Games! HERE IS WHERE the stuff of nonsense can be found. While not directly related to the Astonishment experience, the games forum serves as an apt stress-reliever as well as a very effective means of inspiration. Also, it is quite reliable if one is in search of a good laugh.

A Step Beyond | The Astral Realm BEYOND THE PERCEPTIONS of the common man is a world of intellect given form. Referred to most commonly as the astral plain, this higher place of being is indeed the active culmination of all thought. Those with telepathic powers can mentally ascend to the astral plane. Once there, they can travel in their astral form to places they might not otherwise be able to reach, walking the thin borders that distinguishes thoughts, dreams, and reality. The Astral plane is incredibly susceptible to powerful thought, and only those of formidable telepathic skill should engage in any serious business here.

Mount Taurus: X-Point LOCATED APPROXIMATELY THIRTY miles west of the Xavierian University, the miles-long subterranean complex known as X-point serves as the base of operations for the central X-teams; only active X-men are capable of accessing this area, and no students are allowed. X-point lines much of the interior of the expansive Mount Taurus and houses all of the X-men's paramilitary transports along with their various high-order technologies. X-point is indeed the heart of the X-men's paramilitary operation whereas the Xavier Institute serves as the soul, and it is from this point that the X-men watch ever vigilantly, always waiting for their chance to protect and serve a world that both hates and fears them for their awesome abilities. Interestingly enough, transit between the school, Cold Springs, Manhattan, and Westchester have been developed by several billion dollars and the technologies of Forge, allowing the X-men to travel easily and quickly by way of an underground monorail.

The Xavier Institute: Grounds A SPRAWLING VICTORIAN university set on the outskirts of Cold Springs, New York, the Xavier Institute is an enormous mansion that spans for several acres. Boasting an ornately decorated courtyard and Empirically-inspired interior design, the mansion is both highly sophisticated and beautiful. It is here that the mutants of the next generation are taught to thrive in a world that might otherwise fear and hate them for their various talents.

Xavier Institute: Eastern Quadrant Aside from the Women's Dormitory Facilities, the Eastern Quadrant of the Xavier Institute is also home to the school's traditional recreational areas. Preceding the dormitories is the hedge-maze; an area which also happens to house the Xavier Institute's famed Eastern Gardens, and pool. Nearby, one may also find the school's sports facilities.

Xavier Institute: Western Quadrant On the Western end of the Xavier Institute stands the Male Dormitory Facilities. Furthermore, this area houses an array of the school's vehicles. If one feels the need to escape, they may find their way to the Hudson Riverside and accompanying Boathouse. Also near the river's edge is an outside Auditorium, where plays and musicians can preform or practice.

New York City NEW YORK CITY has become world-famous for the high-concentration of super-heroics within; and for the crime. It is within this bustling gargantuan of a city that many adventures take place, be they in the form of a mere trip to the mall, or something far more untoward. Holding many boroughs and several avenues of life, there is very little that one is unable to do in this, the city that never sleeps.

District X DEEP WITHIN THE HEART of the Manhattan Borough thrives the world's second largest concentration to mutants. Dwarfed only by Genosha, Mutant town is home to an almost exclusively homosuperior population. Though hardly secluded, the mutant population is largely left unchecked by the rest of the world, and as such, the crime rate tends be high. This has given the area a name of notoriety toward outsiders, who believe the place to be nothing more than a mutant ghetto. Within, however, mutants thrive on their identities; from fashion design to night clubs, mutant town features nearly every walk of mutant sub-culture. For those who think that this town may be subject to any abuse the world has to offer, there is also X-Factor - part-time private investigation agency, and full-time protective body of mutant town.

Cold Spring On Hudson LOCATED IN ONE of the country's most affluent regions, Cold-Spring-On-Hudson is both extremely beautiful and academically vibrant. Much like it's neighbor, Westchester, Cold-Spring-On-Hudson is a wealthy, small, and cozy community. In the town can be found various locales such as coffee shops, a shopping mall, and even a local movie theater. The denizens of the Xavier Institute often spend their time here, for it is the nearest town to the school, and an ample locale for those who do not wish to travel all the way to the New York City boroughs.

Madrid, Spain: The Hellfire Club AN HONEST VIEW of all the high-society has to offer, the Hellfire Club is the natural poster-child for wealth and vanity. Standing proudly at the northernmost end of the fabulous Madrid, the gold encrusted palatial chateaus is the sweet drink of solitude, and decadence in an otherwise bustling city. While home to the world's elite - having dealings in both world politics and economics - the Hellfire Club also serves as the base of operations for the mysterious, though dreadfully powerful Inner Circle.

The South Sea: Genosha GENOSHA. PROMISED ISLAND, mutant utopia! Such are the words of the sovereign island's national anthem, and indeed, they ring true beneath the successful reign of King Exodus I, who has transformed Genosha from the ash it once was to a veritable mutant Mount Olympus. Considered by Exodus to be the land of the chosen, Genosha is open only to mutants, and even then, not every mutant is welcome. Citizenship is hard to come by, and despite its small size, the isolationist Genosha has become one of the wealthiest self-contained communities in the world.
