Updates and Announcements
May 25 : I know it's been a minute for updates. I apologize. But really, cut me some slack, it been hectic lately and more than anything, the internet is a problem. Honestly, I didn't think internet this slow existed anymore. It literally takes anywhere from 5-20 seconds for EVERY SINGLE PAGE to load. When you think about how often you click around the web, that slows things down a lot. So in the next couple of days I'll be doing some major work with the site, but still, like I said, cut me some slack.

Also notice the season has been changed and it is now fall.

May 9 : The Roll Call is over and all the characters that did not reply have been deleted. Unfortunately, in my fury of deletion, I think I may have deleted some new members that hadn't gotten a chance to reply yet. If that is the case for you, I sincerely apologize, please feel free to resign up. It was not my intention to delete any of the new members.
But, for those of you that were not new and did not reply you have been deleted. You are welcome to rejoin but we do expect activity here. Thank you.
One last thing, a semi-major announcement can be found here.

May 1 : Go here. It's a roll call for the site, if you don't reply in one week, your account is gonna go kaput.

Happy Birthday to Me!! Sorry guys. Ha. But it's my BIRTHDAY! Whoooooooot. So I replied to one of my threads, but the rest will have to wait until tomorrow. Sorry. But, rest assured, I don't work until 5 tomorrow, so they'll be up. I promise.

The night crawled on, living once again for another few hours. The wind whistled softly, playing an old song never forgotten to nature. A few birds fluttered around, adding to the nightly noise, but the darkness was not for them. And one wolf stood alone in the clearing in the forest, staring up at the sky, watching the stars with the curiosity of an animal that could never, truly, be able to understand them.

Stardust spent most of his boring nights here, trying to make something out of this lonely time. He usually left with enough contentment to live another day, but tonight was different. Sometimes life wasn’t easy to understand, the large grey wolf knew that much, but it had never been so bothersome as it did that night. There was something Dust was trying to understand, sadly though, he wasn’t sure exactly he was looking for. His spirit guide wasn’t helping much either. Dust hadn’t seen her for days, and he wasn’t the kind to plead for company. He could wait for something to happen.

’Five hours later, and still nothing…’ Dust watched the sky still, he was now lying down on a small mound of dirt just a bit off the center of the clearing. It grew quite for a while, but like always, something had to disturb it. The large brute’s stomach growled loudly, and the wolf growled back. Yes, he was hungry, but for some odd reason Dust couldn’t find prey. Surely it wasn’t this hard, prey was abundant just a few weeks ago. ’Not now obviously…’ Dust thought sarcastically to himself. Maybe a rabbit would appear at some point, even that was better than nothing. Dust could also fish.

Looking away from the sky, the large wolf contemplated what rivers were around here. Fishing would do too, if the land prey were not to be found.

Light paws contacted the brown earth lightly, as her midnight purple eyes scanned the dark horizon. It was summer now, the air was warm and slightly moist. Sometimes the world chose those nights were the silence resonated and the air was soft and kind. The weather was perfect and the air filled your lungs like a healing mist. The stars shone brightly above you whilst the moon cast down its radiant beams to light your way. Yes, the world sometimes sent these favors, and tonight was one of those nights. At least to the twilight shaded vixen, a happy leap to her step, her ears up and her mouth open with content, tail swishing back and forth. She was quite the optimist, always seeing the bright side. Yes, she was quite lonely, but to let it bother her would be wasting a beautiful night.
But for the sound of birds and water, no harsh noise disturned the golden silence. Only sounds of nature, the lovely symphony of the spirit rang its way through the forest. Kairi followed the sound of the water, knowing it would feel cool and satisying to her dry throat. Her ears told her where to go, and she hastily followed them. Her eyes were constantly scanning the area around her, and soon enough she caught sight, sound and scent of another wolf. She lowered her head some and just looked at him for a moment. She then approached him, assuming he was friendly. A bad habit of hers was to withold any judgement until after susatining injury. he could be dangerous, but it never crossed her mind.
"Hello. I was just going to get water, but then I saw you. I'm alone right now, and you look to be too....so I just thought I'd say hello" she said softly in a cheerful tone, but then trailed off realizing she sounded a bit dumb. "My name is Kairi." she added, remembering to introduce herself. She then sat down a ways from him, facing the wolf. She flashed him a small, warm smile.

