The water exploded into the air, crashing up against the cliffs in a deafening splendor. Spray, salty and wet at the same time, rushed upward. A fine mist of seawater gathered on his face as he stared, open mouthed. The sea, shifting and magnificent, shown endless in the moonlight. The roar of the waterfall as the Kishaleh river plunged into the ocean thundered to his left, churning it's final course out of Kantasia Valley. There were no seagulls on this starry night, but they would be screeching out in the morning.
Marckus Rayaviave, drawn by the sounds of crashing water, had come up to the cliff and seen his first sight of the sea. It had been dawn, and he had been hit with the full magnificence of the sun setting in fiery hues over the rolling sea. It was night now, and the stars and rising moon proved to be just as beautiful as the daytime.
Now he knew why the SunStone was only the second best place to watch the night sky- this view was endless and mind blowing. The sea darkened at night with the twilight's failing colors and shown deep blue and violet as the moon rose. The stars shown like diamonds scattered across the sky.
He was a prize himself, all though he wasn't always aware of it until, blushing, he noticed females flirting with him. He had handsome beautiful white fur that spread over him unbroken, and left him nearly invisible beside snow. Big, soft black eyes regarded everything with wonder, and matching black lips and pads and nose contrasted nicely with his fur. He was tall, although by no means heavily built, and had small, quick, able paws. Marckus was also kind and beguiling, with a smile that lit up hearts.
Quiet and unassuming, yet painfully polite to his superiors, he had not lived a very good life. Black eyes snapped shut as a vision of his mother arose, and he tried furiously to push it away. His eyes opened again, and he found himself breathing hard. Marckus slowed his breath, sighing, and then looked back up at the stars.
He muttered into the roaring water, "Best not spoil this night's beauty with my mother's venomous charm...."
