Crossroads of Destiny:
Vol.1 - The Sons of Yggdrasil Chapter One: The Celestial Purge It was by the order of King Yggdrasil himself, Three of us took upon the task of eliminating the residents of the holy region. We raised hell on holy grounds. We didn’t understand why but it was considered finished and had to be done. The Doors were broken down several of our Knightmon rushed in taking control of the building our main task was to find and eliminate Seraphimon, the lord of the hierarchy (a group that consisted of the six lead celestial angels) and ruler of the holy region. When the moment of his elimination would come to pass, the holy region, no, the entire digital world would witness the rise of Yggdrasil and our elite order, The Royal Knights. “By the wrath of King Drasil!” (Drasil is short for Yggdrasil). A Knightmon shouted as he pierced through the heart of a Piddomon trying to escape, tough luck… We knew what we were stepping into as soon as we took the mission that’s why more than half of us declined Drasil’s request The Knightmon were brainwashed numbskulls as for us we were human no matter how powerful our Digimon forms were deep down inside we knew we were killing hundreds and possibly thousands of Digimon without showing any remorse, it was disgusting… “Lord Omnimon! Dominimon has escaped!” A Knightmon had shouted my name at the top of his lungs. Without a second to lose (literally) I shifted through the walls like a light being turned on and off continuously until I reached Dominimon, If I didn’t know any better I would have confused him for Lord Seraphimon himself. It was a stand down, no one blinked or for a second thought to move until Dominimon broke the ice. “Why?! Why Are the Royal Knights attacking the Holy Region? This against the law of the sovereigns you fool!” I will never forget him calling me a fool; those last words made him regret every last moment of his miserable life… “History lesson, Royal Knights do not bow down to the Sovereigns, we have but one god” I raised my grey sword; the sunlight shimmered across the blade and I could almost taste the fear in Dominimon’s expressions “It’s time for a change in the digital world and it begins with the purge of the celestial angels!” Many say I struggled that day, saying my victory was handed to me by nearly an inch of my life. I beg to differ. Rushing at the celestial angel my blade had sliced Dominimon in half, his data scattered, the remains of the so called great dominion glittered in sunshine, a pity, he lived and died liked a coward… then again, they were all cowards… We took control of the holy hall within minutes of our arrival and only hours until we conquered several areas all over the holy region, it was swift and steady (just how I like it). If anybody would have told us otherwise they would have been lying in the dust of data all across the ground joining the condemned angels in internal slumber. And incase you were wondering, the good guys don’t win in this story. Even with his holy land being burned to the ground, Seraphimon was nowhere to be found. Didn’t we tell you all of them were cowards? This was the perfect example of my comment before; we found a fortress it was a beautiful golden sphere (not for long) designed to keep us out (again, not for long). My squadron of Knightmon and obviously myself waited for reinforcements to arrive so we could surround the sphere fortress and force his majesty out of there (It was assumption that he was within the fortress, guess what? Not for long). “Lord Omnimon, glad to see your okay, we’ve eliminated GuardiAngemon and Cherubimon, as for ClavisAngemon and Ophanimon those two are nowhere to be found” Duftmon my tactical second in command, a prestigious Royal Knight. Next to him stood another of Drasil’s most elite, Dynasmon a passionate warrior, and physically the strongest of all Royal Knights. He only spoke when he felt it was necessary, I respected him for that. “Seraphimon is hiding inside that sphere, he’s coming out one way or the other” The other several hundred squadrons of Knightmon arrived and quickly surrounded the fortress; this was going to be fun. “Knightmon! On my order we shall attack the sphere all at once, brace you for this is the dusk of the celestial angels!” The thunderous cheers of the Knightmon echoed, I personally thought it was heard all over the digital world that day. If your guardian angels were meeting their doom wouldn’t you feel the sorrow? Duftmon, Dynasmon and I each rose up above the hundreds of Knight awaiting orders. “Obliterate that sphere!” Each one of those swords beneath us ignited as soon as I gave the word, the Knightmon charged with electrical slashes; imagine a small jolt of lightning times a thousand and that was the impact the sphere took. “DNA Disintegrator!!” “Black Aura Blast!” “Supreme Cannon!!” Our three massive (godly) attacks combined with the energy of the Knightmon and not even a scratch was made, that sphere from the moment I laid eyes on it I knew it was an annoyance. Duftmon, Dynasmon and obviously all the Knightmon stared shocked at the results; they couldn’t believe that fortress remained indomitable, but if we only knew how vulnerable Seraphimon was inside that sphere (and believe me we did). “Lord Seraphimon!” My voice was heard loud and clear, no other sound coming from anywhere “If you continue to hide from your fate, the holy region will continue to diminish!” If that full blown attack didn’t open the gates of that fortress, the fool’s guilt did. Seraphimon appeared with his head held high, slowly walking away from the gates, and preparing to meet his end. Before we could realize it battalions of Angemon emerged from the opening of the fortress. “For Lord Seraphimon!” They roared into battle, too bad Duftmon decided to end their charade quicker than their arrival “Extinction Wave!” A wave of chaotic proportions swept more than half of the Angemon as for the other half; well Dynasmon took care of that. Seraphimon had been paralyzed; all of his holy warriors had perished before his eyes. As powerful as he was, we were ten times greater than his abilities. It was the end of the road for the Lord of the Hierarchy. Just like Dominimon, we both remained silent, but this time I broke the ice. “Any last words?” Seraphimon was much more wiser than Dominimon no words or motions came out, until he broke his silence “We all make decisions in our lives and each decision has a consequence even decisions forced about us have consequences one day, remember that Lord Omnimon, for you are now on top of the world” It took me awhile to understand exactly what he meant, but in the final moments of his life I admired him, respected his last will… “Say your prayers… Transcendent Sword!” I wasted no more time, I finished what I had come for, the rest was Drasil’s problem… Many still wondered what actually occurred that day, many say we took help from the nightmare soldiers… we didn’t… the destruction of the holy region was inflicted by us, the sons of Yggdrasil, The Royal Knights. Those pathetic viruses dwelling in the dark area took no part in this, and in what so many didn’t realize until it was too late to change; the end of days was upon us… |
