Updates and Announcements
May 25 : I know it's been a minute for updates. I apologize. But really, cut me some slack, it been hectic lately and more than anything, the internet is a problem. Honestly, I didn't think internet this slow existed anymore. It literally takes anywhere from 5-20 seconds for EVERY SINGLE PAGE to load. When you think about how often you click around the web, that slows things down a lot. So in the next couple of days I'll be doing some major work with the site, but still, like I said, cut me some slack.

Also notice the season has been changed and it is now fall.

May 9 : The Roll Call is over and all the characters that did not reply have been deleted. Unfortunately, in my fury of deletion, I think I may have deleted some new members that hadn't gotten a chance to reply yet. If that is the case for you, I sincerely apologize, please feel free to resign up. It was not my intention to delete any of the new members.
But, for those of you that were not new and did not reply you have been deleted. You are welcome to rejoin but we do expect activity here. Thank you.
One last thing, a semi-major announcement can be found here.

May 1 : Go here. It's a roll call for the site, if you don't reply in one week, your account is gonna go kaput.

Happy Birthday to Me!! Sorry guys. Ha. But it's my BIRTHDAY! Whoooooooot. So I replied to one of my threads, but the rest will have to wait until tomorrow. Sorry. But, rest assured, I don't work until 5 tomorrow, so they'll be up. I promise.

For quite a bit of time now the only voice Ximun has heard has been no other than his own. His cranium conjuring conversations within himself, question very dynamic subjects. Not once did he bother to ponder on the nonsense subjects such as life and the world around him like many choose too. He continued to question why he was bothering to hike this damned sloping mountain rather than retriveing food for himself or spending his hours lounging among the shrubbary. In fact, some strange force beyond himself had drawn him to this mountain. Something inside of him pressed down upon his shoulder, burdening him to make this seemingly pointless journey. Of course, few may wonder. "why not just question your spirit?" He has not seen his teal and gold guide for a few nights. He had no need to worry, but to wonder. He was not to close with his intelligent flight-gifted spirit, like many where. He was not to distant from her, either. They would get along fine, often remaining near enough to one another to have fair contact with eachother, but not invading eachothers personal space. Just how both of them prefered.

His teal eyes gazed upward for a breif moment, some instinct that he was raised with giving him the timing to notice a large bird flutter among the canopy of the forest. His paused his trot for a breif moment and watched the hazy skies a tad longer before the macaw swung around and fluttered down into the shelter of trees, settling herself gracefully upon a wide branch. They looked toward eachother for the moments they had to spare, somewhat awkwardly stuck on what to say. Finally Ximun brough his vocals to work and gently smiled with his velvet lips, deciding to break the thin ice that had formed between them. "Welcome back, dear friend" pure vocals gently slid firmly into the chilled breeze. His words were strong and dignified, a slight unknow accent of sort tinging his words with an interesting flow.

In return the bi-colored macaw banked silently down and rested upon a closer branch and bobbed her ebony beak, small eyes smiling gloriously down upon the extravagently colored male. He was quite the creature to look upon. His shaggy fur was dazziling with various splashes of reds, oranges, greens, teals, blues and shades of purple. He was somewhat malnourished, the lack of fat upon his bones and muscle causing his pelt to shag alittle more then usual as the skin struggled to grip the fine muscles upon his shoulders and torso. His ears were wide and thick, spread apart upon his average cranium. His legs were lengthy as well as his tail, which he holds at a bent angle. He is almost to an extent where he become undescribable, to say the least. Really, one you must see to understand what they appear as.

Again the large bird bobbed her head in greeting, before swooping in ever closer. Ximun meerly watched, and parted his teal lips as if to talk, but was interupted by an abrupt echo. The beautiful voice of a feminine wolf touched his senses as it was carried with the wind. He smiled gently and tilted his head in the direction, signaling his spirit to scope ahead. She did without question, lifted off the branch and swooping silently into the air. She pumped her intricatly designed wings at an angle, propelling her with agility and spead in the direction of the voice. Ximun watched the beatiful creature of flight dash away in the air before he too turned in the direction. He was curious, to say the least, and contact with another would keep him sane alittle longer.. His stomach was twisting horridly within his frame; metaphorically. Reluctently, he forced himself to ignore the pain of hunger, the hunger that has gripped him for well over a week now.

