Ancient Legion > Council of Members > People Leaving Clan

Well I see that many people is Leaving AL, so I decided to Create this topic, so you can tell us what's wrong with the clan, or what should we change to make AL better.
I know I might not be the apropried person to make this topic, but I think that if no one does, we will never be able to know whats wrong!

remember people AL FTW!! happy.gif

> Approved. If you think AL is not doing well, instead of leaving and creating your own clan so you can fix what you think it's wrong, you can, and should say whatever bugs you. Otherwise, we'll never improve.
> Changes can't be made unless the members say where, to what and why should we change!

If you haven't noticed, members are dropping out of the skies left and right, and it's kind of ridiculous. After the departure of damon, many have decided to either follow him or just leave. I'm starting this thread in order to discuss what we should do in order to turn this trend around, and start getting better again instead of falling down.

Discuss.

1 - More events/wars. Its even made me want to leave. We have nothing to do in this clan, really. 2 wars/week and 4-6 events/week would be good, IMO, instead of 0-1 war/week and 1-2 events/week
2 - The whole clan is inactive. Get them to be active. I read a great plan on the forums, maybe we could try it out?

Its called Activity Points, and its something that people of higher authority would take care of.

+2 - For making at least 7 posts a week.
+4 - For attending 1 event a week
+5 - For attending any war

-2 - For making less than 2 posts a week
-4 - For not attending any events over the course of 2 weeks (without a pre-told excuse)
-5 - For not attending at least 1 of the past 2 wars.

This would all be kept on a public post. It might be hard to manage, though, due to the size of the clan. After a few weeks, though, it would cut the clan down to just the active members.

Once they get to certain amount (Like, -30 or so. If this is implemented, it will be decided later) the member will be kicked out of the clan. We could also add a new rank, for anyone over (about 75 points, although, again, this will be decided later) that would give them a sense of accomplishment and a colored username. They could also be used for 'tiebreakers' when choosing new authorities, also encouraging users to be active.

Overall, i think that idea can be enhanced to help with the activity of this clan, and more activity = more events and wars, like Damon said in the cc once.

That will help alot, both of those, IMO. If we DON'T do that, it will just keep going downhill. Quite honestly, ive even thought of quutting, and i but im not the only one >.>

Very, very creative. Perhaps the leaders should look into this. And yes, I agree with you that there should be more events. However to take on the point of the Event Coordinators, it can be difficult to schedule new and creative events every week. I'm sure that we can get more in though.

Continue Discussing.

Thanks. I got the main idea on the RSOF, but i kind of added on to it. I really hope that we can turn this around, becuase ATM, Damon's Clan sounds like a great option o.O.

I was planning on making a similar topic myself but I see that's not necessary now. Keep the suggestions coming. smile.gif

We've had hard times before, which, in fact, have been a lot worse then this: at one point, we were down to just a few members. No doubt, the departure of many people to Damon's clan will hurt us in the short-term. I'm not going to try to talk around you guys because you're smarter than that. I just wanted to let you know, that no matter how many people they get from us, what they CANNOT weaken is our sense of determination and perseverance.

Lamb and I absolutely plan to keep the clan alive, and I can assure you that, pending the hard work of the staff and members, we will again regain our footing and come out even stronger than before.

I worrie that clan may become run down and have now more members left 2 high council members active 3 event team members and 1 warlord today i was thinking maybe i would get the warlord spot but now without members I'm getting worried maybe we need recruit some more Leaders but for now this is the worst I have ever seen AL

D12 AL FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so stop quiting! smile.gif

That system is good, but for the events and war points maybe not, because not everyone can make them at the times they are.

I'd say lack of active members. We have very little events but even if we'd have the 4-6 events a week (That's what our recruitment post says in Tip.It...) what would be the point if no-one comes to them?

Posted by: xdjz Jun 16 2009, 04:35 AM
I totally agree that we should have more events and wars, these could make us
united.

In my point of view, we should stay more united and not leaving AL, some of u may be dissapointed in some probelms in the AL, but i am sure we will solve them eventually.

I also suggest in recruiting more members so that we can have more people participating in the event and wars.

Should'nt we work harder together in times like this?

Just my opinion..

Posted by: Runeter2 Jun 16 2009, 07:28 AM
We do kind of lack active members. But having like 2-3 Wars and 5-7 Events a week would be great, making it more fun, you also get time get to know our members too.

Lord i'm inactive for one week and u call me never online.
Take a chill pill dude. =p

I guess the point is is that if we want a better clan the clan members have to work for it. If we want to have a successful clan, people have to actually try to go to events scheduled, so that event coordinators can schedule more events and know that people will show up.

"Perhaps we need to start with getting more people to show up to the events we already have before adding more?"

"Or maybe the coordinators need to schedule more exciting events?"

Whichever you may think is correct, both should be happening. It's depressing to see all of these members that have been here go. We ALL need to start stepping up our game, the success of the clan relies on ALL of us.

My opinion smile.gif

Right now, everyone who left is a retired member, so that they could see their leaving topics. They've all had 24 hours to do so, except for Animal. As of this moment, I'm going to change them all to clan friend --because they're in another clan: it's time to move on from them. Yes, their loss will hurt us, but I know we have the people and the perseverance to keep progressing as a clan and to become even better in the future. biggrin.gif

Posted by: Kevinsaurus Jun 16 2009, 04:44 PM
Yea we've gotta move on from those people, can't cling on to them forever.

Al is still Al and we progress with what we have now.

Good luck to everybody in a different clan now... now lets kick some cursing.gif lol

Even though he left, his idea was pretty good. Can I get a leader's feedback on this?

> Quick idea: How about using the warning system on reverse? Like: Giving green points for distinguished users. How's that?

Posted by: CyberianWolf Jun 17 2009, 06:05 AM
Good ideas floating around.....

Sorry to be the odd one out again, but I'm not favoring Mud's idea.
1. Someone has to keep track of all the points and thats a lot of work.
2. Just more rules to have to follow.
3. Honestly, We know whos active and who's not without following a point system.
4. We want our members to come to events and wars because they want to, not because they have to.

I heard about the idea to lower the CBT requirements. I'm on the fence here. Yam brought up a good point that this would be a step backwards. In another post, he shows how lowering our levels in the long run would hurt us and he has a valid point. On the other hand, lower the regs might mean more incoming members, which we could really use right now. I think I'm leaning towards lowering them.

My main issue has been time. I always seem to have to work when we do most of our events. Granted that's my prob, not the clans....is anyone else having this issue? Why aren't we pulling well for wars and events?

Old Ancient Chinese Proverb once say....
-Use ur best Ancient Chinese Proverb Voice- huh.gif
"Running clan like Roller Coaster....on way up, smooth and exciting, but when come down you get out of control fassst." If we work together........Our clan will not only survive, we can make it one helluva ride!

Stay positive! thumbup.gif

@CYB - That Chinese Proverb thing was actually pretty good.

and also we should have more clan training.
Old Sick Mate Proverb cause i dont know where it comes from once say:
A Champion Team* will always beat A Team of Champions.

*That Champion Team could be Ancient Legion one day with some training. we could be able to beat any Team of Champions

i was also thinking of applying for ec but i wouldnt really be able to make many of the events i host.

> What more rules? Being active? Maybe not those exact guidelines, but how about just half-arbitrarily giving out positive points to active members, or members that make themselves be noticed as active?

3. Honestly, We know whos active and who's not without following a point system.
