Name-] Mangh DeVries
Age-] 4 years of age.
Family-] -- Parents: Dralld (father) and Lilyer (mother) -- Siblings: Arucia (sister) and Vorasia (also sister)
Apearance-]
Mangh is a larger wolf, having Alpha parents. His body build is large, but mainly built for speed. He has large, amber golden eyes, the common color for any wolf. They make his face more kind than the rest of him. His ears are the normal size for his breed, but the left has a jagged scar running through the inside. It does nothing to adhere his hearing, but it is a scar nonetheless. His build promotes strong muscles and a large jaw. Mangh's teeth and jaw are extremely powerful and he uses them to the best of their abilities. His paws are large and cary his weight easily. They are hard from travelling as a loner for so long and are quick to begin a chase. The fur on Mangh is like another one of his breed. Dark shades of black and grey on his back, receding to white and tan on his legs and underbelly. His tail holds the same shadings as his back but is lighter on the underside.
Personality-]
He loves to have those he can talk to, but hates those are are dishonorable. He is quite the gentleman, but soft and shy and gentle. He wants to have a mate and seeks for one soon, one with whom he can share a lifetime.
Mangh is a rough sort of wolf. His past has been marred with fights and the like, but he tries very hard not to let anyone in. His eyes are the window to his soul and he hates them for it. He doesn't like showing anyone his kinder side of personality, preferring to keep a cold outlook. He is the one that is extremely loyal, and will do anything for an Alpha or mate. Once commited, Mangh never leaves service. His loyalty also spreads his protection. Protection is something that comes easily enough to the male after having to watch over two younger sisters in puphood. Mangh protects like mad and, if assigned, will destroy anything that gets near his precious cargo. He believes in life-long service and looks down on betrayers and those who do their dirty work undercover. His nature makes him an adversary that never stops. Mangh believes that if you have something to say, say it and don't leave it underground. He loves to spy on others, but is respectful as well. Mangh also, is eager to please a master. If he doesn't do something correct, he lashes out in the forest by himself. This character trait hasn't left since puphood.
Past-]
Mangh was birthed in the spring as all other wolves were. His parents were the Alphas of the pack. Therefore, they were extremely important and made their pups the same. He was the oldest out of the three pups that came, strong and eager to please. His parents expected nothing less than the best from their pups and he did his best to win their love. In his young mind, he believe that if he was better than the other wolves, his parents would love him. They always had treated him with a cold respect that he admired and grew into as an adult. The pack he was born into contained 13 adult wolves, one of the largest packs he has ever seen. With them, came the bagagge of extra protection and more teachings from others. The Betas had pups of their own and Mangh and his sisters had four other playmates.
Spring turned into summer and summer went to fall. By the winter, Mangh and the other pups were playful and learning the ways of the wolf. They got plenty of attention from the older wolves, much more than their own parents. This was especially true for Mangh. His parents still wouldn't warm up to him. He broke his tail trying to impress them, bringing leaves and rocks that he had 'killed'. He tried everything to win their love, but they never did what he really wanted. He wasn't quite sure why. The Betas loved their pups and would play with them often, Mangh could hear their laughter from outside the trees. His parents never did that with him and he detested them for it.
Eventually, the three pups were old enough to start hunting. Mangh exceptionally well, still trying to impress his parents. He did everything he was supposed to do and more. He protected his sisters from oncoming prey at hunts, he would hunt alongside the adults, he also brought home meat for the older wolves that could no longer move willingly. Mangh was the Alpha's son and so regarded with respect, but all the adult wolves loved him like any other wolf pup. He learned to watch the stars from the oldest she-wolf and how to watch for close storms. Mangh learned to gaudge from the dirt beneath his feet whether he was close to a river or stream. He could leave tracks behind him with ease and made them hard to erase.
Then came the time for all of the pups to part ways. Mangh and his two sisters walked one way, and their puphood friends (the Beta pups) went another. They seperated with fond goodbyes and promises to find each other soon. Until then, Mangh was still happy and slowly going serious. His two sisters were shy and weak, both having much more pampering than their brother. They loved to roll about in leaves just to do something and frolicked along the mountain paths that they had to cross. They didn't even think of the possibility of leaving their brother. Mangh, however, thought of it and couldn't let it out of his mind. It would be so easy to travel without his two younger sisters as bagagge. So, after a long day of trekking, he left them during one of their naps.
