Personality - Elandra is a charismatic person who is frequently pleased to partake in a conversation with her fellow peers. This is most likely due to the lack of socializing that she had experienced during her years at home. Almost contradictory to this point, she can also prove to be an ideal listener if the occasion calls for it and is always willing to lend advice to when the need arises. Once she has become close to someone, the young woman has no qualms in showing random displays of affection such as sudden hugs. She loves to be around others and has an underlying mischievous hint that clicks well with others of a similar nature. Due to that somewhat impish portion of her persona, the female will at times find herself partaking in a playful prank or immersed in an entertaining situation. Amusing mishaps simply happen to come with the package.

The strong willed young woman doesn't often enjoy spending time with overly egotistical mortals who look down upon others in a cruel fashion. She also harbors similar feelings regarding individuals whose attitudes derive from the way their peers act, for she feels that everyone should show their true personality whenever possible. After all, how can people come to like or understand you if you're not even sure how you want to behave? She enjoys having a rival or two present, feeling that they spice things up, though she does not like to goad others in a cruel way unless the two truly loath one another. A friendly competitiveness is more her style.

Although she is perceived as having a usually outgoing persona, the female rather likes to spend some time each day in a secluded area where she can sift through her rapid thoughts or indulge herself in an entertaining piece of literature. She has an optimistic view of most things and can normally be found portraying a content nature. Due to her ability to think swiftly, she possesses a stratigical mind that allows her to excel at planning maneuvers whether it is in sports, everyday life, or her organizational skills. Stemming from this comes a sense of competitiveness that leads her to not only love many athletic activities, but enjoy taking many risks as well. She has a strong set of morals however, and doesn’t feel the need to sway from them.

Amid her strong points, the young woman also possesses the usual amount of faults that one picks up over a period of time. For example, because she is used to masking her emotions from those around her, she finds it difficult to convey any worrisome matters or thoughts that come her way, even if sometimes it would be best for her to share them. Because of this, she sometimes suffers from terrible stomachaches that leave her sick for days. Also, her dreadful dislike of the supernatural and being confined in the dark makes her unruly and even firmly stubborn at times depending on the situation. Elandra can be hard to sway once she is convinced of a certain thing, though is not easily offended if proven wrong in the end. Depending on her mood, one could catch her with a fiery and unruly temper, something that is most apparent while she is under stress.

Appearance - Elandra's appearance, while obviously unique unto itself, tends to lean towards her mother’s influence rather then her male guardian’s. Her hair is fair in tint, unlike her father’s and sister’s ebony locks. It differs between the seasons, the light blond acquiring a silvery sheen during the winter months while becoming much more golden during the summer. She has no personal preference between the two, though has noticed that the ethereal winter hue draws more intrigued gazes. Her silken locks are straight almost to the point of being unnaturally so, though when they reach elbow length the ends tend to curl to either side. The female prefers to keep it at a few inches below her shoulder though. Not being one to bother at fiddling with her hair, the light strands are most commonly found cascading downwards.

One of the young woman’s most revealing features are her eyes. The pair are a tranquil blue-green hue that resembles the tint of the ocean waves on a clear day. While she is generally one to keep her more personal emotions in check, her gaze has been known to betray her in the past. Generally though, since she doesn’t take pleasure from sharing her vendettas with others, she tries to avoid allowing said feeling to be displayed. The two shimmering orbs have a sheen liquid quality to them and shift from brighter to duller shades depending on her mood.

Elandra possesses ivory hued skin, its fair color enhanced by her pale locks. Although she spends much time out in the sun when the opportunity presents itself, the best she can get out of it is a golden tan rather then the bronze look some can obtain. The twenty year old is of average height, standing at approximately 5'8". She has quite a slender build, though not in a sickly manner. Her slim figure is accentuated with a few subtle curves with underlying muscle faintly apparent. A faint, three inch scar resides on the right hip, angling upwards somewhat towards her back. The thin memento was the result of a slip-up she made at a young age while practicing her diving in a nearby lake, misjudging her plunge and cutting open her side.

The young woman’s ears were both pierced while she was still young. She has never been one to wear great dangling earrings and instead prefers subtle jewelry. Unlike most females, she isn’t one to wear very noticeable make up, not seeing its overall importance. When goaded for special occasions however she does not mind making an exception. Her thrill of wearing fancy attire or anything dress-like whatsoever is quite similar. While she enjoys wearing flowing or flattering clothing, she is not partial to wearing dresses often. If the occasion calls for it though, she does not disappoint.

Likes:
The Water - For as long as she can remember, water has always been Elandra's favorite element. Due to this, some of her favorite activities include swimming, spending time at the beach, or even just sitting by a serene lake and enjoying the scenery.

Singing - When one is forced to stay within the confinements of their home, one tends to find simple ways of entertaining themselves. For this young woman, one of her distractions happened to be singing. She did it from a young age and continues to do it now, having a clear and melodious voice that she is proud of.

Sweets - It seems fitting that a cheery individual would enjoy sweets, and this female just happens to. Although she is not one to indulge in candy very often, she does enjoy chocolate and feels that it's good to have a little bit every once in awhile.