-----
He has been trotting for quite a bit of time now, his senses more lively, await the next call. He has yet to hear a full fledges howl, but continues to catch the whisper of voices and trusts of scents thrown toward him. He draws ever close to the source, his eyes gazing longingly into the shadows ahead of him. The scent of water and wolves hit his nose. More than one? He shakes his dail in confusion, his mind suddenly racing. "Have I made a mistake and wandered into a packland?" He accuses himself of such stupidity, but he does not stop his pace or turn around. He continues onward. Suddenly a shift in the shadows catches the corner of his eye, and he glances over his shoulder to his left. He can see the macaw returning from her scoping, excited with some information. She gracefully lands herself upon a convienient branch that runs alittle below eye level with Ximun. She shifted impatiently, quickly preparing her speech for her subject.

"I have seen quite extraordinary things, Sir. They have taken place not to far ahead. I managed to reach the location in time to see the rear of a multicolored wolf, similar to yourself, vanish into the face of a waterfall. Many other wolves, it seems, have begun to show up. A young female had sported the howl you heard, but two other female lupin, as well as another male happened to be around as well. Its Quite Extraordinary-"

She cut her own gentle words off, out of breath from talking so quickly and purely. Ximun remained silent for another moment, gazing silently past her, his mind rushing with fresh thoughts. Finally he nodded his muzzle gently before the corners of his lips turned up in a silent thank-you. He sighed and slowly turned his slim frame back in the direction of the howl. His ears pricked, the sweet sound of gushing water seeping into him. He slowly trotted forward once more and gazed gently out of the bushes. His eyes first looked upon the water, just in time to see a pretty little wolf vanish into the water. "And that would be number four, sir." the macaws sweet voice spoke into his thoughts, refering to how many wolves have vanished into the face of the water. His tilted his dial quizically. Something beckond for him to move forward. Hell no, he would disobey his gut this time. He surely was noti going under that water, and most reasonably because he did not wish t walk among the water of dead wolves, or share a confined space with a numbered amount of them.

The howl had attracted another wolf, too. She'd been listening out for the sound of wolves anyway, but that howl had a sound to it that said something interesting might just be going on ...

A stick cracked faintly in the trees above the falls, and then there was the soft sound of footfalls as two grey shapes walked into the open. The wolf strolled ahead, the shadows of the trees playing shapes across the dark fur of her body. Stones clinked against each other as she rested her forepaws in the edge of the river and stood still, her head raised as her grey eyes inspected the wolves standing at the edges of the pool below her.
The other shape was a dog: slender, paler, with the white markings on muzzle, neck and legs that were so characteristic of man's old companion. He quietly picked across the rocks to stand at her side, the white tip of his tail flicking up in the air. He was dwarfed by her, and even standing at this height above the others it was obvious that she was very big. One of her ears swivelled backward, and then forward again as she listened to the fragments of conversation wafting up to her. What was going on?

As one the pair moved forward to the top of the falls, standing to the side of the water as it bubbled past them and leapt downward with a roar. Spray drifted about them and misted their fur. Blinking water from her eyelids the wolf looked down, and made a little sound of surprise. She could see the other wolves now, a bunch of them all standing in the waterfall with their heads together, peering at something behind the falling water ...

Okay, so something interesting was definately happening.

"Let's loudly leap in with no respect for what could be a culturally significant rock-staring competition," the dog whispered, hooking his paws over the edge of the cliff as he peered down as well.
"I love it when you talk sexy," she whispered back, her nose hovering behind his scruff in case she had to grab him. Then she lifted her head and spoke again, at a normal volume this time. Her voice was loud and bright.

"Hey folks, what's going on?"

