Okay, as some of you have noticed, each person has a title underneath their name.

Right now that title is linked to how many posts they have.

Noob is less then 50
Then Padawan, Jedi Knight, Jedi Master, Council Member, High Council Member... etc

There is a function that I can turn on that will allow you to change your title. It should be turned off now and I returned those who have already changed their title back to the system (sorry grunthos).

Question I pose to you:

1) Do I turn the title changer back on?

I'm kinda wary of doing this because then people can give themselves any title they want without earning it.

2) I think it's more fun if people earn their titles, say through writing competitions, trivia, really awesome posts. It would kinda be like the +1 modding system of RVB.

Just and idea that I had.. but I'll leave it up to you guys to figure out what you want to do.

Actually, you gave me an idea which lead me to write something that turned into something else...

I have the first half of chapter one of a fic called "Romancing the Jade" (I know, rip off of the Romancing the Stone movie title but nothing like the movie - right now)

You can guess what kinda fic it is...

AND IT"S ALL YOUR FAULT!!

I'll post chapter one when I'm done... but I got to finish this Path of Your Own Choosing update or else Neo really will kill me....

I don't mind the titles. I just feel bad because I don't really post too much here. My first forum membership was in RvB, and I kinda got used to it's setup. This all feels kind of strange to me, and no one seems to enjoy talking in the Gaming section (a big part of my posting).

My only concern is the fact that if I only post quality posts to everyone else's 10 posts that I'll be "beneath" everyone else in status.

...eh, kinda sucks. But once again I don't mind having the system, I just wanted to voice my concerns about the current system. I mentioned this before to you JayCee, remember?

Yes, the basic title system is based on Post Count. It's easy to wrack up posts just by making a bunch of niggly ones. I do appreciate that you're trying to keep to quality posting rather then spam.

The thing is, titles are the only option I have to reward people for winning challenges or making really awesome posts. I can give them special stuff and not the basic "Noob, Padawan, Knight, Master, Council Member" etc.

Just be yourself Fish, that's all I ask, and if you do, you might just be rewarded for it.

But about the titles. i think we should earn them.
but when we reach, say, level 4 or 3 or whatever, i think we should be able to request a sub title...

i definitely think there should be some earnage though.. nothing is free except death and love.
