Recently, it's come to light that many of our members have been getting hacked in Runescape. Obviously, getting hacked is no fun, so I'd like to list some measures that you can take to improve your password security and thereby decrease the chances that something will happen to your account.

1. Get an appropriate anti-virus system on your comp. AVG and Norton are both good, but your stupid_computer.gif needs to be up to date with its protection.

2. Change your passwords. I'd recommend changing both your forum and Runescape passwords, but DO NOT make them the same!

3. Be careful what links you click on!

Other than that, not much to say. I can assure you that there are no keyloggers/viruses embedded in the forums, but just the same, take measures to improve your internet security!

If you can get it, I suggest McAfee, works well for me, and I haven't had spyware or virus problems ever since I've had it.

I suggest AVG. It's free and excellent.
If you do have money to buy the full version, you get the firewall too.

Also you could try confusing any keyloggers you might have by not entering your password all at once at the login screen (entering half your username, then half your password, then the rest of your username and then password).. not sure how effective it is, but I've never gotten 'hacked' from it biggrin.gif

No. I think the keyloggers also log mouse clicks.

I know some softwares that you can either install it manually (costs less) or you can install it remotely with absolutely no FW detecting it (costs more). The software is 100% legal, though the company monitors the data you collected so they decide whether you are using it for good or bad reasons. If you want, it, I can Pm you the company and the software.
PS. I can't help you setting a illegal keylogger for two reasons: First, i don't want to get into trobule. Second, I don't know how to tongue.gif