Thanks Antiquity!!!<3 And woah! Stardust, our saying and stuff fit together so cool! XD

About our tables. That's cool xD

It was quite comfortable… here, in the middle of nowhere. Dust really didn’t want to have to move away from his quiet (quiet only because his stomach stopped growling) mound. Still, that was no reason for him to starve. The thoughts of fishing still swam, no pun intended, around in his head. It was a nice enough night, and it wasn’t like the fish slept, though that would make the catch easier. ’If only the prey didn’t live in holes or in large groups…’ Dust thought dully to himself. Life just had to be fun. The large grey brute sighed deeply before a small change in the wind brought on a new scent.

Before Dust could register that the scent belonged to a wolf, a… how to say it? A ‘fluffy’ wolf popped up from the rows of trees. It was a female; her colors were in a variety of some kind of purple, the darkness of night didn’t give away too much. She didn’t seem too wary of the brute on the mound either. In fact, she went off talking, surprising Dust with the sudden noise. He didn’t show the surprise much, though he did flick his ears back, but quickly brought them forward as if to apologize for the rudeness. Was he really being rude though? He wasn’t the one taking off into a conversation. What was that? She was alone as well? ’Wow…’ Dust couldn’t bring himself to say that out loud.

”My name is Kairi.”

This was new… Dust was usually ignored by most of the wolves he came across. Then again, Kairi was it? Yes… Kairi hadn’t seen how freakishly tall he was. Luckily, Dust was still lying down. Even though he didn’t want to, the over sized brute sat up. It was suppose to be a polite gesture, to show that he didn’t mind her being around, nor did he mind talking to someone else. It was probably good to talk to someone other than his spirit animal all the time. Hopefully he wouldn’t scare another wolf off.

"My name’s Stardust, though Dust sounds a lot better." Dust tried to give Kairi a light grin back, a small, crooked grin. It was still a nice grin though. "Nice to have someone new to talk to. And, hello." This was all Dust could say, at the moment. He didn’t want her to have to stay around if she didn’t feel too comfortable about being around a ‘giant’ of a wolf.

Kairi never lost her smile etirely, remants of it remaining plastered on her face as she was mostly cheerful soul. Her tail whipped back and forth slightly, showing that she enjoyed being around him even before he'd spoken. As she spoke, she saw his ears go back and she slowly came to the realization that she had done it again. She's started blabbering again, and this time before she'd even let him say his name! She shook her head at herself and the remains of her smile faded. She never could remember not to jump into things. Her dark eyes caught his ears move back up and she felt a bit better. She'd have to apologize later, since she hadn't considered that he was busy or uninterested in talking.
Kairi then watched as he stood and it seemed like she had to look up up up at him. She smiled to him. He was very very tall but really it didn't scare her at all. Actually the thought of him thinking she would be didn't even cross her mind. She thought it was marvelous. And being the outspoken wolf she was, she didn't take time to think and so she spoke...without thinking.

"Wow, Dust! You're so very tall!" she said with a smile. "You must have many friends. I bet they all feel safe near you." she said, her tone softening with admiration. She wasn't very strong at all, but she guessed her was very strong. 'He seems like a legend from old stories. He was like a noble hero, tall and brave with eyes like fire and the will of steel! He could take down legions of evil with a glance and conquer mountains with a howl, jump rivers with a hop! I wish I were like that...' She shook her head out of thoughts, and her fairytale imagination and smiled at her own imature thoughts. Yes, she could be ,ature at times, and was actually quite gentle. some times she was even very wise, but she very much enjoyed the simple happinesses in life, like imagining grand heros and taking strolls in the moonlight.

"And it's so nice to meet you. I'm glad you'd take the time to talk to me. I was...very lonely." she said gently, having calmed down quite a bit from her initial excitement. She smiled to him again, not being able to help it. The cool night wind played with her fur and she took in the scent of the fresh air. With the lovely night and new company, tonight was turning out far better than she'd expected.

