Does my character have to be gay?
Definitely not. The requirement is only that he be male. Making him straight will make it so you can't really RP romance with him (since all of the characters on AA are male), but that's perfectly okay.

I'm not 18, can I play here?
Sure! We have changed things around so that the main areas of the site only go up to PG-13-ish. We do require that you are at least 16 though.

How do I access the password-protected forums? How come I'm not allowed?
If you are 18 from the US or 16 from anywhere else, you can have the passwords to the Darker Side by PMing Chriss or Tara. If we find out anyone has lied about their age or location we will have to change the passwords and put you on a suspension. Since we are adults this is necessary so are following the law and Invisionfree's Terms of Service.

Why do I have to create a member profile?
The profiles don't have to be big and flashy, but they are important so that everyone else can know what to call you, who you play, and how to contact you.

Why can't we do torture?
This is a question I get a lot and I really have no reason other than that torture makes me physically ill and even though I could just choose not to read those boards, I don't really want it a part of any of the plots of AA. It's just a personal choice and I hope those of you who like RPing it understand.

How do I use the Darker Side?
Only those posts above PG-13 need to be RP'd there so that means you can be RPing on a regular board, stop when it gets graphic and RP the rest of the scene in the Darker Side, and then return to the same board as before. You're more than welcome to link one topic to the next for those who have access to use.

You can also RP out a whole board on the Darker Side if you know that it's going to be over PG-13, just know that if anyone who doesn't have access is lurking and reading your boards they will miss out on a piece of your story.