He never felt like a betrayer, leaving his sisters to fend for themselves. In a way, he was to blame for letting them become the way they were. Mangh had always brought food for them and protected them from the others. Now, he left them to survive on their own. He travelled by himself as a loner for two long years. The other packs that passed him he either found faults with or didn't like. Mangh never asked for acceptance from any of them, finding them with something wrong. This pack had too many wolves, this one had too many pups. There were too many weak wolves here, and too many slow ones there. He could never rest at one where he could be Mangh. He was ambitious and wanted to have a high rank. After all, he was an Alpha pup.
As Mangh travelled, in his four year a few weeks after his birthday, he found another pack trampelling a lone wolf. His ears perked and he watched them from the safety of the trees. They seemed to be pulling and clawing their way at the wolf and he didn't understand. They were acting as though the wolf was prey that had somehow killed one of their one. Mangh ambled closer just as the wolf pack left. His eyes were serious as he looked down at the wolf. It was a she-wolf, though you couldn't tell much from the mangled mess she was. Long scratches went down her sides and her head had been stepped upon. Her tail seemed to be broken, but her eyes looked wildly at her next tormentor. Mangh looked at them and realized who she was. Arucia, his younger sister. She whispered something to him and he had to lean down to catch it. She wanted him to finish the job and he backed away. Mangh couldn't do it and shook his head.
Arucia cried out to her brother pleadingly and he stepped over her. Mangh's eyes were cold as he bit into her neck. After it was done, he felt a great change come over him. The world was bitter and he set out to look for the pack that had trampled his helpless sister. He wanted to find who had done it and why. What did they have against a weak female wolf? After his sister's death, he was never the same again.
Sample Role-Play-]
Mangh walked easily up the barren hill. Skies were silent and forbidden. The land beneath his feet felt hard packed and unfriendly, not like the forest at all. His golden eyes were wary and tired, but full of determination. Now, a familiar sense filled him, he had to fight for a higher rank. Mangh's nostrils were filled with a familiar scent and his tongue too, tasted something disgusting. He spat onto the ground, his spittle disappearing quickly. He wanted the rank of Gamma now, ambitious as he was, and wasn't going to let any Alpha or Alphess stand in his way of that. He had been submissive at the borders, kind to another from another pack, but he was tired of it. Mangh wanted to rip something into pieces, hear a satisfying crack as his teeth met another. He had caught a few rabbits on his way here, but they hadn't been in the least satisfying.
Ever since Arucia he had this want, no, this need, for the taste of blood and the thrill of the kill. Not just weaker beings and prey, but stronger ones that put up a fight. Mostly, Mangh won and was satisfied. Now, though, he had to think twice about fighting most of the wolves here. All of them were frightened and cautious, not in the least as friendly as they had been one year ago. Everyone had been hit with some loss. But, he had to admit, not all of them turned into what he had become. A crazed, dying wolf that didn't know his place and wasn't eager to find out where it was.
The large wolf stopped where he was, physically and mentally. He wouldn't allow himself to think further. If he wanted to claim Gamma, which no one else had, then he had to start acting like one as well. He couldn't go around killing every single wolf that crossed his path, now could he. No, Mangh had to behave and keep himself in order. It wasn't and hadn't ever been anyone else's job, now it was his more than ever. Arucia and Vorasia were gone; where, he couldn't say. But, they had left, and he had nothing else. He would fight now to keep control over himself for himself, and no one else. Mangh didn't have a mate, no pups. He fought for himself now.
He started again. His head twisted back to get a glance at his path that he left behind and was pleased to see that his paws hadn't left any tracks. Though, with this hard ground, it was tough goings if you tried. Mangh's eyes bore into the empty, vast church ahead as he looked forward again. He could slowly see the stones that were all that were left of the human building. Why did the stupid beings spend their energy on this if they had more important things to worry about? It was senseless to him, he just couldn't figure out the puzzle. They had to feed their young, build shelter, and they made this hunk of junk. It hadn't even lasted long, it wasn't anything fearful now.
Mangh shook his head and approached the rubble. He entered through a space between the stones and walked into the center. He was at the top of the hill now and could see for a few miles. The forest laid out its leaves to him and Mangh wanted to howl. Here, he could raise his head and look at the stars at night. Here, he would come again. There was an eerie sense, but it looked empty enough. He decided to answer his need to howl and did just that. His note filled the air, one long sound. It was determination, all of it. Nothing else could be spotted in there. Mangh lowered his head again and stood in the center of the rubble. A massive wolf among ruin.
