I find that if you want to help build your stats up for your career player, take full advantage of double wicket. If you choose some rubbish bowlers/batsmen for them you can take wickets and when it comes to batting, easily hit 100+ per batsmen by the end of he 10 overs.

It does take shockingly ages though to get your career player up, especially when you end up a overall of something like 31 when you first start. But i suppose the easiest tip i could give is to just use your career player for tail enders. A good three or four wickets. Simple. laugh.gif

True but it makes you want to play on, getting your player up, pity about less stats tho.

ok i got a tip, if you a beginner player and want batting (without using the double wicket thing) place your career player to about 4 or 5 in the order so you first get used to the and then get a better score when batting.

Thanks, but I prefer to model my career player on real life, bat at eight, bowl first change.

I always found that bowling leg stump yorkers brought up plenty of wickets when you get it right, especially when there's been a long partnership.

If you have a genuine quick bowler on your team then it isn't so bad to use bodyline tactics. Now obviously you can't set a bodyline field, but I find that having a leg slip and a short leg in place and bowling a bit of chin music is a great recipe for success. It works brilliantly against new batsmen.

Very the pace slightly, because to hit the batsman, they must mis time a short ball.

ok ill try that next time i play

another hint is to put a man at about short fine leg - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Cricket...d_positions.svg - get a spinner and force him to hit there, making a mistake hitting a 6

A major bug/shortcut with the game is that when a fielder is in a position and the ball is hit in his direction, it will go to him more than it would if he wasnt there.

Hopefully this will be fixed in BLIC 07.

to make the batters strugle in your over keep changin pace and movement this will confuse the batsman and picking up the wickets becomes easier. we using this tactic at least have 2 slips and a silly point dry.gif

i find that tryin get a career players' bowling stats up takes ages. i think that they should make 1 wicket be worth more than 1 point - like how a catch is worth 3 points. also, they're really slow if they are a fast bowler so i just edit an existing player tongue.gif

tips wise, if you put in a deep 3rd man and bowl wide of the offside they will miss time it eventually, but they mite hit a few 6s. varying pace and seam movement helps smile.gif

also, if you put field restirctions off you can have a pretty good bodyline field setting tongue.gif

From what we have heard from Rubbergenius, I infer that there will be NO career player mode this time around.

But the question is, how to implement it when many wish to create players to update the roster.

PS: Continue this career player discussion in the Brian Lara Cricket 2007 sub forum either in one of the existing or in a new thread.