Sorry this one is shorter and took longer, I've worked a TON lately, like 24 hours in the past two days, so I'm trying to get one up, but I'll get a more substantial one up in the next day or so.

Calypsis was stunned into complete silence. Her jaws hung limp and all the whites of her eyes where clearly visible. Out of thin air, three complete, solid animals had just materialized, two of them of no small size either. Aison, the tiny chipmunk that had, up till now, rested silently between the ears of the lady, was now, as elegantly as was possible for a chipmunk, climbing down his companion towards the floor. The tiny creature didn't seem at all surprised by the events that had just unfolded. The tiny creature reached the cave floor and bowed deeply to the towering creatures.
It is an honor Elders. This is Calypsis, my charge. She is learning quickly the ways of the Shaman like her mother before her, but she is still young. Please, guide her in a way that I cannot, she will be forever grateful. If Calypsis had thought, she would have felt the chipmunk crawling down her front leg, and so, when his speech roused her out of her paralyzing shock, she would not have been surprised to see him on the floor of the cave, but, that's not exactly the way it happened.

The wolf jumped when she realized Aison was no longer perched on her head. Unfortunately for her she hadn't heard what the tiny being had said to the elk, the fox, and the bear, because it would have explained a little at least, but alas, the shock of it all prevented her. Finally realizing that this all really was happening, the wolf shook her head, jarring her sense back into focus. She looked down at Aison, confusion in her eyes, but he did not speak, he simply nodded to her and then, turning, scurried back towards the cave's entrance, finding a rock to perch himself on. Calypsis now alone with the creatures, looked back to them, her body hugged just slightly to the ground. She slunk forward, a couple of steps at most, and, her neck stretched out far, sniffed at the air, trying to make sense of the situation. But, the scents were all there. An elk, a fox, and a bear. Right there in front of her. As the sniffed, the elk took a graceful step forward, bending his head down slightly, the massive rack of antlers on his head nearly the length of Calypsis's entire body. The movement caused Calypsis to jump back again, but she was even more surprise when he began to speak.

"Don't be afraid Calypsis. We are the Ancients, the Elders, we are only here to help you, not as a threat. We are the spirits, collected, and incarnated in these bodies. We are many generations old and we have seen the aging of the earth. Don't be afraid." It seemed as if once more that day, Calypsis's jaws unhinged. Her eyes grew wide again and while she was no longer crouched, she took another step forward, her head craned upward towards the towering form of the elk. "The ancients...I've, well, I've heard stories but.." The wolf spoke more to herself than to the creatures in front of her. It was true, all throughout her childhood she had heard stories of the ancient elders but she had always thought that they were just some of the voices on the winds, she hadn't any idea that they were a true entity of their own.

Snapping back to reality once more, Calypsis quickly realized that she had shown quite a degree of disrespect. These were the elders in front of her, generations of knowledge, of sorrows, and good times, generations of lives collected in one being. It was truly miraculous. The wolf quickly lowered her front half into a deep bow.
"It is a very great honor. I only hope I can do justice to your teachings and guidance."

Her yellow eyes remained glued to the gap in the rock face, staring at the blue interior of the chasm that had remained hidden behind the waterfall for who knew how long. Or had it just suddenly appeared? With as strange as it looked she wasn't about to discredit the idea and toss it out; there certainly had to be stranger things than this. Hadn't her brothers animal guides been able to stay in the general area without any "accidents" happening? That in itself had been a miracle, but not so much as this appeared. How long had the colorful wolf known about it, this great cavern? As a few more eager wolves slipped underneath the waterfall, Snow hardly paid them any attention, just shifting her position in order to make room and still retain her view of the inside of the cavern with an occasional flick of a curious ear. She was far too engrossed in the goings on of the cave to really think about the others. And besides, they were there only to view the same thing she was. Thank goodness for those little spirit animals, or else half these wolves probably wouldn't be here.

