The sexy, seductive way vamps have been protrayed in the movies? You think it's all sex and blood? Well, let me tell you... it's not. No, my friends. It's much worse. It's nothing like the movies, folks. Drinking blood is vile and disgusting. But then again, the hunger is worse. God, you crave it. You need it. And there is a point, where you can think of nothing else. You can see the blood coursing through a stranger's jugular... a woman, a child. Hell, even animals too and your body calls for you to rip open the throat of the poor old lady you just helped cross the street. And the feedings... they just get easier and easier. Before I go on, let me go back a bit and clear up a few... misconceptions. Vampires and their weaknesses. Garlic, holy water, stakes, silver... It's all complete bullshit. Garlic is good in marinara. Holy water? Don't get me started. Stakes won't kill us either. Driven straight through the heart, yeah sure, it'll paralyze us. But you better hope your ass is gone when we get up or you just might find out what blood lust is truly like first hand. Now sunlight and your good ol' trusty decaptitation? Hell yeah. That'll kill us. Sunlight is a given. Being creatures of the night and all. Even then, some of the purebloods are more resistant to sunlight than you'd expect. Beheading is a dangerous job for mortals too. I'd like to see a human get close enough to try and stake us, let alone behead us. We can hear your little heart beating in your chest from a mile away. Now where was I? Ah... When you're sired, you are told about the blood lust, "taking more than you need" and killing your prey. The longer you live, though, you find that that is harder and harder to avoid. Let me tell you, blood lust is a bitch. And it will happen. Even the best of us slip up every once in a while and kill our food. However, do it enough and you lose yourself -- who and what you are. You become feral and need to be put down. And that's where I come in. I am a slayer. No, this isn't Buffy shit, kids. This is real life. There are things out there that are worse than even me. Things that threaten the existence of all life. And it's a slayer's job to hunt them. Demons and Ferals -- they're everywhere and humans don't even know it. We're the hunters that stand between them... and you. But lately, things have been a bit... different. Demons are growing in number, escaping the Underworld faster than we can take them out. Armies are starting to form beneath the surface. Something is coming. We can feel it. A new evil is rising in the dark. And when it comes, nothing will be able to stand in its way. The year of Abaddon the Destroyer has come, I know that now. I only hope we can stop the gathering forces before all hell breaks loose. Literally.
