Ancient Legion > Council of Members > Impromptu War with LTH

Posted by: starwolf_ftw Apr 5 2009, 04:27 PM
Well, today was one of those days again. A short prep war once again with LTH, yet this time we did alot better then last time. I don't have any pics of our lineup (feel free to add anyone wink.gif ), but I do know we had 15-14 people against 15 of LTH. There are some things I saw that we did well on...

1) We piled decently, but can always do better. Many were on the piles most of the time, but we did have a few stragglers who were attacking aimlessly. What I suggest what we do is that if we can't find the pile and someone is calling it, also call what direction the pile is, so lost members can find it.

2) We need more binders. Techy can't do this alone and I know everyone, EVERYONE in LTH is equipped to bind. That is one of their requirements, if one binder falls, two more take their place. Maybe we should start a new requirement to bring binds if you can bind because one or two binders is not enough for an entire war.

3) People, people, people PLEASE stop calling your own piles. I saw a few names that were calling when they don't have the rank to do it. The more people call piles, the more everyone is confused, so please leave the calling to Damon and Golden. They might have a hard time calling, but that's because they are either being piled and tanking or they're dead. Cut them some slack. One way we can fix this is by setting a caller before the war even starts. When we mass in Clan wars, talk to the NPC there and set the caller to Damon or whoever is leading the war.

Now, overall, this was much much better then our last skirmish with LTH at an impromptu war. Last time, we didn't take down 2 of them and we were evenly numbered. This time we were evenly numbered but vastly outleveled, and we still managed to take 5 of them down. LTH has spoken to me and said it's been a few wars since they have lost 5 in a war, especially against a clan of our stats. Great job peeps.

This may have been a loss, but we need to consider this a well fought loss. We did probably the best we could do with our members and levels that showed up, and that's all we can say about that.

If you have any thoughts, questions, querries, or comments, say them biggrin.gif

Yeah, they did a good job against us. We did well though, five kills was a decent amount.

Shame i had some 119 on my [BEEP] all fight busting 23's left, right and centre..

..Managed to kill Bravehero12 though smile.gif

It might be out of my position to post this synopsis of the short-prep war, but no one did and I took initiative. I also would like to note that not many people skipped the war like we did last time, but we had about 4-5 people not go to war that were in CC

Bravehero was not a tank in this war. Ipwn told me he was an anti-sniper, and sure enough he stayed on my butt most of the war.

Yeah, pretty on the mark comments, Star. I'd just like to add that what I think did us in today was our lack of piling. A good chunk of this rests with me, because once Damon went down, I wasn't making decisive or timely calls, but at the same time, everyone needs to get on the person who I, or Damon, or Darklord, or whoever, calls. dry.gif Bravehero tanked us dry because we only had like 5-6 on him out of our 9-10 total. If you're not piling, you're not helping down the target, but you're also more likely to be piled yourself because you're out in the open. Again, I deserve much of the blame for this, but we've got to do a better job piling if we want to be successful. smile.gif

Other than that, not much to say. These guys are a legit 95+ warring clan and showed it today with their levels. We were outleveled from the beginning HARD, and other than the piling, I think on the whole we held our own pretty well.

Apologies to Biizurk for getting hit with the biggest KO I've ever seen before warring: 26-21 at once. blink.gif

I got mass sniped the entire war, which is why I didn't bind a lot. Then a lvl 119 wouldn't gtfo, so by the time Lth piled me, I only had 2 pizzas left sad.gif

Sorry I wasn't there guys, I only noticed after it was over sad.gif
Calling piles seems to be our problem when damon gets piled, usually im there to spam who to attack and I wasn't today, sorry

sorry star wolf ill bring blinds next time so techy doesn't have to do it all smile.gif

well if u might not have saw but i binded the first pile.. i pretty much had him at a stand still since none of my binds failed.. but after him is where i got piled so thats where the binding went solely on tech. I was suprised at how we went tit for tat with them at the beginning but of course after a while their overwheleming levels got to us. We didnt have enough people at the skill positions (sniper, binders) so we really got tore apart there. I had to sub bind with tech and dager had to snipe with dflame, not really our best lineup.. good fight from what i saw but i left after i died cuz my friends called and we went to play ball

Lol the problem is we dont have enough people with half decent mage.. i mean tbh i was sceptical about tech binding seeing he had only 72 mage.. thats the problem with al... we are a clan that has only good melee stats on average.. No1 has mage and range, which makes us confined in what we do... This is why we needed to have our next competition b magic.. give people the reason to go get high mage.. cuz tbh i feel u need 80+ to bind and druidic robes for full effect. I myself are gonna work on getting drudic robes for times where im forced to bind like today. but no, at this moment we are no where near having the whole clan bind. right now, only 13 people in the whole clan have over 80 mage, and of that include me and dark, which cannot bind during wars since he is pile leader and since im sniper, then there is speed, who is inactive.. so thats down to 10 of us in the whole clan that can bind outta 75.. which is sad tbh... matter of fact.. make it 9 since i dont see simba attending anywars. this is why we cant mass bind.. plus.. people arent strong enough to survive an attack even if they binded.. some people would get k0ed in seconds in robes. We need to raise the overall clan mage and range levels... im pretty sure if we can either mass bind or mass snipe we would be able to go to work on some clans like LTH

Well Damon, we could try it out next war because having only certain people bring binds puts us at an extreme disadvantage because having no binds is just surrender. We need to everyone with 60+ mage to bring binds because some weak binds is much better then no binds at all. If anything, could we try it out in the next war?

Posted by: Chuffa Apr 6 2009, 05:17 AM
I'll bind next time, i'm 88 magic.

110% agree

At the same time they get practice on binding so theyll be better when they hit high lvl tongue.gif

Not necessarily because by taking up room in the inventory for binds and robes, you're losing pizzas you could have for tanking. rolleyes.gif

I bring binds to every pvp event we do, but I have a lot of trouble makin it to stuff these days. I didn't know this war was happening until I saw it last night. sad.gif

Posted by: damon Apr 6 2009, 09:16 AM
star we can try it but ull see the constant waste of binds if the people we are fighting have high magic themselves.. unless we all get druidic this isnt recommeneded

Posted by: starwolf_ftw Apr 6 2009, 11:07 AM
All I'm asking is that we try this. You are worried about wasting binds, but we shouldn't worry about wasting binds and worry about which ones hit. You'll be supprised how many times it will.

ill bind next time,
cos i r pro bind0r :].

Posted by: Kerkennah Apr 6 2009, 03:09 PM
I'm good at binding, but my magic level isn't high enough, only 60. Also I'm too low level to bind and my def isn't high, but if I have to, I will.

Posted by: Golden arm42 Apr 6 2009, 03:09 PM
I could be a pro binder with 49 mage. wub.gif

If anyone wants to see this. Oh, and btw, Ipwn actually turned off his chat for the war, which was a new trick to me tongue.gif

Posted by: K Arthur90 Apr 6 2009, 03:17 PM
Trick? Oo?
Why should we turn off private chat?

Posted by: Dager007 Apr 6 2009, 03:21 PM
He did it so I couldn't pick out the green dot, since he knew I had him added obviously.
