no right to come after you.

Lulu: I didn't mean to kill him.

Johnny: You had every reason to be terrified. You had just seen what he did to Maxie.

Lulu: Well, what if I was wrong like the time when I hit him with a pipe wrench? I mean, what if he really wasn't going to hurt me?

Carly: There's no us? Is that what you say to all your wives before you leave them?

Jax: They have nothing to do with this.

Carly: You get to mention Jason or Sonny whenever you feel like it, but I can't mention that I'm wife number five --

Jax: There's no point in fighting about the past when you weren't even a part of it.

Carly: When Courtney left you for Nikolas, you didn't fight for her. You just walked away, kind of like the way you're walking away from me now, the way you walked away from Skye when Brenda showed up. Can't really count Alexis because that was a marriage of convenience. Who the hell knows what happened with Miranda? But you married all those women, and you promised to love them all, and when the going got tough, you left.

Jax: I think you're simplifying.

Carly: I haven't even mentioned Chloe or Brenda, the two women you didn't marry. But you promised to love them forever, until what? You didn't?

Jax: Yeah, well, you know what? My brother already gave me the same lecture about my unwillingness to stay in a marriage when it isn't working. So, thanks, but I've heard it.

Carly: So I'm as crazy as Jerry for expecting you to live up to your wedding vows? Is that what you're saying?

Jax: Okay, you know what? Perhaps I did give up a little too easily on some of my relationships. I didn't -- I didn't fight for Courtney until it was too late. And I was pretty dreadful to Skye. But I planned to spend the rest of my life with you.

Carly: Really?

Jax: Yes, really.

Carly: Is that why you're walking out the door?

Jax: No, I'm walking out the door because I don't want to fight about everything all the time. I don't want to fight about the hotel --

Carly: We're partners in the hotel.

Jax: And my business associates.

Carly: Kate is the only one --

Jax: And the constant lies.

Carly: I didn't lie. I didn't lie. And you know what? It doesn't matter because you lied to me, too.

Jax: No, no I didnít.

Carly: Yeah, you did. You kissed Kate, and you didn't tell me. That's a lie by omission.

Jax: That doesn't even compare you going behind my back to Claudia Zacchara, of all people.

Carly: We talked about that. I -- I thought I was helping, Jax.

Jax: Oh, really? You thought you were helping?

Carly: Yeah.

Jax: Well, maybe in the Carly world of logic that makes sense, okay. But I refuse to keep running from crisis to crisis. And I will not be the second or third or nineteenth priority in your life. And you know what else I'm sick of? I am sick of our entire relationship always being on the line every time we have a fight.

Carly: Well, that's on you because you're always ready to walk out the door.

Jax: Well, you never notice me until you're on the verge of losing me.

Carly: That is not true.

Jax: Really? Let me -- let me tell you something. You create a crisis. You get caught. Then you're really sorry and -- and we make up and everything is going great for a while. But then it just -- I deserve better and so do you.

Carly: Does that make it easier for you to walk out the door, by blaming everything on me?

Jax: Call it whatever you want.

Carly: Jax.

Nikolas: So you saw everything. You saw Johnny drag Lulu out of here.

Jason: Yes, I saw it all. Lulu was terrified. That's why I -- I don't think it was planned.

Nikolas: Well, if it wasn't, that means they don't have an escape route, right? They're going to get caught eventually.

Jason: Yeah, possibly.

Nikolas: Do you think the police have enough on Lulu to charge her as an accomplice?

Jason: I don't know what that freak -- I don't know what the cops have. But the longer Lulu's out there, the more danger she's in.

Nikolas: Do you think he would ever hurt her?

Jason: No, I don't, but these idiots have orders to use deadly force.

Nikolas: Right.

Jason: If Lulu's in the wrong place at the wrong time --

Nikolas: Right. All right, I appreciate your help. Thanks.

Lucky: What did he say?

Nikolas: Not much.

Mac: Did you ask him about the gun?

Nikolas: Yes, I did.

Mayor Floyd: What is going on over here? Why was Nikolas Cassadine allowed to question the suspect?

Nikolas: Why did you allow Johnny Zacchara to take off in your car with my sister in it?

Mayor Floyd: Excuse me?

Mac: Mayor, come here.

Lucky: You were in there for quite a while. Jason must have said something.

