So in the ouchies forum we have been having a debate about whether or not paintball is a sport or a game so I thought why not post your answer here and we will see how people feel.

Some poeple (i.e. citizens of somewhere) have to play it in order to create a sport. And I'm pretty sure there is voting involved whenever the IOC decides what the next Olympic sport(s) will be, so I wouldn't be so sure about that. Arbitrary decision making is rare anymore since most monarchies and dictatorships have gone out the window in favor of democratic governments. Even corporations answer to a board and shareholders both of which hold votes. -------------------- When I come up with a decent signature, it will be here.

Non Athletic Sport Created Around Rednecks  Anywho, I hate Nascar but have respect for the drivers. I'd hate to drive in a circle for 200+ laps! Another thing that may not be popular, but worth discussing -- if we have so much concern about gas prices, why not ban all motorsports? Hmmm, there's a thought... To make this post somewhat relevant to paintball... I liked playing paintball, but I had to give it up -- I was spending too much money. |

personally I dont think Paintball is a sport, b/c there are no across the board rules. Every where you go will have there own house rules. Also there are no nation wide leagues of it....mainly due to the lack of rules. And no, whether it is or not, Nascar is not a sport....it is a car race.
I think a standardized set of rules is rrequired for classification as sports. -------------------- Most of the truths one clings to depend greatly on ones perspective!!!

Actually, there is a nation wide league. The rules are across the board for speedball. like any sport, you can modify it for different play. -------------------- Evil Genius

I want to get into Paintball and someone recommended a Freeman 98 is that a good gun?

Since you probably meant Tippman 98, yes it's a great gun, but it's geared towards woodsball a bit more (which I play best). You can customize the crap out of it, I've seen M4s, M16s, AK47s, and all sorts of other mods for that gun.