Thanks Antiquity!!!<3

Sorry about this. It's WAYYY over due. We had computer issues the past few days ((I kinda broke the computer)) But yeah. New computer + summer break = a LOT more posts ^^

Dust was, at first, kind of surprised that the smaller wolf still stood near him. Wouldn’t she be like the rest? Wasn’t she ‘better’ than him? That was what most would think of him as. This was quite… new. Yes, this was a new reaction than Dust was far from expecting. Oddly though, he was quick to recover. This was a good thing too, since Kairi’s next words made almost made the large brute flinch… almost. Dust kept himself in check though, and didn’t let out the tiniest hint as to how deep Kairi’s words struck home. It did leave the poor brute speechless for a while. The quietness of night came back like a wave during a storm. Each hit grew more and more uneasy.

’Friends… No… I have no such thing.’

Dust was almost going to say this out loud too, but the female in front of him was too nice. He didn’t want to be an emo, not now. Right now, he had to help Kairi. She was lonely, and wasn’t afraid to say it out loud either. The large brute made a deal with himself. He was supposed to help out others, to make them happy. That way they could have a life he was never allowed to have. Still… Kairi didn’t even seem to flinch, not even the tiniest at his giant of a self. The thought wouldn’t leave Dust’s mind, but why be bothered by it? Instead of shying away, now was the time to make actual friends… maybe. Sighing lightly, Dust filled in the silence of the night with a soft, gentle voice, as if the night would shatter around him if he spoke any louder.

“It’d be fun to have someone else to hang out with for tonight. I am usually by myself on nights like this.” Dust grinned crookedly before going on. “You said that you was going to get a drink, no? I was actually about to go fishing. For some odd I can’t find any land prey.” Dust turned toward the sky now, as if thinking to himself. In truth, he was wondering what kind of fish there were in the river not far from here. Hopefully big enough ones to fill some of the giant’s appetite. “Would you mind joining me? If not the stars are company enough here.” Dust wasn’t sure how Kairi would interpret his last sentence, but truthfully he was giving her another chance to leave him by himself if she didn’t want to be near him. In the back of the brute’s mind though, he knew she probably wasn’t going to leave. Kairi was nice, not too nice, but the right kind of nice. Understanding at least. The grey wolf didn’t know much his new acquaintance, but wasn’t going to judge her from now on anymore on how most others would act like.

Kairi looked to him, and her eyes could almost see the silence between them. although she was naive, she could sometimes see past the outside of things. She had a feeling maybe she'd made him uncomfortable. Her mind analyzed the situation and came up with a few possiblilities. He was far from home and had not yet made friends or...his large size usually...scared others away. Well, not this time. Kairi found it fortunate to have such a large friend, well aquaintance, whom she hoped woulsd be a friend. Who knew, though. Maybe she hadn't made him uncomfortable and he was just finding the right words. She hoped so, because she didn't want to make him feel akward. Her attentions were once more gathered as he spoke.
“It’d be fun to have someone else to hang out with for tonight. I am usually by myself on nights like this.” he said, followed shortly by more words from the male. “You said that you was going to get a drink, no? I was actually about to go fishing. For some odd I can’t find any land prey.” he said. After hearing that Kairi took a quick glance aorund out of instinct, checking to see if she spotted anything. She did not and quickly turned her eyes back to Dust.

“Would you mind joining me? If not the stars are company enough here.” he said. Kairi shook her head. "Mind? I'd be overjoyed to come with you. I'm glad you asked." she said with a warm smile and cheerful tone. She then paused. "You're sure I won't get in the way?" she she asked, her tone softening. She was very used to getting in the way. She often messed things up when she had no intention of doing so. She was much better at land hunting and figured she would leave the fishing to Dust so he wouldn't go hungry. Her tail was wagging a bit, showing that she was excited to accompany him. Maybe she would try and find him some food as well.

Kairi walked over to him and sat down next to him, her purple eyes patiently looking to him for a reply. Truly, she knew she could be a clutz and she wouldn't blame him if he didn't want her along. Still, she was ecstatic that he'd even asked. He seemed very kind, and she already admired him.

