Senpai Group: Administrator Posts: 378 Member No.: 1 Joined: 15-February 05	Has anyone read this book? After delving into the Lord of the Flies, I read a piece which compared it to the Catcher in the Rye, and I found the premise to be intresting. Holden reminds me of Clint Wilson from Stubble, at least in Clint's early days. Could anyone give me some insight?

As far as I remember, Holden's overall goal is to somehow preserve the innocence of children from the harshness of reality. I could be wrong though.

(IMHO) I had to read it for english, and i could barely keep my eyes open (unlike 'To kill a mockingbird', which i actually DID fall asleep readin it). The stupidest part was when he was with Sonny, or got her, as if a kid that's 13 can get in as 22. Yeah right. And i'm Edgar Newbower. And this book is supposed to bring forth the theme "Change".
