We all sometimes have this amazing story that could make an amazing game, but naturally that story never comes to be. It is this desire to make that story a reality which often drives a person to become a programmer, since a game seems to be the best way many of our stories could play out.
What are the stories you have come up with? What amazing tales of love, betryal and death do you sometimes invent? What are your stories from games that never came to pass?
Here are some of mine:
Zelda Stories-
| QUOTE | Ruins Of Time (Game project was abandoned due to a switch to Visual Studio which rendered the graphics library used unusable)
Hyrule, a paradise of deserts, forests, wonderful cities and amazing people. A place of ultimate peace and rest, away from the violence and evils of the rest of the world. That was what Hyrule was like, before he came.
Long ago a great evil was sealed away in the Temple Of Light, a sacred realm in the Temple Of Time. This great evil was Gandon, the Devil Of The Void. He once ruled the world with unquestionned power, back when the world was new. He grew so powerful he became a god, and he bound the Sacred Triforce into his sword.
For centuries he ruled, until a hero rose up to challenge him. Using Gandon's own sword, he sealed Gandon in the Temple Of Light, and the Sages Of The Past built a great temple around the gateway to the realm, the Temple Of Time, and sealed Gandon inside.
There Gandon remained, until he escaped. A evil man, Gannondorf, Opened the Door Of Time that sealed the Temple Of Light away, and Gandon escaped, killing Gannondorf as he did so. With all his anger and might, Gandon destroyed the Temple Of Time And The Door of Time, before fleeing off to conquer the land.
With out time as a barrier, the monsters of the past began to return to Hyrule, and, under Gandon's command, they began to slay and lay waste to the once beautiful land of Hyrule. People now are either slaves or hidding away from the creatures, either way they are doomed.
---------
One day a young Slave boy escaped from his emprisonment in a black citadel, a castle built and ruled by monsters, and began to wage a war against the creatures domminating the land. His name, Link. Little does Link know it but one day he will fight Gandon and the fate of Hyrule, nay, the World, will rest on his shoulders. |
| QUOTE | Orbs of The Pirate (Idea was thought up when I was 8 and so unable to make the game)
Link was a pirate, leader of the pirates actually, however when he was knocked over-board during a storm (which he later found out was created using black magic wielded by his best friend, Gannondorf) and washed ashore on an island.
When he came too, he explored the island. There he found a village, where he learned Gannondorf had launched a raid recently (raids being something Link, the Good Pirate, disagreed with) and stolen the orb of nature, one of the six magical orbs which when brought together would summon the Triforce.
Link went and found the pirates base where they had landed, and confronted Gannondorf. He was defeated, and only survived because the Goddess of the Sages saved him, and tasked Link with finding the remaining five orbs.
However Link failed to collect 2 of them, as Gannondorf beat him to it. Holding 3 of the orbs, Gannondorf holding the other 3, link challenged Gannondorf. Gannondorf beat Link (again), and took the orbs from Link, before summoning the Triforce.
Link however managed to stand up, and grab the Triforce at the same time as Gannondorf. This caused the Triforce to split into 3 parts, 2 of which entering Link (courage and wisdom), and one entering Gannondorf (power). Link used his 2 pieces to become Holy Crusader Link, and Gannondorf changed into Ganon.
They fought, and Holy Crusader Link was victorious. The Triforce left both of them, and ascended to the heavens. However, Gannondorf managed to get up, and using the last of his might he threw his sword, which pierced Link's heart, killing him. As the game ends, link is pulled up towards the heavens by a white light. |
Other stories-
| QUOTE | Crisis Point Zero (Abandonded because of a bug in development which I was unable to overcome, the thing crashed whenever I tried to make bullets fire )
The year is 35 AED, and man-kind has advanced greatly in technology. Space travel is possible beyond all belief, and Mars was colonized long ago. In the year 2349 ACE, World War Three broke out, which ended in a nuclear fallout and the destruction of Earth, and marked the end of what was called the “Common Area”, AD or ACE, and the beginning of “After Earth‘s Destruction“, or AED. Earth is now a barren wasteland, it has become what Mars once was, a dead planet, and Mars had become the new Earth.
Unfortunately, everything has it’s price, even the ground you walk on. Earth itself is no exception, and in 12 AED, Earth’s charred remains were purchased by the largest company in the history of Humanity, Jaythorn Corp, JTC. JTC were not interested in ‘reviving’ earth as they claimed, but instead they planned to use Earth as a research centre outside of Legal, Moral and Religious obligations.
For years they invented wonderful things. They were a few ‘accidents’, but that was the risk and nothing more than an ‘occupational hazard’. A full investigation was always carried out, and mistakes were always learnt from.
You and your squad have been sent to investigate one of them mistakes, all contact with Institute 9E0A has been lost. Institute 9E0A focuses on weaponry and bio-warfare so any number of things could have gone wrong. Your mission is simple:
1) Gain access to the Institute 2) Discover what caused the loss of communication 3) If possible Re-establish communication 4) Locate and secure the safety of Lead Scientist Antonio Hatch 5) Eliminate any hostiles
But, all is not as it seems. The institute has been carrying research it hasn’t been permitted to do, made discoveries it shouldn’t have made, and this simple mission will become much more, much, much more. Welcome to hell soldier, how do you want to die?