Nikolas: Well, Lucky, am I talking to my brother right now or to a cop?

Lucky: You know I don't give a damn about my badge when it comes to Lulu.

Nikolas: Okay, Jason didn't arrange for the gun. He thinks Lulu is in on it.

Lucky: Lulu was terrified. I saw her face. It was real.

Nikolas: Yeah, okay.

[Phone rings]

Lucky: I got to take this.

Nikolas: All right.

Nadine: Hey, I heard about your sister. How can I help?

Leyla: Most of us wear scrubs in the E.R.

Matt: Yeah, well, all I did was take the wrong woman to dinner.

Leyla: Nadine did that? What on earth did you say to her?

Matt: Yeah, everything was going fine until some report came on the news about some girl being held hostage down at the police department and -- jumped up. Her fusilii ended up all over my shirt.

Leyla: That's because the hostage is Lulu Spencer.

Matt: So? Was she shot?

Leyla: Lulu is Nikolas Cassadineís little sister.

Matt: Okay, and so I deserve to smell like pasta sauce all night long now?

Leyla: No, Nadine just cares deeply about people. That's all.

Matt: Well, then she should be careful or find a new line of work. Caring is just asking to get hurt.

Claudia: Maxie's not quite the little angel that you think she is.

Maxie: Spinelli knows better than anyone how messed up I am, and we're still friends. I'm not going to let you ruin that.

Claudia: Okay, well, that's your prerogative. But we are wasting time here, and it would be a lot easier for everyone if you would just run the trace for me.

Spinelli: The Jackal is most confused, not to mention alarmed, by the -- the -- by the undercurrents of --

Maxie: I'm not going to be blackmailed, okay? You better listen very closely, Spinelli, because it's pretty bad.

Spinelli: Okay, look, the Jackal assures Maximista nothing that she could ever --

Maxie: Claudia showed up at the Crimson offices one day and offered me $10,000 to sleep with her brother, Johnny. She said I'd get another $10,000 if Lulu would walk in on it.

Spinelli: But you -- you turned her down, right?

Claudia: [Chuckles]

Maxie: I took the deal.

Spinelli: Well, did you succeed in your somewhat mercenary seduction?

Maxie: I probably would have if this whole mess with Logan hadn't happened.

Spinelli: Why would you agree to such a soul-killing arrangement?

Maxie: Because $20,000 is a lot of money to me.

Spinelli: But considering the repercussions, not only for the fair Lulu and the mob prince, but Maximista's self-pride --

Claudia: Spinelli, you are missing the point.

Maxie: Because he's too sweet and loyal to think like you.

Claudia: Okay, well let me put it to you this way. Maxie here was willing to sleep with my brother for money, okay? That means she's for sale to the highest bidder.

Ric: Well, I guess if I were a good son, then I would stay here and help you out, but unfortunately, I have things to take care of.

Trevor: Richard, it's time to work on the spin. I will meet you at the police station.

Ric: Don't bother, Trevor. I've got it from here on out. Thank you.

Trevor: Don't you even think for a second I'm going to turn John over to you --

Anthony: Enough already. Will you please stop fighting and get Johnny out of this? Because if anything happens to him, you're both going to pay.

Ric: Reality, Anthony, please. Just join us for a minute, okay? Because the truth of the matter, all threats aside, in order for your son to stay alive, I've got to stay alive.

Anthony: [Chuckles] You've got one treacherous kid there, a little dim as well. He really doesn't seem to understand that if John dies, you both die with him.

Trevor: Now you be quiet for a minute. For years now, I have been cleaning up after Johnny while you, old man, you sat in the corner tied up in your straight Jacket drooling on yourself. I did the best I could to teach him everything he needs to know.

Anthony: Yeah, so you could take over. But I fooled you, Trevor. I got better.

Trevor: Yeah, and a lot of good that did. You know something? I could give a damn how many threats you make because if anything bad happens to Johnny, it is on you.

Lulu: I just keep thinking about the night I hit him with the wrench. I was wrong then. He was not the text message killer. What if I was wrong again?

Johnny: I was there, Lulu. Remember? He had his hand over your mouth.

Lulu: Yeah, to keep me from screaming. He wanted to explain.

Johnny: Okay, will you listen to what you just said? You had just found a whole string of evidence that tied Logan to the killings. You thought he had just killed your best friend. You had every reason to think you were next.

