Title: Stargate Alliance
Description: Based on the TV Series

USSArizona - May 25, 2005 05:43 PM (GMT)
A new game is coming out for PC, X-Box and PS2 based on the television show Stargate SG-1. So far, quite a few of the details are a little bit scetchy, but there seems to be a lot of really neat things going on in it. It is basically going to be a squad based FPS, so that should be pretty cool. Each of the characters will be able to do different things: Daniel can read Runes, O'Neill has a kick butt sniper rifle, Teal'c has some sweet melee attacks and Carter can use the Go'auld wrist device on enemies. I have some seen some of the rendered areas from the game and they look to be very nice. The one of the SGC control room just blows my mind. They also have likeness rights for the game, so they are making the characters in the game look just like those from the show. On top of that, all of the main actors for the show gave voice overs for their characters in the game. So that makes it pretty cool as well.
The game itself seems to take place sometime in Season 7 when Anubis was still in power and they were trying to get rid of him. While there will be a ton of Kul warriors to kill, the story arc is unique to the game and introduces a new villan that has never been seen in the Stargate universe before. They look pretty cool and the graphics for the game really seem to be shaping up. They have a nice new trailer that they used for E3 on their website now, and it shows some very interesting views and voiceovers.
This looks to be a very interesting game and I can't wait for it to hit the shelves. I will either be getting it for PC or for PS2... I haven't decided which one yet.

The trailer is sweet.

Yeah, it is. When I first downloaded it it was too big for my screen so I had to resize it . . . my screen is 12.1 inches (it's a laptop).

I just read a report today.
Perception terminated the contact with Jowood, the Australian company that was doing the design of the game and it looks like it is not going to be coming out for a while though. Maybe not even until the next gen system comes out. The reason stated was that Perception didn't feel that they would create a quality game for the fans and be on time for release.
So, yeah, that sucks.

Yeah, that's been floating around the RvB threads for a couple days now

Damn that royally sucks but hey i'd rather have a good game l8r then a crappy one now...

The good news is that because of their contract JoWood retains all the stuff done so far. So if the find a new dev they like they can hand them the game in its current state and let them finish it off rather than having to start from scratch.

That is very true and it is sort of a light at the end of the tunnel for us fans.

That is some good news cause what screen shots i had seen it looked really good, wonder if it'll be a squad based game like Republic Commando?

there was another article about how Perception Productions is blaming JoWOod for not paying and not doing as they promised, so now it is a big name calling contest

as long as it lives up to stargate - i'm happy

Katana - October 31, 2005 09:48 AM (GMT)
Let's just hope that production gets picked back up again.
