Hello there (again)! My name is Jack Spinner. Clearly, from my username, you can see that. And from this topic title, and the first sentence of this post, you can see that I'm saying 'Hello, there!', which would now be the fourth time I've said that. I hope you get the message! Anyway, pardon my rambling, I'm not new to writing, but I am to RPing, so if you could give me some guidelines, I'd be very appreciative!

Avast, ye scurvy dog! Welcome to the Chaos Clock! Ye be warned: all who enter soon loose what little sanity dey once 'ad.

Also, hi.

As for RPing, the only difference between writing and RPing is you share the story with someone else. There are some subtle nuances to it all, but I'm sure someone will eventually get around to explaining those. I am here simply to say hi, as i have already done, and to warn you of your eminent loss of sanity, even if such a loss has already happened or is not needed.

Toodles~

Hello and good day! Welcome to Chaos Clock. I see Blood has already warned you, so I shall refrain from repeating it.

And he is right, there is little difference between typical writing and RPing. There are two ways you can go about RPing: Make your own, or join someone else's. Since you're new to the whole idea, I'd recommend joining before making your own.

Also, you might want to take a look at this topic and maybe some of the others in the same forum. They should help clear up a few things... at least I hope they do. I'm not terribly good at explaining.

Feel free to explore the other sections of the site, there is plenty to write/post up and talk about. Just don't be too surprised when there seems to be a lag of activity, sometimes people get busy or forget.

Oh. Well, that clears a few things up a bit. Anyway, thank you very much for your welcomes!! I appreciate them. I took your advice and looked at a couple of RPs. I really liked 'Once Upon A Time', 'A Shadow Out Of Memry', and '13th Great Magi War'. Any opinions on those?

I am not in Once Upon a Time myself, so I don't really have much to say. A Shadow Out of Memry, however, is something I was in for a time. It's an excellent RP and I would recommend it.

13th Great Magi War... is in a difficult state. On its last legs as it were... but if you wish to join, that might be just what we need to help kick-start things again and get going.

All right. I thought 'Once Upon A Time' looked intriguing, but you're not in it, you say? Hmmm. I shall have to find someone who is and ask them. But '13th Great Magi War' is open and dying? Would you mind if I used that to test-drive my new RPing methods? You recommend 'A Shadow Out Of Memry' as well, right? Well, then, I have two possibles. That's a decent start, I guess.

Hello new person!!

I be the insane Veryan, or Ver if you like! And I really hope you enjoy your experience on Chaos Clock! I see Blood and Drake have outlined some of the RPing basics for you, so my work is already done. laugh.gif

As far as Once Upon a Time goes, it's also on it's last legs. It's a good RP, and I enjoy it, but it's been losing its steam...

I might also suggest Worldly Conflictions, if you fancy a more modern day setting. It's a fun little RP where we can all be mutants! Yay! happy.gif

I looked at WC, but it just looked like X-Men. Is it all right if I say that? Anyway, I love anything to do with re-telling fairy tales, which is why I thought 'Once Upon A Time' looked like fun. I shall have to pick a fairy tale and pop in! Moving on, thanks for the welcome, Veryan, or Ver, whatever! And hello, Falcon! Somehow I missed you on the first go round.

Fade is the leader of WC, so that's more of a question to her. icon_4laugh.gif

But I'm glad you've found others that you like!

Oh, dear. Well, I hope I didn't offend anyone. Anyway, I was thinking 'Jack and the Beanstalk' or 'Rumplestiltskin' for my fairy tale. That could prove to be quite exciting!

Hello, hello, Mr. Spinner!

Welcome to Chaos Clock!!! I'm really glad you've joined up, now I have someone else to torture!!! I mean, role-play with.... M2k_-_Cheshire_Cat_Smiley.gif

I started Once Upon a Time, and right now it's in some trouble. But I think you could possibly pull off either of those two fairy-tales!! I'd really like to see you go with Rumplestiltskin....that could prove amusing....

Hello, hello, Disney Princess! Or, Ms. Silverwing! So you started 'Once Upon A Time'? That's grand! I think it's an excellently superb idea! 'Rumplestiltskin' seems to be the more logical choice. Giants typically aren't known for subtle interfuge. And thanks for the welcome! Thank you, one and all! You people certainly are nice!

I read your posts; they were nicely done! Good job!

Of course, keep in mind that character interaction is really important, since you're telling a story with more than just you, you know?

And thanks for telling us we're nice; not many people do that nowadays. I wonder why? Harley_Quinn_by_elvereth.gif
