well, i just remember checking on the due dates for the next ASoIaF book, then being bummed out when they got pushed back. to be fair to Borders, B&N had the same info at the time. dashed hopes suck. |

I read the prologue and it was quite good. I think Sanderson is probably a better writer than Jordan - he puts words together quite nicely. I only noticed one grammatical error, too, so the editing seems to have improved.
The Masema part ended well... Anyone else read it? BTW, someone has uploaded the audio book of TGS on Mininova. 1.6gb download. This post has been edited by Deathwatch Ogier on Oct 28 2009, 12:50 PM |

About 200 pages in so far. Sanderson is doing it justice so far.
Fucking work, I want to read all day today. |

I bought it yesterday and have it sitting on my nightstand to inspire me to do my re-read faster. (I'm still only on Book 2
) This way, I get to drool over it in the meantime!Anyone else think the cover artwork is terrible? I never much liked Sweet's stuff, but he just gets worse and worse. |

Well, we should discuss yes? I know this place is mostly dead, but now that we have new content!
What does everyone think of the new book, all the new developments, the overall quality of Sanderson's work? I loved it, and I especially loved Verin's reveal. What does everyone think about that? |

I just finished the book last night and really enjoyed it. Sanderson did a great job.
Particularly powerful moments for me were the scene with Rand and his father and the later scene when he traveled to Dragonmount. Verin's reveal was also really well done. Verin definitely has style. |

I just read some summaries and it mostly was enough. I still don't remember some stuff though, like that dude Faile killed. |

So there was a guy who was protecting Faile while she was in the Shaido camp, and there was a kind of vibe there, but when Perrin rescued them, she betrayed him and got him killed, and now there's some guilt.

At the end of book 12, the last few paragraphs deliver to the WoT fan what they have deserved since Dumai's Wells in "The Lord of Chaos".
Book 12 ending: And Rand opened his eyes for the first time in a very long while. He knew-somehow-that he would never again hear Lews Therin's voice in his head. For they were not two men, and never had been. He regarded the world beneath him. The clouds above had finally broken, if only just above him. The gloom dispersed, allowing him to see the sun hanging just above. Rand looked up at it. Then he smiled. Finally, he let out a deep throated laugh, true and pure. It had been far too long. I had waited for this moment since I was in High School. Amazing how a book series can contain part of my past for so long.... |

Wow, nice to see that so many of you are still around and eager to talk about the new book. I can't wait to read it and come back to discuss, though that might be awhile since I'm busy doing this Canadian pre-lawyer thing called articling and am mommy to a sweet 14 month old named Gabrielle. Hopefully, I'll be back soon though.
