The Tasmania Law Reform Institute has put out an Issues paper on non-therapeutic male circumcision. It's online at
http://www.law.utas.edu.au/reform/document...erA4toPrint.pdf

It's very good and thoroughly referenced. (Did you know the IRA hid notes under their foreskins? I didn't)

It looks as though they want a lot of Intactivist input, though it also looks like it will come down for minimal change with a parental consent loophole. I hope that as many as possible circumcised men (especially Jewish men) who resent what was done to them, write a response to the proposition that parents may consent to non-therapeutic circumcision.

I recommend you read all the sections of the paper that are relevant to you, and answer the questions they ask at the end of each section. They have made a preliminary consideration of a lot of the issues, and don't need their wheels reinvented.

Responses should be made in writing by the 28th August 2009. If possible, responses should be sent by email to: law.reform@utas.edu.au
