Edward watched her try to be fierce and place her hand on her hips and couldn't help but laugh lightly. He wasn't laughing in a mean way although what amused him the most was how she failed at looking fierce but at least she tried. He enjoyed her trying and how she seemed to be opening up to him more and more as time went on. Soon, he knew, she'd be past all of these feeling that she had been carrying around with her since her ex. He watched her, and amused expression on his face, as she searched for her shirt and found it.

As she walked over to him he opened his mouth to reply but stopped as she leaned in to kiss him. She was getting better, he noticed. He was glad she seemed to like kissing as much as he did and was not the type of girl that took things at a snails pace, not kissing until later on in the relationship or doing other things, of course. This whole day would have been very different if she had been that type of girl. He personally thought girls that had those views were overrated and defiantly not for him. He nodded in reply to her question, trying to think of somewhere they could go and had a few ideas but he had no idea what she was in the mood for and what kind of food she liked more than others. This was their first date. He didn't want to take her somewhere she hated. "Do you have anywhere in mind," he asked before he took her hand and began leading her out of his room. They walked past one of his sisters who gave him an questioning look. Her questions were obvious to Edward. She was obviously wondering why he was bothering to g somewhere with her and why he was holding his hand. Edward wasn't the type to hold hands at all. He glared at her sharply for a moment then softened his expression once more.

As Edward thought of a place they might go to eat, Bella looked around the room some more, just to make sure she collected all of her clothes – she didn’t want to look like a fool if they left and people saw her missing some clothes. Luckily, she had everything on. When he spoke again, she turned back to him, smiling. Then she shrugged. She leaned over to kiss him once more briefly, just enjoying being around him, being with him. After she straightened and stepped back, she looked thoughtful for a few moments, trying to decide what she was in the mood for – she was starving, so it was kind of hard to choose.

After a moment she said, “Do you like Chinese? Because I really do. And I think that’s what I want.” After a moment’s pause she spoke again. “Of course, if you’d rather we have something else, then that’s okay.” She smiled sweetly at him when he stood and grabbed her hand, leading her out of his room. She made sure to shut his door behind them. When they passed a girl – she figured it was one of his sisters – she saw the confused look she gave, but Bella didn’t think much of it. She smiled a little at her. She gave Edward’s hand a little squeeze, just because. She felt good, happy. She wondered if Edward might feel the same.

As they walked past his sister he looked back at her for a moment and noticed that she was shacking her head. He opened his mouth to say something to her but he held it in. He could talk to her later and Bella was already talking. He directed his attention to her and was glad she didn't want something like McDonald's. He hated it. Edward was pretty well off and was used to good food. That was yet another reason Fallen Stars had really annoyed him. Chinese is good. In fact there is a really good place near here," he told her. He's never taken anyone on a date there. Not that he has been on very many dates to begin with but he figured it would work.

He lead her out of the house where his father was in the same exact place doing the same exact thing as when Bella changed. That's what the man tended to do. He was a simple person, really. Simple yet surprisingly dark if you bother to get to know what he's really like.. Edward glanced at him out of the corner of his eye before he quickly opened the door and let her out first. His father had taught him manners. Edward found this painfully ironic seeing as the man tended not to bother to even practice common decency around him let alone manners. Still, Edward found his rare times when he needed them and this was one of them. He figured that maybe he would need them more often if this relationship with Bella lasted. He wasn't bothered by that at all, to his surprise. He walked down the steps and toward the sidewalk. "Ok. Before I can officially call you my girlfriend I have to ask you one question. he announced, his tone actaully rather serious. Just to add to the effect he paused before smiling at her. "You're on a stranded island and have three DVD you can bring. What exactly would they be? Be careful though, this could cost you your relationship and spending time with with someone as great as myself," he said. Really, he just wanted to know what kind of movies she'd like so that if ever she got mad at him or something he could surprise her but acting as if it was some sort of test made it a bit less awkward. Hopefully. He was also curious if she had the same sense of humor that he did or if he was in for chick flicks. He figured they'd watch movies together. Wasn't that a standard couple thing? He had no idea but it sounded like one.

Bella smiled brightly when he agreed to Chinese. It was one of her favorite foods, and she was glad that he liked it enough to be willing to take her out to eat it. Bella wondered briefly how many dates Edward had ever been on. If she had to guess, she’d say he probably hadn’t been on many. Not only did he not really seem like the type to go out on dates, but he just seemed kind of… well, ‘relationship-retarded’. It sounded a bit on the crude side to her, but it was how she saw him. But she planned on changing that – they had a relationship, right? And he was really the one who had initiated the relationship, right? Right. So she figured they’d do pretty good.

Isabella tried not to noticed that his father was sitting in the same exact spot, doing the same exact thing that he had been doing when she’d arrived there… what? About an hour or so ago? She didn’t think it would be a good idea to acknowledge the man, so she didn’t. She smiled a little at Edward when he let her out first, holding the door for her. She walked beside him down towards the sidewalk. At his rather random question, Bella blinked, watching him. Then she laughed a little, looking thoughtful. “Well, I don’t really know.” She sighed a little, thinking still. “I guess it would all depend on how I was feeling at the time.” Since her answer was pretty lacking, she turned to face him, grinning. “I’m pretty sure it won’t cost me my relationship, because I know you don’t want to get rid of someone as great as me.” Still grinning she grabbed the front of his shirt and leaned up on her toes, touching her lips to his briefly, teasingly. As she settled back on her feet, she turned again, walking some more beside him, smiling softly.

When she thought about his question, he then realized that most people didn't attend rehab. Most people did not have enough time to kill to come up with answers to that kind of question and just answer it without any thought at all as he could. He felt like a complete idiot just then and looked forward, wanting to get to the restaurant as soon as possible. He really had no idea what he was doing and wondered how obvious it was. He hoped it wasn't too painful. When stopped and answered he felt relieved that at least she had thought of something to say. When she leaned up to touch is lips he couldn't help but smile.

He continued walking along when he noticed an older, rather large lady walking down the opposite sidewalk. "I don't know, Bella. That lady keeps giving e this look and I know that she's really into me," he told her, making a small gesture toward her. "And from what I'm thinking, she may be just as great as you. I guess you're just going to have to prove your greatness to me," he added, stopping and looking at her expectedly. He expected a real kiss or something. A cool smile was on his lips while inside he was really freaking out. What if she didn't find him funny? What if they had nothing to talk about in the restaurant? What if she got food poisoning? Relationships were extremely complicated, he was slowly figuring out, and he wasn't sure exactly what to make of any of it. He was trying hard to make it seem as though he knew exactly what he was doing. A bit too hard, perhaps.