Something along the walls had attracted the colorful wolf's eye, and as she moved Snow was disappointed to note that it was out of her eyesight. Usually not one for outwards shows of emotion, she could feel her brow slumping downward into a light frown anyway, irked by the fact something amazing was supposed to be going on and she wouldn't be seeing it. What ever it was, though, that had attracted Calypsis' attention towards the wall seemed to be glowing quite well, giving off a light even that the two-toned wolf could notice outside the cavern. But what was emanating that light? Before her mind really could get a hold on the thought, things began to shift inside the cave, or rather a wind started to pick up. Where had it come from? And why was the light from the wall glowing brighter? Snow felt as if taking a step back might be a good idea, but with many others crammed underneath the waterfall she didn't want to bump into someone and cause a stir. If she moved she would lose the only view she had of the cave, as well, so she stayed put, watching as the wind whipped up within the cavern, pulling up the water with it.

It certainly was a sight to see, the water forming a column that reached from floor to ceiling of the cavern, spinning rapidly around in a circle. How was this possible? Suddenly she was thankful for Haze coming and disrupting her walk up the mountain to bring her here to see this; what ever it was had to really be important to the lands if water and wind were going to begin defying the laws of nature and spin of their own free will. I promise I won't complain about what ever home you pick out for us, she mentally thought, the furrow in her brow disappearing to be replaced by her usual blank look, though there was definitely a curious shine to her eyes. Whether that was caused by the light radiating from within the cavern, no one would probably know, but it was there. With the same speed as it had picked up, the water and wind stopped circling within the cave, revealing an even more startling sight - which Snow was thankful to see wasn't just surprising to herself. Now standing with the colorful wolf was an elk, a fox, and a bear, each looking just as real as if they had walked right on in with the wolf to begin with.

Apparently the sight of the three other animals within the cave came as a start to the multihued wolf as well, causing her to first jump then slink forward along the cave floor, as if unsure of what to make out of these new faces. They seemed real enough to Snow from where she stood, completely soaked from the waterfall and mist cirlcing them. One of the animals moved though, the elk, and the colorful one jumped again. It spoke something to the wolf, and Snow strained to pick up its words over the roar of the waterfall. Something about elders, spirits, and earth? The wolf within the cavern appeared to be able to make more sense of this than the two-toned wolf could, performing a move that looked like a bow from where Snow was looking. So they're spirits then? she mused, wishing she could hear what was being said inside the blue cavern better, or that the waterfall would quiet down a bit to make it easier for them to listen.

Yay...I'm almost to the point where she will come out of the cave so it will be more interactive for the rest of you. Sorry, I know this is kind of hard for you all to reply to at the moment.

The rainbow colored lady was astonished but she was doing her best to keep her shock hidden and show respect to the legends standing in front of her. This was something that certainly didn't happen to everyone. The ancients were standing right in front of her. It was a miracle really. The lady stood from her bow, though remained humble in the present of such great spirits. For a moment, she was about to speak and then thought better of it. The ancients had called her here, they obviously had something to say to her. And then, as if they had read her thoughts, which in truth they probably had, the bear stepped forward. She was a towering, lumbering creature and nothing one could ignore even if they wanted to. Her voice, though feminine still had the powerful ring of the bear, and she spoke easily, her words flowing without effort.

"Calypsis, you will become a great shaman, just as your mother before you. Continue your training and practice the healing arts. We are watching you, and you are doing well, but do not veer from your course." The bear paused and Calypsis, for a moment, was bold enough to think that that was the brunt of what she had been called here for. Praise. How very prideful and wrong she was. But then, bringing the high-flying wolf back down to earth, was another voice. The voice of the fox, who had so far been hanging around the rear of the group, lurking half in the shadowy recesses of the cave, half in the light. His voice was something of it's own. It was apparent that he had a silver tongue from the start. His voice, deep and masculine, had just a hint of an exotic ancient with the slightest undercurrent of roguishness, as if you had to decide each time he spoke whether he was being truthful or not. And still, there was some sort of authority when he spoke, and, protruding from the shadows entirely for the first time, he did.

