Popping & Locking
"Popping is a west coast based Funk Style, although it became common to see a token popper on most bboy crews, popping itself is a funk style. Jigsaw of C.O.T.A Defined popping as an art form consisting of floating, ticking, wave movements, and mimickery, combined, separate, or pieced together, giving a cartoonist or robotic illusion while dancing. Popping itself is an umbrella term, used to describe many dance forms:
Popping, Waves, Glides, Hitting, Tutting, Strutting, Ticking, Robotics and Slides, just to name a few."

Handstand Moves
This forum is dedicated to Handstand moves and rotations including 1990's and 2000's.

The first version of 1990's was done by Trac2 of Starchild La Roc. This was actually a pirouetted handstand.

The second version of this move was done by Crazy Legs of Rock Steady Crew. He over rotated the pirouette resulting in the one handed spin that we now know as 1990's.

The name 1990 was originally used by Ken Swift to describe a move he had which started as a handstand, came into a slow backspin and sped up to a freeze.
However the name is now used simply to describe spinning on one hand in a handstand position.

Also covered here will be the 2000 version of 1990's (spinning with both hands together)

Hand hops and the one handed version of them.
These moves are also sometimes reffered to as solar eclipses and skyscrapers.

Flares
"Flares come from a gymnastic move.

The first kind is the open legged variety (referred to simply as flares) - in gymnastics these are called Thomas Flares.

The second kind are the closed leg variety. These are technically called circles, but in bboy terms they are often referred to as virgin flares.