Lulu: Well, he loved me. He was desperate for me to love him back. Desperate people make mistakes.

Johnny: Okay, but, come on, you had just seen what he did to Maxie. He wasn't a victim in either situation. He attacked Maxie, busted through my door with an axe -- what were you supposed to do?

Lulu: Are you saying Logan deserved to die?

Johnny: I'm saying you had every right to defend yourself.

Lulu: Well, maybe you can kill someone and not feel bad about it. I canít.

Trevor: Let's get this straight, once and for all. I spent a good part of my life protecting John. And I even ran this business while you were out roaming around in your garden looking for your dead wife.

Anthony: You helped him because you wanted to use him as a figurehead, Trevor. The worst day of your life was the day I started to get well.

Trevor: No, I raised that kid because nobody else could be bothered to. And I have always put John's best interests first. I told you right from the start that Lulu Spencer is not one of them. She is an immature brat, and she neither understands nor respects the reality of John's life nor the danger that surrounds him. Oh, God, I knew this thing was going to happen. That's why I tried to send her away the first time that John laid eyes on her. But no, no, no, you -- you -- you wouldn't have it. You wouldn't hear of it. You wanted to encourage that relationship. You wanted to use Lulu for leverage. And now the truth of it is you put your own son's life at risk, not me.

Anthony: You find my son for me, Trevor. And when you do, we'll set him free. Lulu Spencer is going to die.

Nikolas: Lulu's been asking me for help with this for months. She kept telling me how confused she was about her feelings for this -- this guy, Johnny, and I just --

Nadine: It's hard to sort that stuff out sometimes.

Nikolas: I've just been so preoccupied with my own stuff. I really didn't listen to her. I should have just kept telling her over and over -- stay away from him, stay away from him. I could have kept her busy at the -- at the clinic. I could have invited her to come live at Wyndemere for a while. I could have -- I don't know. Instead, I told her to follow her heart.

Nadine: That's never bad advice.

Nikolas: I don't need any platitudes right now, thank you.

Nadine: Well, you followed your heart with Emily, didn't you? Wouldn't you do that again?

Ric: Look, I got to admit, I was astonished to find out that you, of all people, helped Johnny and Lulu escape. It does occur to me that you're trying to broker a truce between yourself and my employer. After all, you did try to burn Anthonyís house to the ground. So if you were afraid of retaliation, it's a smart move, Jason. But you botched the whole thing, okay? Now Johnny is in more danger than ever, and so is Lulu.

Jason: Should I call for a guard?

Ric: I'm just trying to help, Jason.

Jason: You want to help? Get out.

Maxie: Claudia is right. I'm an awful person. I think only of myself, and I'll do whatever it takes to get what I want. But you've always known that about me. Yes, I would have been happy to seduce Johnny and get the money. I would have enjoyed hurting Lulu's feelings. But I've also helped her when she's been in some major trouble.

Claudia: To get points with John.

Maxie: Sometimes I have an agenda. That's just how I think. But, Spinelli, you're my best friend, and I've done my best to be a good friend to you as well. And I'm just -- I'm asking you, don't trust Claudia, okay? She's not on your side.

Spinelli: The Jackal appreciates your honesty. Your attempt to turn the Jackal against Maximista has failed, but the Jackal forgives Vixenella for her harsh attempt at leverage. He realizes that she's just motivated by her deep concern for her missing sibling.

Claudia: Isn't there some way that you can help me? I helped you when you were sick. I helped Jason, too.

Spinelli: If Stone Cold authorizes your request, I would be more than happy to provide my expert assistance.

Claudia: I'll be back.

Maxie: You're really disappointed in me, right?

Lulu: I don't care how scared I was. I took a human life.

Johnny: Okay, but Logan attacked you. He could've killed you.

Lulu: Yeah, maybe, maybe not, but I can't go back and apologize. I can't explain to him how scared I was.

Johnny: You don't have to.

Lulu: Well, I need to be held accountable for what I did. I can't act like Logan didn't matter. He didn't deserve to die.

Johnny: Okay, Lulu, think for a second about what really happened, what you really saw. You saw Logan attack Maxie. He threw her across Kate's desk. For all you knew, Maxie was dead. He then busted through my door with an axe, for God's sakes, not to prove to you how much he loved you or because you broke his heart. No, he wanted to make sure that you didn't tell anyone what he did to Maxie.

