Physical Description: J.C. would be described as just an all around clean cut guy. He is a bit OCD when it comes to hygiene, I will explain more later, and as such everything about him is clean and crisp. His hair is a natural blond though in the fall and winter when then sun is not blazing over it does appear more of a dirty blond color. His eyes are a dark hazel brown and always seem to sparkle with his constant good mood. He is normally clean shaven but occasionally has found that he doesn’t always have time to shave so can sometimes with a bit of light brown stubble that grows along his chin. He is constantly smiling and part of his fit for cleanliness shows in the straight white teeth that he is constantly flashing around.

He stands at a rather average 5’10 and is nothing too spectacular in the body department. Jay is thin and keeps himself from getting too over or under weight. He dresses in a style that one may call preppy but that he finds neat and casual all at once. This means collared shirts, of a polo style, and nice jeans. He doesn’t come off as stuck up at all, instead he is one of those strollers. The type of people that every move just seems inviting. Jay is just one of those people that exude friendliness from every pore in their body.

Where He’s From: Modesto, California

Background: Not too much to put here. Jeremy was born and raised in Modesto California by his mother and his father. They knew from an early age that Jeremy was different. Especially since as an infant he would run unexplained fevers or always have chills without ever being six. Nothing bad never really came of it until he turned eight and one of his teachers frightened him and he ended up giving her second degree burns and melting his pet toad.

In middle school Jeremy hit it off very well socially. He was friends with everyone it seemed and never had anymore incidents. He knew what his power was early on and how to at least keep it at bay if not how to use it yet. J.C. started playing soccer when he was in high school and also attempted to use his abilities a little more. Of course there were some accidents but most were easily covered or explained away, except for the sunburn in the woods, in winter, in a tent, in a sleeping bag…but yeah a story for another time.

After graduation he was starting at College in California when he heard of a place in the rocky mountain area. Atlantis Academy. Apparently an old teacher from what the man told Jeremy. J.C. looked into but it was closed. Further digging though and he found it in Atlantis. So he submitted an application and prepared to hopefully leave to attend this prestigious academy.

Personality: J.C. is probably one of the most open and accepting people you will ever meet. What it comes down to is if you can deal with his OCD erratic behavior. Some people call him a Germaphobe but really he is just an extreme neat freak. He has these little quirks he has to follow. Such as brushing his teeth for three minutes three times a day, 6am, 1pm and again at 9 right before he goes to bed. He showers twice daily at specific times, and other little rituals that if broken cause him to flip out.

When he is manic from a change in his routine he can be snappy and angry but really he is a nice guy. When things are going good he is always smiling and will go up to anybody and talk to them. He is not an extremely talkative person but he doesn’t mind holding a short conversation with anyone and is extremely easy to talk to. Part of this is because he is so accepting and normally keeps his opinions to himself and rarely ever judges anyone.

Power: J.C. is odd with his power to say the least. Everyone knows cold is just the absence of heat and all that jazz right? Well if you didn’t you do now. Anyhow, Jeremy’s ability lies in the fact that he can absorb and release heat from his own body to cool or heat the air around him. It’s a pretty nifty ability but can be relatively dangerous. The pluses though are that he can keep himself, and someone near him warm for a pretty long length of time when it is cold, or the exact opposite when it is hot but not much else at the moment.

Weakness: Jay’s weaknesses are that he can easily lose control, can’t heat or cool large areas, and has a problem using his ability effectively outdoors. To explain more If Jeremy doesn’t maintain concentration when trying to heat the air he may accidentally release too much heat and his core body temperature could get extremely low as well as the other way around. He might accidentally absorb too much heat. So his ability takes a lot of concentration.

He also hasn’t mastered to do anything really besides heat the air around himself and one other person who has to be almost touching him for him to do it. As for outside it’s almost impossible since he hasn’t really gotten control on maintaining the heat and something about the large open space disperses his ability. He can use it a little but it is quite weak out doors.

Tell us his thoughts on coming to Atlantis Academy for the first time: Wow…this place is awesome! All the people with all these powers! I saw a kid set something on fire today! It was hella cool!

Oh…erm yeah…I am excited to be here and can not wait to start my lessons and be a great student. (cue cheesy smile)

What are his goals/ambitions, if any? Hm…I don’t know. Meet some new people. Throw a party here and there, cause some chaos, blow stuff up.

No, just joking, I just want to get better control of my ability. Find some way to put it to good use and have a good time with some new people while I am at it.

~sigh…do I really have to do this again…we all know it is going to be about 600 words. Oh well here it goes.~

“Jeremy How about you come up front and show the class what you brought today for show and tell please.”

“Okay!” The little blond boy jumped up and ran to the front of the room with a small tank in his hands and a big smile on his boyish face. He was only eight and it was his turn to show off his pet to the class so of course he was excited. Here was a boy getting to show off his pet toad to a class full of squeamish children.

Carrying the tank up front he set it on the floor and presented the contents to the class. “This is Froggy the Toad. He is my best friend! I can’t touch him though because he is nasty so you will all have to come look at him.”

“Now now Jeremy. Toads are not nasty. How would you like me to pick him up?” The teacher offered kindly since she knew the boy had a few problems with cleanliness. It wasn’t problems as in he was unclean. Jeremy was far from dirty. He was too clean in fact. Jeremy scrunched his little nose and shrugged and the teacher smiled as she pulled the toad from the tank. “See nothing is wrong. You want to hold him?” She asked holding out the toad till it was almost touching Jeremy.

Jeremy shook his head trying to back away but the teacher kept holding the toad closer. Jeremy looked ready to cry and he was starting to sweat. The teacher began to notice her hand was getting hotter and the toad began making funny noises trying to get away. Suddenly the lady screamed and dropped the toad. He fell to Jeremy’s feet and began to twitch blisters popping all over the oily skin. The lady’s hand was blistered and red a little as well and moments later J.C. collapsed. The small boy collapsed to the floor shivering while the panicked students began to mill about and the teacher raced to call 911.

~I could go on but I will stop her because if I don’t I never will and this is just over 300 words =P I don’t like it though! It is short and choppy…and…bleh…~
