Carly was my second favorite of the season. It was clear at the start of her set that her ear monitor wasn’t working but she hit every big note, bantered with the audience in her lovely accent and she was stunning and very well received by Wash D.C. I wish the controversy with her having a previous recording deal and her obvious need to please Simon had not happened because she deserved to have gone further on the show.

Ok Shelly, I have my review all finished up but (I feel like a complete retard saying this) I'm nervous about sending it because I'm afraid I will leave something out and then regret it, which is why its been like a month since I said I would send it. What is everyone else putting in their review? I'm ending mine with a message to Carly.

But first, a nod to the unheralded trio who brought so much passion to “Idol” on TV, and, as much as they could, to the stage: White, Johns and Carly Smithson.

The manly, yet stylish Johns and intense, yet playful Smithson really should record a duet, where their similarities can feed off each other. Both also possess the polished professionalism that only experience – which both had prior to “Idol” – can bring.

Johns’ rugged voice bulldozed through “Dream On,” his swan song on the show, and even notched that painfully high screech that is Steven Tyler’s hallmark. And his sultry blues swing through Dolly Parton’s “It’s All Wrong, But It’s All Right,” was complemented by Smithson’s fierce run through Heart’s “Crazy on You” and an aching “I Drove All Night” – a mature song choice given the massive tween factor in the crowd.

White, meanwhile, showcased her earnest singer-songwriter leanings by playing the piano barefoot for “Let It Be,” then proved herself equally adept at contemporary music with a bouncy version of Feist’s “1 2 3 4” and Coldplay’s “Yellow,” her voice pure and pleasant.

Carly - She’s my favorite of the girls (and one of my top 3), so I loved all of her songs. I also thought her outfit was very cool (esp. the tall boots). She sounded amazing on Bring Me to Life and Crazy on You and she had such great stage presence. She thanked everyone for supporting the Idols and sounded like she got choked up talking about it (which I thought was very nice).

ok well me, my friend, my brother, and dad got there at around 12 and the security people were like ya theyre coming at 1 but then they still werent here. then at 2 still no buses :[ but then yay they all came at around 2 45. first i met david cook, syesha, ramiele, archie, kristyl, AND THEN CARLY! yay but i got so mad cause RIGHT when carly was near me someone wanted a marly picture so michael stole carly from me :[ but then she came back yay! when she came to me i was like ahhh carly i love you! and then i gave her the reasons why we love carly book. and shes like yay this is so awesome and I LOVE YOU! and then she gave me a hug. and my dad was like hey carly you know shes your biggest fan and i was like nooo why is he saying this. and then he was like shes always talking about you! and im like okay dad she gets it! which makes carly laugh and then give me another hug :] ohhh and then i noticed she was listening to her ipod and i go hey what are you listening to? and she goes oh joost some guns n roses! you wanna listen. and i was like YES! and yay and then a picture and autograph and then of course carly was super amazing during the concert. i mean when is she never amazing? and then we wanted to wait after but the stoopid security people were like noo theyre not gonna sign autographs but ya that was my day i was happppppppy

BTW, Peggy, who used to post at AI.com and who sent Carly the "Simon Loves Me" shirt with me, was supposed to go to this show. But no one in the fandom has heard from her. I don't suppose anyone that went to this show ran into her, did they?

Hey BigBrownEyes-that was me that had Michael steal Carly away for the Marly picture (I'm sorry). I did take the picture but someone stuck their arm in Carly's face and it came out bad. I did get to meet her again in Charlotte NC though and took a picture with her and Michael. Sorry again for having him steal her away (I'm a big Carly/Marly fan too), but I'm glad it worked out okay for you after she came back.