"But. She is not the one. She does not belong in the position she carries, so loosely as it is." Calypsis didn't have any idea what to make of his words. They were slow, drawn out, and emphasized. What did he mean, what was he talking about? Before she could even begin to formulate words to respond, the elk stepped in the path of the fox and snorted at him almost as a warning, before turning his head back to Calypsis. She didn't know what to do. Her tail had tucked ever so slightly between her legs and she had the look of a scolded pup on her face. But then, the elk spoke again. "What he means Calypsis, is that you are not destined to be an Alpha. You do not belong at the head of a pack, it is not your calling."

As it was Calypsis was barely an Alpha of anything. New wolves had just begun to discover the land that she called her home and many were doing the same. There were loose groups but really, not very organized packs. Regardless, Calypsis had fancied herself leading one, being the "top dog" if you will. But, it was clear, that was not what the ancients had in mind for her. "I...I see. I will step down then, leave the task to a more capable wolf." Truthfully, inside, she was hurt a little. She thought that she would have made a good Alpha, but it just wasn't the case apparently. The fox had once again melted into the shadows behind his companions and only a dark orange shadow was visible, pacing slowly behind the two much larger creatures.

"Do not be ashamed Calypsis. It is simply not your path. Go now. Tell the others. Form your packs. Keep to your studies. We will see you very soon. Do not forget this place or this day." And with that, before the wold could even begin to formulate a response, the water shot up from the floor of the cave once more, enveloped the ancients, and in a split second, Calypsis was standing alone in the cave once more. She blinked her eyes hard, and all there was were the scratchings on the cave wall in the shape of the three animals. Had that really happened? The wolf shook her head hard, forcing herself to sort out her thoughts and finally, turned around, facing the now exit to the cave. And as she slipped through the tiny opening, she found herself standing among the vast majority of the inhabitants of Enigma...

Ayita watched the falls from her spot away from the group. She couldn't get comfortable being in with them but where she was was just fine. Though Mausu kept telling her to go and find out what was going on she preferred not to. She didn't like being nosy.

She watched as Calypsis emerged from the fall and stood surrounded by all. It seemed like almost every wolf in the area was drawn here as Mausu whispered in her ear. "something is happening listen and you will see"

Ayita gave a nod and stepped a few strides closer to the group still at least two or three feet away from them. He looked at Calypsis with a smiled. It was good to see that she did not end up stuck where ever she was. Mausu had her curiosity peaked once again and she wanted to know what was going to happen.

((Is working on a new table Darn it! Why does this keep happening!?!?!? I forgot to switch accounts again... Wah!))

Terralee whirled around as she heard a wolf pass under the waterfall once more. It was her! Calypsis! The wolf she'd met along with the male... What was his name?... Skarldemarsh! That was it! He'd been gored by a stag, and he'd been in real bad shape. Her tail wagged slightly asshe realized the she knew someone. She'd not done much socializing since her arival. She wanted very much to have a large group of friends, but she was weary oth others. At least, until she got to know them. "Calypsis!" She called across the pool to the other fae, eyes large with excitment and curiosity. "Calypsis! Qué -er- What happened?"

The grey wolf and dog turned and made their way down the side of the waterfall. It took a little while; the slope was steep, the brush thick, and the rocks liable to slide underfoot without warning. By the time they stepped out onto the level where the other wolves all gathered, a new wolf had walked out of the falls into the middle of that colourful group. So that's what they'd all been looking at ...

Archipluvian stopped at the edge of the other wolves, close enough to hear what answer the wolf apparently called 'Calypsis' might give, but far enough away that she'd have space to dodge any attack from the strangers. With her size, though, it didn't look like she'd have much difficulty holding her own in a fight. Almost any female would be smaller than her, and a good many males as well. The only other thing that might stand out at a glance - and in this situation, what other kind would she get? - would be if someone realised that the things hanging infront of her back legs were actually another smaller pair of hinds. But she was drab, really, and right now? Just part of the audience.

Pthalo stood close to her, glancing around uneasily. As a dog, and an obvious one to boot, he was feeling decidedly out of place. "Quite a gathering," he muttered.