Stargazing - While living with her parents, Elandra would often sneak out during the evening hours when her family had gone to sleep in order to wander outside and, on many occasions, just to lie beneath the stars in the meadow behind their home. She loves being out at night time and stargazing happened to brim from this hobby of hers.

Socializing – Although this option was stifled during her years at home, the female has found that she loves to meet others and spend time with them in recent years.

Reading/Writing - Due to the fact that much of her time was spent indoors, Elandra always found time during the day to read portions of her favorite novels or write fanciful stories within her journal. Although she has much more freedom now, the female still enjoys both pastimes.

Dislikes:
Arrogance - One trait in individuals that Elandra can not stand is arrogance, for she tends to not get along with said people. The characteristic is often associated with bullies and uppity characters who she either avoids or has quite interesting conflicts with.

Gossip - While harmless chatter does not both her, the female feels that cruel words that possibly do not even derive from truth are a waste of time.

Betrayal - No matter what the situation, whether she had confided in someone or simply trusted in their friendship, Elandra is always especially hurt when she has been betrayed by someone.

The Supernatural - Although she is unaware of the reason, the young woman finds things such as aliens, ghosts, and poltergeists quite unnerving and will avoid anything to do with them in most situations.

Flaws: Although she possesses many talents, Elandra is also lacking in many areas that others are not. Climbing, for instance, is an inability that has haunted her for years. Stemming from her fear of heights, the female always seems to get clumsier when faced with the task of clambering upwards, ending in the ungraceful event of her usually falling. Another ability that she has tried, but failed, to master over the years is the ability to draw. While she used to do it every once in awhile, the young woman has long since given up on ever being able to make her artistry resemble anything that exists. One of the inabilities that she is most concious of is the fact that she is unable to snap her fingers. No matter how hard she tries, the girl can not produce a sound! She's never told anyone that however.

Talents: Elandra is talented in a variety of areas, not all of them connected noticeably. Martial arts, for one, is one of her most prominent skills due to her nearly eighteen years of training in the field. Along with that came the ability to wield an array of weapons and excel in areas such as gymnastics in order to complete some of the more lithe movements in her practice. A more common seeming trait that she possesses is the ability to track other beings and cook well, skills that branched off from her time journeying alone.

Phobias:
Spiders - After having two arachnids jump in sequence onto her face as a youth, Elandra has harboured a strong dislike for spiders and tends to dispose of them as swiftly as possible when found in her residence.

Heights - Ever since she was a toddler and was hung off their second story balcony by her older sister, the female has been terrified of heights. When persuaded to stand on an overhang or the top of a steep drop, she usually ends up sitting as far away from the mentioned ledge as possible or clinging to whoever she is with. This display of slight weakness frustrates her to no end, making her slightly tempermental after such events occur.

History: Elandra was born into a strict household; the offspring of Catherine and Damien Maerdyn. As a baby, she exhibited the natural curiosity and cheerful traits that many infants do, but her parents always treated her with a somewhat solemn attitude, though they did love her immensely. It wasn't in their nature to show outward spurts of affection, so therefore it was only to be assumed that their children would be the same. The Maerdyn's firtborn child Demetria behaved in a similar manner to how they saw fit, so why should their second be any different?

To the couple's dismay, their attempts at shaping Elandra's personality failed terribly, though it was not as bad as they had imagined. At a young age she acted as many others her age did, though soon learned to mask her emotions in order to halt her parents growing anger. It seemed that everytime she did not act accordingly, the amount of disappointment that they possessed increased rapidly, and it was apparent even if they tried not to show it.

Damien Maerdyn relieved himself of his frustration each day by practicing weaponry or combat training which he did during every possible moment. The male was a strict follower of the ancient Asian beliefs, and thought that such skills were good to have. Catherine though, bottled up her feelings, leading to an increased amount of stomach and headaches on her part. Even though such behaviour on the guardian’s part was strange enough as it was, they absolutely refused to let their daughters leave the house for an unknown reason which they weren't keen on sharing. This rule did not stop their youngest child from sneaking out every once in awhile once she was older, but only increased her urge to do so.

As soon as the youngest female learned to walk, her father included her in the regular martial arts sessions that he instructed Demetria in, aware that it was always best to begin as soon as possible in ones life. Almost instantly, things seemed to come natural to the youth as she was able to flow gracefully between moves and still place power into her strikes. Because she and her elder sibling were home schooled, more time was given to the girl to practice her techniques, allowing it to grow steadily for a long period of time.

At the age of eighteen, Elandra tossed aside the confined atmosphere that was her own home and set out to pursue a less constricting lifestyle. Although her parents suffered little grief from her absence, the young woman still harbors shreds of guilt and doubt about her course of action, though she feels that they will wear off as time passes. Before leaving, the young woman gathered up her entire savings, for although she had not had many opportunities to spend it, her parents had given her an allowance, knowing that she would not always reside at how. Since then, she has been traveling from city to city, gaining worldly experience, trying an abundance of jobs, and meeting a variety of interesting individuals.
