What kind of RPG is this?This is an intermediate RPG, which means we go by a strict set of standards that include a word count, grammar and spelling checks, and a thorough application process.
What is the post count?The post count for this forum is 300 words, regardless of what kind of character you're playing. It is mandatory for everyone and can be no less, but can be more if you so choose it to be.
What is the theme?This game is based on the Anita Blake novels that were written by Laurell K. Hamilton. While the game itself is based around the concept and information many aspects have changed.
What is the rating?This is a mature game not intended for those under the age of eighteen. We will be a bit lenient and allow players as young as fourteen, though only if they can handle what is found on the board as well as what they will encounter along the way.
What is the setting?Darkness On Rise takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada in the year 2008, early in the winter.
What are supernaturals?Anything defined as being not human or even remotely in-human is considered a supernatural, be they from another plane of existence or another country.
Can I play a high ranking character?These kinds of characters require administrator permission. If you have questions about the kind of character to play please see our list of available character positions, which can be found in the Character Information board.
Can I play a bad guy?While we respect the diversity, in order to play a bad guy one has to have administrator permission, as there are certain plots that go with bad characters. Villains are integral to the storyline and thus the administration has to work closely with those that want to apply for one.
What are the different races?We have created a comprehensive database that explains the different races involved in Darkness On Rise. There will be notes on which ones are available for play, and there are rules that go with each breed of creature. So please read through the rules regarding the one that you would like to apply for, as there may be something rather important to character creation located within.
What groups are there?Again we have a database. Please take a look at the list involving positions in the groups. We are looking for key members of the affiliations and if you're curious as to which ones you can play, just ask the administration.
What if I've never read the Anita Blake novels?That's perfectly alright. We made this game with a lot of information in order to give our players a feel for Anita's world, despite having read the books or not. If there are any questions that remain unanswered, however, please PM Addison Brooks with them.