Lulu: Yeah, but I had enough time to go call the cops or to leave or to get help, but I didnít. I froze. I panicked just like my mother did the night Rick Webber died.

Carly: You going to say goodbye to Morgan?

Jax: Wow, that's low.

Carly: Why? Morgan loves you. He's lost Michael. He's lost Sonny. And now you're leaving him.

Jax: No, I'm not leaving him. I'm planning to call him every day and go to every one of his karate classes. I'll spend as much time with Morgan as you will allow me to.

Carly: I wouldn't keep Morgan away from you. He loves you.

Jax: Yeah, and I love him, too. But it's not fair to try to use him to get me to stay, okay?

Carly: I don't care. I don't care. If that's fighting dirty, I'll do it. I'm going to do whatever it takes because I know you want to stay married to me. I'm just trying to stop you from making a huge mistake.

Jax: Oh, really? So you're doing me a favor. Is that what you're saying?

Carly: You know, you obviously don't want to fight for this marriage. So I'll -- I'll do the fighting. We're not perfect. We've been through hell. We've both made mistakes. But when I said for better or worse, I wasn't kidding.

Jax: Neither was I. I just never signed up for misery.

Carly: Well, you know, maybe sometimes misery is a part of the deal, Jax. You know, marriage is like any other long-term investment. You have rough spots, but you're richer in the end. That's the point of taking wedding vows, so you stick around when you feel like leaving. I'm keeping my vows. What about you?

Jax: I have been every bit as committed to this marriage as you have.

Carly: Really? That's why you're walking out the door again.

Jax: As I mentioned before, the only time you seem to notice me is when I'm walking out the door.

Carly: And you say I'm manipulative? You know being abandoned is one of my greatest fears, and every single time something doesn't go your way, you leave.

Jax: I've tried to make this work, Carly.

Carly: And when I don't respond the way you want me to respond, you leave.

Jax: You promised not to undercut my investment in "Crimson," and you turn around, and you did exactly that.

Carly: This is not about your investment. It's about Kate --

Jax: No, this has nothing to do with Kate.

Carly: Oh, okay.

Jax: This is about trust and respect.

Carly: I trust you, and I respect you. But there's no way I'm going to let Kate ruin our marriage over a lie.

Jax: You knew exactly -- you knew exactly what was at stake when you lied about the meeting.

Carly: No one left a message. Why won't you believe me?

Jax: I don't want to fight anymore. I'm done.

Carly: You know what? You know that Kate set me up. You're using this as an excuse to leave, and if I didn't love you so much, I might let you go.

Jax: Oh, you ain't letting me do anything.

Spinelli: The Jackal could never pass judgment on any of Maximistaís choices. In fact, he admired how she refused to be blackmailed by Vixenella. It was -- it was most courageous to tell the truth.

Maxie: No one's ever believed in me as much as you, except for Georgie. Even when I would do crazy, stupid stuff and she'd be furious, she would never give up on me.

Spinelli: Wise Georgie -- I miss her.

Maxie: Me, too. I think she would be really happy that we're friends. In a way, it's like the last thing she gave me, my connection with you. You really are my closest friend, and I would never want to do anything that would ruin that. I'm glad that you forgave me.

Maxie: Anyway, I better go. It's getting late.

Spinelli: Wait -- wait -- Stone Cold told us that we should stay together. Would -- spending the night be out of the question?

Maxie: Mac would pull a gasket. Actually, he's going to be working for the rest of the night, so I guess all I would have to do would be leave him a message that he won't get until tomorrow.

Ric: Look, an APB that justifies deadly force is excessive. It's unwarranted. John Zacchara is no more a threat to the public than you are. We don't even know if Lulu Spencer has been taken hostage.

Mac: You're wasting your breath. I am not downgrading the APB.

Ric: Mac, if there's a shoot out, Lulu could get hurt.

Lucky: Thank you. We hadn't thought of that.

Ric: Boys, the mayor is out dealing with the press. Now the sooner you two can diffuse the situation, the better it's going to be for everybody.

Nikolas: Hey, tell me where your son took my sister.

Nadine: Nikolas --

Nikolas: Where are they?

