If you used something like diamond in your saber would it make a white beam or what? White you could probably do, and as said Corran has silver. We know from NJO (hush, you ) that special crystals can give the user other abilities (Anakin's Vongsense from his crystal), and there's been tales of users enacting the Force on their crystals. Anyone strong enough in the Sith arts can put enough twisted Force energy into their crystal, and manipulate it to produce a black blade, although I'm pretty sure it may require a constant if not small effort on the user to sustain it, truly becoming one with his saber. well its simple realy its becuse purple is the sine of a jedi wepons master green is Jedi master and blue is Jedi Knight if you ask me GL give's a prity good explanation for it in KOTOR II if you look for it
