What's everyone reading this summer? This is one of the last summers of my educational career (grad school is in the mix, but we'll see when and where that is), and I love it because of how much more I can read.

Best thing I've read so far has been some Cormac McCarthy. In particular, "The Road" and "All the Pretty Horses." I'd read "Blood Meridian" a while back, and it was incredible.

Other than that, Pynchon's "The Crying of Lot 49" sticks out.

Oh, and I should point out that I'm back. Hello, everyone!

Hello!

Its winter here, my BF away for another 2 months (It's been 3) so I have been reading like nothing else.

Read The Pillars of the Earth and World Without End (Ken Follett) - Loved them.

Read almost every PD James book ever written (awesome).

Re-Read Shantaram and loved it even more the second time.

I've read a few books over the summer.

The Man with the Golden Torc by Simon R. Green.
I recommend that one. Still have to pick up the sequel.

Ark Angel by Anthony Horowitz.
It's like a teen James Bond. A bit lame at points but a good old-fashioned action book.

His Dark Materials Trilogy.
Lame ending. okay, if childish, book.

Reread Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind.
Recommend that one.

The Godslayer Chronicles. (Shadowfall and Hinterlands)
I recommend those. Quite good.

Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer.
It was ok. Written for fangirls more so than guys. Not enough action.

Paradise lost/regained by John Milton.
Only read a few chapters. Novelty of the high language wore off during a lull in the storytelling. Quite fun to narrate though.

Demon Apocolypse by Darren Shan.
Too short. Author uses > ( Irks me when they use parenthesis to telll the reader something outside teh cotext fo the story.)

I could use any recommendations. lol running out of good ideas for readable books.