Anthony: Your sister brought that gun to John, didn't she? If anything happens to my son --

Nikolas: Look, if you want to spirit your son off to some -- some other country, I really don't care, but you're going to tell me where my sister is.

Anthony: Oh, you don't care. You mean I have your approval?

Nikolas: You just tell John, let Lulu go.

Anthony: If I knew the whereabouts of my son and little Lulu, why am I here?

[Phone ringing]

Nikolas: To cover your own back and make yourself look innocent when you know it was all your doing.

Anthony: Listen to me. There is no way my son pulls a stunt like this on his own. Your sister talked h into it. She's nothing but trouble. She's unstable. She's a nutcase just like your mother.

Nikolas: You son of a --

Anthony: Hey --

Mac: Nikolas.

Ric: Let go, let go. Come on.

Lucky: You need to go home. You're not helping anybody.

Lulu: My mother lost her mind because she thought she killed someone. She panicked like I did. She was defending herself, and when my dad tried to help get her to face the truth, she couldn't stand it.

Johnny: That was your mother, not you.

Lulu: But I could still confess. I mean, my -- I could get a good lawyer, and my family would be behind me. At least it would be telling the truth.

Johnny: Lulu, it's a little too late for the truth to matter to anyone.

[Knock on door]

Ric: Look, Commissioner Scorpio is just making a bad situation worse, Mayor. But if you were to remove the deadly force from the APB, I'm sure everyone --

Mayor Floyd: That thug tried to kill me and stole my car.

Ric: If we give John Zacchara the opportunity to turn himself in, I think everybody could save face.

Mayor Floyd: I would rather see the PCPD take effective action.

Trevor: If Johnny releases Lulu, you can take the credit.

Ric: Exactly.

Mayor Floyd: What if he doesn't? What if he blows h brains out? I promised the voters to be tough on crime. I intend to keep that promise.

Claudia: Johnny would never hurt anyone, especially Lulu.

Mayor Floyd: Tell that to Logan hays.

Claudia: The police forced John into this, and you are going to hunt him --

Mayor Floyd: For all we know, you smuggled that gun in here and helped him escape.

Ric: Ms. Zacchara wasn't even here, Mayor.

Mayor Floyd: She may also have helped her brother kill Logan Hayes. I understand the evidence is leading in that direction.

Ric: Oh, be careful, Mayor. You might want to avoid a libel suit by changing the subject.

Anthony: I could sit here as long as you can. I got nothing else to do. I'm inclined to think Lulu brought John that gun. You know, hysterical girl not thinking clearly, and her brother's a cop so nobody bothered to search her. Now, the only person who could have arranged for that gun is you. [Chuckles] Maybe you were trying to get on my good side -- help my son escape to make amends for burning my house to the ground.

Jason: Don't know what you're talking about.

Anthony: Listen, if John dies, I'll have nothing to lose. I'll kill you first, and then I will bring a reign of chaos and terror on this town the likes of which no one has ever seen. So I suggest you put your people to work, Mr. Morgan, and make damn sure my son comes home safe.

Maxie: I thought you couldn't look for Johnny and Lulu without Jasonís permission.

Spinelli: Uh, the Jackal must await Stone Cold's approval only to disclose the pertinent data. Besides, the sooner the Jackal begins the hunt, the better the chances he'll find fair Lulu and the mob prince. Do you have any idea where they might flee?

Maxie: Well, what is it that you have so far? Because this is just a bunch of numbers and dashes. It doesn't really make sense.

[Knock on door]

Mac: Maxie, it's your father.

Maxie: The one time he checks his messages.

[Knocking on door]

Mac: Open this door.

Maxie: I'm coming.

Mac: There's no way you're spending the night here now or ever.

Maxie: This is my personal life, and you can't interfere.

Mac: You're not shacking up in a criminal's apartment, in Jason Morganís living room.

Spinelli: Oh, if I may intercede on Maximista's behalf --

Mac: Stay out of this, Spinelli.

Maxie: Don't talk to Spinelli like that.

Spinelli: Stone Cold only wishes Maximista to be safe as we all do.

Mac: You're not staying here. Do you understand? I'm not going to lose another daughter.

Spinelli: Perhaps to honor wise Georgie you should obey your well-meaning, if apoplectic parent.

Mac: Now come on, let's go. The squad car is waiting downstairs.

