you can't, not really. It actually ends up just making an exact clone of the one sim you choose to be pregnant, just the opposite gender. The other parent is actually unrelated to the child and the child doesnt get any of their genetics or features.
There IS a pregnancy for all genders hack that I use instead, though, that actually allows both parents to contribute their genetics to the kid like the regular "try for baby" option does for heterosexual couples. I'll look for it in a little while when I have a bit more free time. And if I can't find the site, I'll just send the hack to you. ^__^
