Title: Worst team in the AFL

elchrisso - March 25, 2008 05:02 AM (GMT)
To me the worsst team in the AFl in colour and team wise is..................(drum roll)
[MELBOURNE]

Geng Bang - March 25, 2008 05:23 AM (GMT)
Agree. They suck :-

jesse duval - March 25, 2008 05:24 AM (GMT)
I concur, they suk so bad :-

elchrisso - March 25, 2008 05:25 AM (GMT)
there is no other worse team then melbourne :-
now days though

Flash_Campbell - March 25, 2008 06:39 AM (GMT)
havent won a premiership for 45 years

CGJH - March 25, 2008 06:55 AM (GMT)
melbourne might be slow starters - nothing is determined on round 1

bullman - March 26, 2008 03:38 AM (GMT)
melbourne are rebuilding after daniher
so they shuld be crap 4 a while

wat bout carlton?
if judd doesnt fire who can win them a game?

Judd is one player, we are not reliant on him.
He has played one game.
We have the youngest team in the competition and it shows.

Melbourne will win the spoon. they got smashed by hawks who were missing Crawford, Hodge, Brown, and Lewis. Hodge and Brown would be in their top 10 players, Hodge their best. Crawf and Lewis are in the best 22 easily.

Fev is a proven matchwinner, done it many times. If Judd and Fev fire in the same match, the Blues will post massive scores. Their defense is the main worry, Thornton is their best and he functions as a third tall. He wouldn't be taking the best forward every week at most other clubs, just not big enough. My Hawks seem to have an obsession with him though <_<

bluebaggers - March 26, 2008 07:22 AM (GMT)
You are right Geng Bang, our defence is our main worry. However when Brad Fisher is out we lack scoring possibilites. He provides great structure and puts in 3 goals a game.

However we are grooming young guns such as Jamison who did well against Richo until the whole team was being beaten, and Jarred Waite has been moved to what seems a permanent role at CHB.
Just takes time to get experience, muscle, etc into these guys. (With exception of Waite, who has the right frame and everything for an AFL player. just needs to step up. shows massive potential and boasts one of the biggest vertical leaps in the comp.) Thornton has been a great defender for us over the past 6-7 years though. Its not suprising a team like Hawthorn wants him.

i neva sed that they wouldnt

of course they are going 2
coz they dont have a good young forward
or defender

Geng Bang - March 26, 2008 07:32 AM (GMT)
Yeah Waite is very impressive. Jamison did all he could do, you can't expect a relatively new player to outmuscle Richo (which was what Richo did to him on numerous occasions). Fisher is a very good mark for his height.

And I do like Thornton, the thing is that we have quite a few young players who can fill his role, eg. Murphy, Dawson, Campbell Brown to an extent, even Birchall if he puts some muscle on. What we need is a big strong defender, who can take the J. Browns and Roccas of the comp. Croad isn't a Key position backman, he was groomed into one. 191 cm is giving away quite a bit of height to the monster forwards he has to take every week. Hopefully we address this soon.

mikester92 - March 27, 2008 02:28 AM (GMT)

We are always undogs and we love that , cause we can bag the people who didnt pick us B)

CGJH - March 29, 2008 02:18 AM (GMT)
why is everyone picking the roos? the same thing happened last year. they lost the first three games and everyone started picking them for the spoon. what happened? THEY CAME THIRD!!!

i reckon bottom four contenders include: sydney, adelaide, richmond, collingwood, brisbane, freo, MELBOURNE, carlton.

Flash_Campbell - March 29, 2008 03:34 AM (GMT)
bottom four... but Richmond/Carlton/Melbourne can surprise teams

Richmond
Carlton
Freo
Melbourne

Its pretty easy for melbourne to surprise people - by winning a game for starters. I reckon richmond will have a little climb this year, carlton maybe.

Flash_Campbell - March 29, 2008 05:23 AM (GMT)
a little climb not premierships favourites

Flash_Campbell - March 29, 2008 06:52 AM (GMT)
after two shacklings hawks 101 and dogs 95 ... and playing geelong next week .. there wooder spooners and far the worst team

Extra bit added by cgjh:
Melbourne are getting better every game by a goal. So that means geelong beat them by 89, by round 12 they will be losing by 29... They might even start winning by the end of the year :o

CGJH - March 29, 2008 08:02 AM (GMT)
dees should go back to the vfl lol

This is what everyone did last season. North lost their first three games and then what happened? THEY MADE THE SEMIS! roos are still a chance (topic unpinned)

Bullman - March 30, 2008 02:00 AM (GMT)
most teams are still able to get into the 8

except melb n carlton

BlueBaggers - March 30, 2008 04:03 AM (GMT)
richmond melb and carlton can't get into the top 8.

lol melbourne will lose by like 200 points against geelong... hahahahh.

probably

if geelong dont get lazy

wat is melbs percentage?

CGJH - March 31, 2008 01:35 AM (GMT)
34 LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Geelong will make Richmonds loss of 157pts look minute :P even if geelong did get lazy, which they dont, they would still win by at least 50.

Every team could still get into the eight full stop.

Even melbourne! (if every other team have half their list chock-a-block full of injuries)

Its only frikin round two nothing is certain.

BlueBaggers - March 31, 2008 02:23 AM (GMT)
its pretty certain that richmond melb and carlton won't make the finals.
and certain that saints hawks and cats will make the finals.

Its funny, someone pointed out melbourne lost by 95 points yet gained 6%. hilarious

ElChriSSo - April 3, 2008 05:34 AM (GMT)
i rekon 20 years minumin till they get a premiership
and 5 yrs min till they get out of the botton 8 :+