Maxie: Oh, I'm not going anywhere in a squad car.

Mac: With the lights and sirens.

Maxie: I'm serious.

Mac: Do you understand? I'm keeping you safe, Maxie, whether you like it or not.

Maxie: All right, I'll just find my own way home or stay here.

Mac: I don't have time to argue.

Maxie: Fine, you win. We'll ride home in the squad car. But I swear, as soon as we get there, I'll hightail it to the Metro Court and have sex with the first bell man I can find.

Nadine: John Zacchara would never hurt Lulu.

Nikolas: No, maybe not intentionally. But if I know Lulu, she would do anything to save him. Throw herself into the line of fire -- what happens if she gets too close when the police start shooting? How close was Michael to Sonny when he got hit?

Nadine: It's not going to be the same thing.

Nikolas: I mean, I know I shouldn't talk like that. It's just --

Nadine: Well, sometimes you have to say things out loud to take away the power.

[Knock on door]

Lulu: [Whispering] We should go back out the window.

Johnny: No.

Lulu: But it could be the cops.

Johnny: It's not. They would have said so by now. It's just a nosy neighbor, I'm sure. Be right there.

Jax: Look, I refuse to waste any more of my time or your time living the way we are now, making up one moment and then crashing into a brick wall the next.

Carly: Then you stay and give us a chance.

Jax: I have stayed, Carly. I have tried. We just -- we just need to let this be over.

Carly: It breaks my heart that you don't believe me about the meeting because that means you think I set out to deliberately hurt you, and I wouldn't do that. And you're -- you're letting Kate rip our marriage apart.

Jax: Kate is not a threat to you. I do not know how else I can say it, but if you can't trust me enough to take me at my word, then there's no point in --

Carly: How about you taking me at my word about the meeting?

Jax: Forget about the meeting.

Carly: Okay, you saying that means that you know Kate set me up.

Jax: It's too late for it to matter.

Carly: Okay, really?

Jax: Yeah.

Carly: You want to leave me, you go ahead, but you kiss me goodbye first.

Carly: See, you do love me.

Jax: Yeah. I always will.

Carly: Jax.

Carly: Jax!

[Car starts]

Maxie: Well, thanks for bringing me home. I can't believe Mac made such a fuss.

Spinelli: Uh, the top cop loves you very much.

Maxie: I love him, too.

Spinelli: And he clearly disapproves of your association with the Jackal.

Maxie: Mac is wrong a lot when it comes to my personal life. Besides, you're my best friend in the whole wide world. Thanks for helping me today.

Spinelli: The Jackal is at fair Maximista's service.

Maxie: I'll see you tomorrow.

Spinelli: Okay.

Maxie: Bye, Spinelli.

Spinelli: Bye.

[Maxie screams]

Claudia: I want Spinelli to help me find my brother, but he won't touch his keyboard without your permission. So I'm asking you, Jason -- help me find John.

Jason: You don't need Spinelli. You know that Johnny is going to contact you soon. When he does, you just let me know. I may be able to work something out.

Claudia: Okay, I'll tell you when he calls. I'll tell you if you promise -- promise me that you'll help him.

Nikolas: I appreciate the concern, but I'm all right. Really.

Nadine: You attacked a man in a wheelchair in the middle of the police station, and your sister's been kidnapped. How could you possibly be all right?

Nikolas: Okay, I'm terrible. Do you feel better now?

Nadine: No, I feel awful. But I think that if you talk about this stuff instead of keeping it bottled up inside, it'll help --

Nikolas: Nadine, it's not -- it won't change anything, okay? The one thing I learned about Emily's death is that sometimes the worst really does happen.

Man: Who are you and what are you doing here?

Johnny: I'm Joe. I was a, uh -- student of Professor Siegelís. He taught me piano when I was a kid, and I moved to Chicago and we kept in touch. He said I was always welcome

Man: So you just decided to visit?

Lulu: Well, I'm starting at NYU in the fall.

Man: And you are?

Lulu: Uh, Linda. Joe's been talking about wanting to see Professor Siegel for a while, and I thought that this would be the perfect opportunity. He's an amazing piano player. He has to decide if he's going to go the classical route or if he's going to continue with the band, and who better to go to for advice than his old teacher?

Man: That's a nice story. Only trouble is, Professor Siegel is dead.
