Well, first of all my name is Melanie and I'll be 29 in a couple of weeks. Probably seems kinda old to be obsessing over an Americal Idol contestant, but if there's one thing we can all agree on it's that Carly is no ordinary AI contestant. And considering I have a Celine Dion tattoo on the back of my neck it shouldn't be too much of a stretch that I am going all ga-ga over Carly! Right? Right! Carly is unique and fascinating and truly talented and so damn cute! It's indescribable how adorable this girl is! But anyway, back to my hopeless introduction. (I'll try not to get distracted by Carly and veer off topic again.) I am a huge fan of music in general. Some of my all-time favorites include: Celine, Tori Amos, Alanis Morissette, Tegan & Sara, Regina Spektor, Björk, and much more. I also love going to the movies, buying movies, talking about movies; pretty much any performing art. Some of my favorites include: The Silence of the Lambs, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Intolerable Cruelty, Chicago, Titanic, The Sound of Music...and so on. Catherine Zeta-Jones is my favorite actress & the hottest woman alive. Evangeline Lilly comes in a close 2nd for both titles. Its a 3-way tie for my favorite actor between Tom Hanks, John Cusack & Christian Bale. On a more personal note - I live with the owner & administrator of carlysangels.net because she is the love of my life and because she has such GREAT taste in music & women! Ha! Thanks for making this terrific website, Cheryl. I know the forum will grow to be THE place for Carly fans to go!

My name is Cheryl and I am 26 (almost 27 - I'm getting old!) years old. It's been a long while since I've worked on a website. I started a Celine Dion site back when I was in high school and helped Melanie with her Catherine Zeta-Jones site a few years ago. But, I decided to take on the massive amount of work that it keeping up a website when I fell in love with Carly. Seriously, that girl has something special. My "real" job is Production Manager/Graphic Designer at a billboard company. I love music. Celine and Tori *and now CARLY* are my favorites. I also love so many others (Regina Spektor, Northern State, Tegan & Sara & Patricia Kaas to name a few). I love going on trips with my one and only and being outside, especially working in my garden. (By the way, there is a mischievous leprechaun named O'Flannagan living in my garden who's rooting for Carly too because she does his leprechaun dance sometimes when she's excited). When did you first notice/discover Carly? I noticed her at her first audition and knew she'd be one to watch. She impressed me in Hollywood Week, I rooted for her in the Top 24 and she won my heart with Come Together.
What attracted you to Carly?Her rich voice, her vulnerability, her stories and her Irishness!

What song would you most like to hear Carly sing? A lot of things, but I'm thinking "Ten Days" by Celine Dion would be awesome. Also I really want to hear her version of "Black Is The Colour"

What do you think gives Carly her "star quality"? The way she sings - she has such a presence & the girl's got soul. That voice.

How do you think Carly gets along with the other Idols? I'm sure she's closer to some, but I picture them as one big happy family
Do you find yourself saying words with an Irish accent? What words? Yep. "disgusting" "come together" "Dublin" Basically anything with a vowel. Love the way she says those vowels!
How do you feel on performance night? Results night? So nervous - my heart pounds, I worry that the judges will say something ignorant, but oh so happy to see what she'll sing
What is your favorite Carly outfit? Hm. I think her dress from Without You.
Why do you love Carly's voice? It is deep, rich and full of such emotion (also textures and colours - thanks Paula!)
