Updates and Announcements
May 25 : I know it's been a minute for updates. I apologize. But really, cut me some slack, it been hectic lately and more than anything, the internet is a problem. Honestly, I didn't think internet this slow existed anymore. It literally takes anywhere from 5-20 seconds for EVERY SINGLE PAGE to load. When you think about how often you click around the web, that slows things down a lot. So in the next couple of days I'll be doing some major work with the site, but still, like I said, cut me some slack.

Also notice the season has been changed and it is now fall.

May 9 : The Roll Call is over and all the characters that did not reply have been deleted. Unfortunately, in my fury of deletion, I think I may have deleted some new members that hadn't gotten a chance to reply yet. If that is the case for you, I sincerely apologize, please feel free to resign up. It was not my intention to delete any of the new members.
But, for those of you that were not new and did not reply you have been deleted. You are welcome to rejoin but we do expect activity here. Thank you.
One last thing, a semi-major announcement can be found here.

May 1 : Go here. It's a roll call for the site, if you don't reply in one week, your account is gonna go kaput.

Happy Birthday to Me!! Sorry guys. Ha. But it's my BIRTHDAY! Whoooooooot. So I replied to one of my threads, but the rest will have to wait until tomorrow. Sorry. But, rest assured, I don't work until 5 tomorrow, so they'll be up. I promise.

General Beliefs.

Because of the lack of humans, wolves are much more relaxed as a species. Their habitats are returning and they no longer have an predators. Many wolves have adopted a very earth-centered view of life around them. Some wolves brush this off as nonsense, some only vaguely believe, and others swear by what older generations have taught them.

The major principle in these wolves' beliefs is a strong belief in the fact that all things are connected. Every rocks, tree, plant, and animal is connected to everything around it. Wolves who adhere to this dogma have an enormous respect for all things, living and non-living. This is the foundation of all other beliefs among wolves.

Because of this interconnectedness of all things, many wolves believe that certain items have energies about them. Certain stones, barks, or other items may be collected and carried by the wolves for their specific energies which are then shared by the wolves. Some think this is nonsense but many are convinced that these energies are real.

Shamans are highly respected among wolves because they are the most knowledgeable about plants' healing properties and the energies of objects. Some believe that highly skilled shamans also have the ability to see into the past and into the future. Again, there are certainly those that find all this complete nonsense, though many at least partially believe these traditions. Regardless, t is seen as extremely bad luck to be on the bad side of a Shaman.

Spirit Animals.

Many wolves are, at birth, given a spirit animal. These animals are seen as lifelong guides. They assist their wolves in making decisions and navigating their life. Most wolves are given these, if only out of tradition, though those who are very opposed to the traditional beliefs do not have them. Spirit animals are assigned by a shaman at birth. They generally have some sort of similarity to their wolf counterpart.

Animals that are less than 1/2 the size of their wolves are nearly always by the side of their wolf, but those wolves with larger animals are generally on their own. Their spirit animals will occasionally visit their wolves to provide advice or support through a tough situation but they are not generally with their wolf.

Spirit animals will absolutely never involve themselves or assist their wolves in fighting or violence of any sort. They are peaceful spirits and are simply for assistance. Again, any animal that could be logically found in North America may be a spirit animal.

  • If your wolf is going to have a large spirit animal, you better convince me that you can handle it. I don't want someone running around a bear for their animal and causing havoc, that's not what they're for.
