A Great Matter In September of 1031 for a few weeks in Sundaril, all the councilors have been called to the Sapphire Room daily. The discussion: should women be able to inherit? Most central to the discussion: can the king's daughter be allowed to legally take the throne if there are no sons from him?
Invited are not just in the councilors (and the king, of course), but members of the royal family and the new Listonese Ambassador.
Christmas Ball Tonight there are grand banquets, great toasts, and amazing spectacles. In Sundaril, a new dish has arrived, imported from Liston: Salad! This as well as huge structures made of marzipan are served as if they were food of the gods and the king's good mood certainly helps the pages serve with flair.
Meanwhile, in Liston, a new food has also emerged: stuffed breads! Either stuffed with cheese or meat or even vegetables, this new food has taken Liston by storm and is known as Bread Surprise. No doubt, time will change the name to something less of a mouthful, but, for the time being, people are stuffing their mouths with these warm delights.
The Wedding of December The wedding of Augustine Blackwood and Duke Adam Greystone is starting! Early in December, as planned, and the whole world has decided to rejoice with them with a fresh batch of snow and icicles seeming to grow from the trees themselves. Inside the church, poinsettias burst with red coloring from swathes of white silk studded with pearls. They reflect not just the bride's purity and virginal state, but the wintery beauty outside.
Seraphin Palace Built after the War of Lions, Seraphin Palace is made of black and white marble with gold and silver and every possible gem you can imagine. The usual home of the Seraphin dynasty, it is only left in the winter, when the court and the Seraphin siblings retire to the sea palace instead.
The Homes of Citizens These are where people in the cities live: Townhouses, regular houses, and hovels. Fill out a form to get your house in either city!
The Estates Out in the country, away from Sundri, the nobility own land and power of their own. Commoners live, work, and die there. Nobles tax, dine, and plot there.
Liston Palace Located in the capital, Liston-by-the-Sea, the palace of Liston is its crown jewel. Full of grandeur unknown before in the court, the palace of Liston was newly built in 975. At its southern most wall: a cliff leading into the dazzling sea.
Liston-by-the-Sea The capital of Liston, the city sits in the bay in the south of Liston. The water sparkles like diamonds and sapphires and the breezes are often warm. Most of the populace, especially the nobility, reside here as this is the locus of all important activity.
The Homes of Citizens For the people who live in Liston-by-the-Sea or other cities throughout Liston, there is no place like home. Apply for a townhouse, small home, or a hovel here.
The Estates The nobility of Liston often visit their estates to make sure things are being run well and efficiently. Beautiful, elegant or dark and intimidating, each estate seems to match the owner's outlook. Commoners also live on the land, working and thinking up ways to keep alive in the winter.
The Countryside Farms dot the landscape, their fields like a patchwork quilt over the land. Nobility are often found racing their horses along the wide, dirt roads and, rarely, a carriage is found upon it, traveling to Liston-by-the-Sea or some far off town.
The World Outside Farengalia, Espania, Sarreilla, Anhuinox, the Romani Empire...They're all here and it's up to you as to how to use them. Please post, in the topic description, what country you are in and keep in mind the travel times. If you have any questions as to the culture and the countries, ask me, don't assume.