Yay! Can't wait ^^ I like Rping with you and Dust -pets him-

((Thanks ^^, sorry for the no table today as well, I'm on my sis's computer and I don't feel like messing with the code from previous posts and having to spend forever to do that... so no table xD))

Stardust waited for a reply, and to him, it seemed to be taking forever. The large brute was still, silent, empty of all other thoughts while trying to consentrate on Kairi's reaction. All of a sudden the smaller female was shaking her head at his words. Did that mean something? No! Dust wouldn't judge this one anymore. Just because others were thick headed rats didn't mean Kairi had to be one. She was a wolf worth talking to. Caidy used to tell Dust that company was to be enjoyed and remembered. The brute never really believed this, but was now rethinking what he was so sure about. Kairi was willing to talk to him, and Dust wanted to remember that nice people really did exist.

"Mind? I'd be overjoyed to come with you. I'm glad you asked." Kairi's words brought on another small grin onto Dust's face. He also wagged his tail lightly, to show he was happy that she didn't think his asking was complete nonsense. Just with these words Dust stood up all the way, fully extending his height. Instead of being afraid of standing this time though, Dust knew better. Kairi wouldn't mind, hopefully. 'She hasn't minded so far,' The brute thought quietly to himself.

By now, Dust was ready to go. Then Kairi had to speak again. She had come closer now, sitting next to him now as he stood. Her tail wagged lightly still though, she didn't mind going with him. There was something that didn't make sense though. "You're sure I won't get in the way?" Her words went through his head, and it didn't take long for Dust to reply with his own voice. "Of course not. In truth, you should be more worried about me getting in the way. All I have to do is sit down and I'll cause and earthquake." Dust was trying to lighten up the mood now. He had company, and company always came first.

Kairi stood, waiting for Dust to stand and lead the way, or at least she hoped. she didn't know which way to the river, and hoped dust might know. He stood and it took him no time at all to catch up to her and then surpass her steps and lead. She followed, her light steps keeping always slightly behind him, with always a gentle smile on her face. Her purple eyes scanned around her and took note of the first signs of autumn. The hands of fall had gently shaken the trees, leaving various colored leaves to scatter about the forest. The sky was a pale blue, and the whole area gave off a golden sunlit glow, annoucing the end of summer. She walked alongside him, and her ears perked up at the sound of his voice. His question ran through her head and she nodded slowly. "Sort of..." she said, thinking of how to respond. "I lived here with my mother and father and sister. My father died a while ago, my mother passing soon after. My sister still lives around here, and we are on good terms but I've had no contact with her for quite some time." she explained, then her voice softened as she prepared to ask him the same. "What about your family?" she asked gently. She hoped she wouldn't hit a soft spot, but she wanted to know more about him. Her soft eyes glanced to him, with a hint of compassion for him. whatever his situation was she was glad to listen, and hoped he could find a friend in her. Everyone needed someone to talk to, and she hoped eventually she would be one of Dust's choices. She was a grand shoulder to cry on and could never be happier to hear others stories. As happy as anyone's life was, everyone had something wrong and she figured Dust was no exception. Even if he had a good family living, he still might have something laying on his heart. She wanted him to let it out if he wanted to, especially since she had so readily told him her own past.

It's OK, and sorry this post is kinda....... eh

To Dust, going down to a river with another wolf who didn’t want to drown him in the river was a BIG thing. It got him thinking about how many friends he had. Not many, not many at all. Kairi could be one, that all depended on how this fishing trip was going to turn out as though. At least the friends list isn’t too long, and remembering any friends he has would be easy. ’Oh come on Dust, think positively,’ which wasn’t hard for Dust to do. Kairi had to huff then. ’What was that?’ By now the large brute had stopped worrying and knew it was better to ignore it. Life was sometimes better not to ask.

“Lead the way,” coming back to consciousness, Dust now noticed that Kairi was already up and a few feet in front of him. What did he miss? Nothing it seemed, he just simply spaced out for a few seconds.

Two steps was all it took for Dust to catch up with Kairi, and he looked at her once before walking lightly towards the river, keeping his pace slower than what he would usually have it as. Even at this speed though, the feel of the wind felt cool to the touch. The grass was also soft beneath his giant paws, tickling him with every step. This was a good night, and it was pleasant. Still, he was about to go fishing with a wolf he knew only knew by name and personality. So, to strike up a conversation, Dust turned his head to look at Kairi with curious green eyes and asked generally good questions.

“Do you have family here?”
