Okey dokey… it’s just been brought to my attention that there may be a little confusion about the whole religious aspect of the board. Never fear! I’m here to explain!

Personally, I’m not Christian, Catholic, Protestant, Muslim, Pasterfarian or anything like that. As you all may have guessed, though, the board has strong elements from the His Dark Materials series – daemons, Dust and whatnot – so I deliberately added a church in Berryn Falls for that purpose.

So? You can have any of your characters as part of whatever religion or practicing belief you want. Well, just as long as you don’t start inciting hatred or anything like that. Religion, I believe, is very much like anything else that can offend other players. You may have a character that is horribly sexist, for example. If he or she gives her views in posts, then that adds to our story arc. However, if you carry on with intolerance and the rest of it in our Out Of Character section, that’s unacceptable. Religion is the same. You could have an extremist and, say, have him or her hate Wiccans, but if you move it outside of the roleplay, it’s unacceptable behaviour.

In short? Your character can have any religion they want, they can be any sexual orientation or whatever you fancy… just don’t deliberately try to offend others, okay? Common sense and the rest of it.

I really don’t mean to sound condescending, I just thought I better outline this now in case anyone comes on the board and reads the wrong message. Yarr? Questions, just ask, you know the drill