| QUOTE | Balgoria - Demon's Domain (My evil sister deleted the source, and I kinda accidently cleared it from the recycled bin because she didn't tell me )
For as far back as history stretches, the continents of Aland and Seria have been at war. At one time Aland seemed to be winning, at another Seria had the upper hand, then the power returned to Aland again. After bouncing between the two for countless generations, they can a time when it seemed like Seria were going to win, and much of Aland was in Seria's control
In desperation the remaining Armies of Aland gathered on Balgoria Island, an island just off the coast of the Human homeland, and the nearest point to the areas under the control of Seria. There they and their strongest wizards from all of the races of Aland cast a powerful magical spell that had been in development for millennia’s, and was only to be used in utmost desperation.
The spell opened a gate to Hell, and Demons poured out. Foolishly, the Alandians believed they had control over the demons, and used them the wage war. This was successful, for a time, and they managed to push the Serian's off Aland. But then disaster struck.
The Demons rebelled, or perhaps they were never loyal to begin with and that was always their intent, and almost all life on Aland was wiped out, the survivers were forced into caves and hidding. The Serbian's rejoiced, they had won the war, or so they thought. But the Demons had other plans. Serbia was their next target.
They never stood a chance, and soon almost all life everywhere was gone, people were either in hiding or dead. Some battles between the Demons and the small, hopeless armies of the people of Aland and Serian, who had finally united against the threat, were won, however the enemies numbers were endless, as more and more poured out of the gate at Balgoria Island, the numbers of the living, however, were not...
Luckily a group of Wizards from Aland who had opened the gate in the first place had survived, and the three went to Balgoria Island to attempt to close the gate, with them four warriors that they had either paid to defend them or had agreed to do so out of the goodness of their hearts.
Almost as soon as they landed the 7 were attacked by Demons. Despite their best efforts, the Warriors lost the fight, they were just too outnumbered. The three wizards were captured, and their souls robbed and bound into gems. All but one Warrior was killed. Koau Kincha had survived.
When Koau regained consciousness, he found the boat destroyed, and himself surrounded by three dead mortal bodies. Unable to flee, the Warrior decided he had to do what was necessary. Armed with only his sword, he set off hoping to free the Wizards souls and close the gate. |

This particular story probably won't ever happen, but I may actually turn it into a game | QUOTE | Balgoria - The Escape Of The Sata-Vil
Sata-vil (Sata-Vils) - Immortal Demi-Demons - Once Humanoid, but soul was willingly warped by another Sata-Vil - Blend into humanity by appearance and sound, but their bodily functions do work, though they are not needed. - Need to drain a humanoid of life-force to keep powers (not necessarily drain them dead). - Body regenerates - Immensely strong - Demonic Sorcery
Vampyre (Vampyr) - Immortal Undead - Once Humanoid, until they took in the blood of a Vampyre and have had their living blood nearly drained completely - Sound and Look Human, but are by every definition Clinically Dead - Must feed on living blood to survive, or will age very quickly and die. - Is burned and will die quickly in direct, strong Sunlight - Immensely Strong - Vampiric Blood Magic
The Sata-vil are demi-demons. They were once humanoid, until they willingly allowed another Sata-vil to warp and corrupt their soul. As a result, they are immortal, and immensely powerful. They control terrible demonic sorcery, and contain immense physical and mental strength and stamina. Their body can regenerate and damage or injury, even limps can eventually grow back. However, such great strength comes at a great cost. And whilst they try to blend into humanity, if they are found out they will ultimately be hunted down and destroyed. Also, in order to keep their supernatural powers, they must drain the life-force of the living. If they fail to do so, they will have the strength of a mortal and be unable to use their demon magic. They will still survive, and they will not age or die, though they will feel immense ‘hunger’ until they feed on life-force
The Sata-vil are often confused with the Vampyr, the undead blood drinking parasites, however the two are very different. The Vampyr are clinically dead by every definition, and must feed on blood, not life-force to survive. Also if a Vampyr does not feed, they will age very fast and die, unlike the Sata-vil who simply loose their powers until they feed again. Sunlight will burn and destroy a vampyre, but not the Sata-vil.
You are a Sata-vil, one of the immortal devils, who was captured and imprisoned by a temple group of Demon Hunters, who plan to use you to discover easier methods of quickly your kind quickly. For 10 years you are tortured and put against horrible tests as they test out new methods and analyse your anatomy. You are given life-force from heathens and convicts, however only enough to last until the test is finished, and only when they are doing such tests.
However, when a new test is introduced, you manage to break out of the containing chamber, and by taking the life-force of the priests and guards observing, you manage to regain your strength completely and begin your escape. You must travel through the giant temple that served as a prison for you and several other Sata-Vil, as well as quite a few Vampyr, though the priests and other such holy men may have other things to say about that. |
