Just moving this to the correct forum.
Considerring how it is spelled Ninjutsu.... Ninjutsu was basically used by murderers, who were hired by Samurai who didn't want to dirty their own hands. Their tactics were brilliant, yet dishonorable in my opinion. These days, martial artists have recreated Ninjutsu into a watered-down version, a more positive version, if you will. This style may or not be considered "honorable", but it depends on whose criteria we go by. |

Rather than give a history lesson, why not explain why you think it deserves dishonor?

While Ninja's are awesome (They could totally beat Pirates in a fight), they basically thrived on being dishonorable. For instance, if the odds were stacked against them; they would throw a blinding powder into the eyes of the enemy and run like hell. Overall, Ninja's were just doing what they were trained to do: Hiding in the shadows, stalking their target, killing said target and leaving before anyone even notices. Sure, is wasn't the most honorable proffesion out there, but it got the job done quickly. And let's not forget that a lot of cool Ninja's have appeared in fighting games, you have Hanzo Hattori (Samurai showdown and World Hereos), Zantetsu (The Last Blade) Kotaro Fuuma (World Heroes), Galford (Samurai Showdown), Andy Bogard (Uses Shirunai Ninja Arts), the Mk ninjas and the list just goes on and on. So basically.... Dishonorable, yet cool.

Did't I? They were assassins. Plain and simple. And they were dirty in their tactics, though some say that you should do anything to stay alive, and that they were only doing what was natural. Modern practiconers of Ninjutsu are more honorable, and I don't call them Ninja, because there are no true Ninja left, as the word Ninja refers to hired assassins, though the traditional, masked in black Ninja are called "Onmitsu". I think they (the modern Ninja) are called "Ninjutsuka", which means Practicioner of the Art of Hiding in the Shadows, or something like that. Modern Ninja-Honorable Ancient Ninja-Dishonorable Therefore, I picked "Undecided". BTW, VM-You forgot Eiji Kisaragi from KoF95. How could you? Also, word of advice to everyone: The MK Ninja fight very inaccurately. Just thought I should enlighten everyone on that. Like a Ninja would wear yellow as fighting garb....Noob Saibot's the most accurate one there.... |

The most accurate Ninja game out there has to be the Tenchu series. These aren't ninja's that throw fireballs and whatnot. The main characters (Ayane and Rikimaru) jobs are to slip in and get their job done in silence. I have Tenchu: Wrath of Darkness for my Xbox and it's a blast to play. And Rikimaru is such a bad ass!

Sad part is that people who say they know this art are usually lying. I.E., this stupid hoe I used to like said her brother in law was studying ninjutsu. God damn chronic lying mother fucker. There is NO SCHOOL here in San Antonio who teaches this art. The dominate style here is Tae Kown Do. You'll find Karate schools here, just that 3/4 of them are not legite like mine. Only one Akidio school on the north side and one Ju-jutsu school on the northwest. And a couple of other styles but you gotta dig for them, to find them. I should tell this guy next time I see him, "Let's spar bitch...."

The techniques of Ninjutsu are just amazing as well as the ability to be "invisible". But abusing the style to kill is dishonorable, sure you could pretty well kill somebody with karate, tae kwon doe or wing tsun but these styles (well pretty much every martial art I see no problem in Ninjutsu as long as you use it for self-defense. It's up to you what you make it. |

Technically, the martial arts are supposed to be used for philosophical purposes, training the body and mind, and such, as opposed to self-defense purposes. Self-defense can still be used, but I think that philosophy should be first.
Let's not forget, the Ninja didn't actually forbid killing, rather encouraged it. That was the whole reason they developed it, to become better assassins. |

Dishonorable? Honorable?
I say who cares? They're badass, that's all that matters. |
