Go ahead. I know just how accurate those things are at any range. Unless you're like my friend with the sniper rifle. Bastard once covered my mask in paint. That sucks to clean properly.

Which reminds me, I need to go out and buy a new paintball gun.

A friend of mine has an F1, pushing 15 yrs old now I think (the gun, that is). Bought it from a friend, and it came with a silencer and a dot sight. He was accurate before he put the silencer on, but the sight was meant for the silencer to be attached. If he sees you, he will get a headshot.

I still have a bruise from playing paintball on Leap Day last year. It was like 10AM in Scotland, so most of the paintballs were frozen and one got me right in the thigh from about 3 feet away. I shot automatically without thinking and got a headshot when the guy entered the room (DAMMIT! It didn't count, which was gay!) and he shot as a reaction and got me right in the thigh, a good 4 inches from the goods. I also got "killed" once for being shot in the wrist. Imagine that in an actual war, "Nope, you've got to get off the battlefield, he got you with a deadly wrister!" Anyway, the whole experience kicked ass. We played with a bunch of Croatians and Greeks who were so into it that it was like a total military campaign. Oh man, and we came first overall from 20 groups or something. I loved it, but for fear of the gonads, I doubt I'll ever do it again...that...and it was fucking expensive!

I caught a shot inside the pinky finger of my cut-off gloves once. There are three palces you don't want to get hit: the nuts, your forhead, and your knuckles.

And whatever you do, avoid leaning back and exposing the underside of your chin. A shot can get in under the mask and nail you in the mouth. I had a mark for weeks thanks to that one. Drew blood and everything. I love paintball.

Oh and I agree on that knuckle shot thing. Hurts like hell. And it's always in my shooting hand. But you forgot getting shot in the ear. Not only does it hurt like hell, the paint gets in there and it just sucks to no end.

fingers hurt like hell, bu tthe worst for me was some dip had his pressure turned way down to like 50 fps and peppered me, not one broke but I had brusies on my brusies, settled the score later with 2 paint-grenades...

It's the worst when they won't break. Although if your idiot friend forgets his safety is off and shoots you from 5 feet away directly in the gut, it doesn't matter. The paint still hasn't come out of that shirt. I would have kicked his ass then and there if I could have breathed properly.

I'm sure the sight of being covered in two paint grenades is hilarious though.

Foot shot. Lemme set it up.

I had my usual group of ROTC guys down at the local field, mixed in with the usual walk-ins and random people. All was well. Then one of those guys showed up. You know, the ones that have very expensive gear, and don't give a shit about anyone else, be it friendly or not? By the time he left, he was one game shy of getting his ass kick/banned. He shot someone out? Empty a hopper into their direction. A teammate is out? Empty a hopper in their direction. And he has God mode on, so he can't get shot out, and if he does, he's lagged so he can get off another 30 shots or so.

Giving orders before a speedball game started, we were all crammed behind the starting wall, and "God" was the furthest back. First thing he says "You guys rush, I'll cover you from back here." Pfft, f*ck that. Since he doesn't really care about anything, he'll fire shots straight into the ground. Well, this time my foot happened to be in the way. That happens when you're shoulder-to-shoulder with 10 people. I know he was shooting hot, too. If it weren't for the combat boots I was wearing, I wouldn't have been walking away from there.

So as soon as the whistle blows, we try to rush out of there, but he pushes in because he's afraid of getting hit. We had almost 10 guys crammed behind a single curved bunker because of this douche.

The entire time he was playing, he had a cronie by his side, and he was screaming "DIE MOTHERF*CKERS!" whenever he unloaded into someone. Oh, and you can't shoot back at him, because if you hit him twice, he gets pissed off.

What a dick.

Thats a cool gun dude. But I would be plenty happy with just a 98 custom w/ sniper barrel.

I don't know about everyone else, but when I get shot, I usually don't feel much of anything. The only indicator I got shot is reaching down and then finding paint on my fingers.

As long as the guns are functioning properly and it isn't too cold, the balls will break and that eliminates most of the pain. Other than that, just make sure you're covered up and obey the rules. The adrenaline covers most of the potential pain anyway.

This coming from the guy who consistently goes out in a t-shirt. And yes, I have taken hits on my exposed forearm and no they don't hurt that badly.

Yeah, unless you're hit in one of the Big Three it's not bad. I play in full BDUs, and now that I've got a BDU cap I don't get paint in my hair, either.

Second place gun. Their main site is down right now, but this thing fires smaller paintballs in brass casings. It's the gun the military and police use for training. Full auto, just like the real gun, exact size (maybe weight), tank in the stock, clip-fed only.
