For what year? We're several months into 2005 already so are you talking about a year running from like April to April or something?

Well personally I think it will be Halo 2 despite it's not living up to all the hype. It was the first game to have a massive showing on XBox live and it still does have large numbers of people playing it and it makes most of us want to play the next one.

the problem is that live sales are less then half of xbox sales - live isn't that much weight

I would pick Chaos Theory, its gotten huge reviews so far and based on the demo is immensely fun. I'm buying it once I get a paycheck. Even if you didn't like the first two its worth checking out. This one gives you more flexibility in how you play, whether you sneak around or kill all the baddies. Also it has nice new things, like a knife, one hit KO's, and new weapons and abilities.

But i wasn't hot on splinter cell - and i hated recon - i just don't think clancy gets enough popularity for his ultrarealism

This one gives you more options on how to do things. There are more pathways to your objective and you can focus more on combat if you want to.

I actually like the stealth method, it's worked for me in a lot of games. Besides obviously Splinter Cell, I depend on stealth in Rainbow Six, and also Antaeus Rising (aka Hostile Waters. The cloak + no radar sig on one of the vehicles kicks ass), plus whatever other games I can apply it to.

I'll be honest, I think it is too hard to say when you split up a year into fiscal year sales. I'm also having trouble restricting it just to Xbox games. I want to mention GT4 or God of War, but know I can't.

it works cause thats what you need to do... it gets a vit tedious creeping around in shadows - and loosing everytime run too fast etc

Ok I have just found out that GTA San Andreas is going to be coming out on xbox in either June or July and it may have an effect on the game of the year competition although I doubt it will win it may atleast steal votes from another game.

I'm going to be boring and vote KOTOR 2, simply because it's the last XBox game I bought. Doom 3 should also be up there, but I've only played the PC Version, so I can't really give a proper opinion on it.
