i bloody hope so! they have been undefeated for to long. lol

Flash_Campbell - April 13, 2008 09:48 AM (GMT)
they are like the essendon of 2000 , i think the kangas can topple them

Bluebaggers - April 13, 2008 11:33 AM (GMT)
hawks can definitely beat them.

Geng Bang - April 14, 2008 11:34 AM (GMT)
Yes we can! And when we do, Fei, you can get a hose and stick it in Daniel's belly button and tell him "Geelong are shit." Maybe not....

But seriously, if we play at Skilled/ Launceston we can beat them coz then they won't start going on psycho scoring sprees. At TD they will probably outscore us, MCG I have no idea...

If your catters are to good then why were you lucky to beat Fremantle by 1pt. I dont rate Fremantle as a side and I have not done so in many years. If you think your a good side based on last weekends form then you are kiding yourself. I might be new to this site however I know my football if Fremantle can almost beat you then its a sure thing that Hawthorn can match you as well.

I say why talk about it now. From here to the day you play many things can happen such as reports or injures or other stuff out of our control. If the game was played this weekend Hawthorn would win and i am very sure of that.

Hawthorn are an average team playing really well ATM. Geelong would wipe the floor with them.

Tell me what makes you think that Hawthorn are an average side? I highly disagree there. The likes of Franklin, Crawford, Roughead etc i would not call average. Hawthorn will do alot come the finals series thats for sure.

Kangaroos obsession with Hawthorn continues

We are a good team, but Geelong are looking really good. Yes they had a close win against the Dockers but it was a rareity and it wont happen again. Cats midfield depth will run over hawthorns and their forward line will stretch our defence.

Rooboy561 - April 28, 2008 07:51 AM (GMT)
It will be a draw. LOL

Hawthorn are the only team in geelong's league when both are at their best.

I've seen first hand how good Hawthorn are & I've seen Geelong. The Hawks are just no where near Geelong.

The Hawks are easier to shut down then the cats are & mentally aren't strong enough against really top sides who play one on one footy.

No obsession here mate. Just facts.

The facts are that Geelong have all the players they need to cover Franklin, Roughead & there midfield is just too strong for the Hawks.

Look, I'll give you that its been a great start for them but looks can be deceiving.

Bluebaggers - April 29, 2008 12:25 PM (GMT)
Bartel and Ablett got fairly squelched on friday night by fremantle... they only beat freo by 1 pt.

How can you say they aren't mentally strong enough? are you an experienced psychologist?

And it is a FACT that Geelong have the players needed to cover Franklin and Roughead and Boyle and Williams?

I can't see who on Geelong's list can beat Franklin one on one.
Hawks have the best forward line in the comp, and with crumbing forward Rioli, it has become even better.
In saying that, it is a young forward line and will only become better with time.

I think you need to go look up the definition of fact.

Geng Bang - May 1, 2008 07:29 AM (GMT)
Our best midfield is just as good as Geelong's best midfield. It's just that Geelong has much better midfield depth, so when we are rotating Mitchell, Hodge, etc. they could kill us in those few minutes. If our midfield depth players greatly improve, I can see us beating those cats.

Our forward line can potentially own their defense, and our defense is good when the opposition doesn't have a huge power forward like J. Brown or Bradshaw. Mooney is good, but hardly in the same league as the two I mentioned. If the opposition forward line is a bunch of midgets/ medium sized players, our defense has a field day.

Bluebaggers - May 1, 2008 10:11 AM (GMT)
Yes, Hawks have a superior forward line, can match it in the midfield, and the defense can tend to struggle against some teams... however i don't think Geelong's forward line will stretch them at all if Hawks midfield & forward pressure is good

Geng Bang - May 2, 2008 10:10 AM (GMT)
If Geelong decide to put Ottens forward, I can see us being in a bit of strife. Croad has the body strength, but nowhere near the height. Robby Campbell is a good defender from what I've seen though, we might drop him back as well.

Really, the key to beating the Cats is the ruck. Without Ottens, their ruck duo of Blake/ Mumford or whoever their other ruckman is, is probably bottom 3 in the comp. Sandilands had a field day against them, if Freo had a decent backup ruckman to give Sandilands a rest I have no doubt Freo would have won. Even the previous week, Jolly killed the Cats, and the Swans came close despite the 40 point margin. Our no. 1 ruck, Simon Taylor, has improved greatly over the last year and if he keeps going I am confident he and Rob Campbell can rip the cats a new one.

Fload - May 19, 2008 08:59 AM (GMT)
Seeing how the current history favours us, cos remember last year, 54 pts . Our forward line would be our strongest point. Franklin, Roughead, Williams and Boyle. If one of them aren't playing well there's still many players to fill in their shoes. Almost forgot, but Rioli is having an absolutely great start.

Our midfield is really fast and agile. Mithchell and Bateman can run it around and our handballing is top-notch. Crawford still has a few seasons left and Lewis and Young, can kick goals from outside the fifty, but can really score from inside though.

I THINK IT WILL END UP DRAW

both good teams

and when do they play?

im watching that match!!

will be good

Fload - May 20, 2008 08:22 AM (GMT)
A draw is hard to come by. It takes a really close game to produce a draw.

Bluebaggers - May 20, 2008 08:37 AM (GMT)
You can never tip a draw until theres 1 seconds left.
