|Ancient Legion > GFX > How to post/take pictures|

| Well, today I noticed some people don't know how to upload/take ScrenShots, so this guide will hopefully help them.
::Taking a Screen and Cropping it::
-Easy. Simply press the Print Screen button on the right side of your keyboard (generally next to Backspace) and open MS Paint or any other image editing program.
-Paste your image (Ctrl+V), and select the crop tool (it's a dotted square) from the toolbar to the left.
-Circle (well, actually square) the are you want to post, and when you're done press Copy (Ctrl+C).
-Open a new blank file (Ctrl+N), and paste (Ctrl+V) your image there. You'll see your image magically appeared, along with a white background surrounding it. If you need to take this off, select the crop tool again and click on one of the edges of the Canvas (the white part).
-Now simply move your mouse (while maintaining left-click) up/down to remove/extend the white background as much as you want.
-Save your image (Ctrl+S) and name it like "image.png" or image.bmp"*. I don't suggest .jpg or .jpeg since those lower the quality of the original image.
*If you're using Paint.NET or PhotoShop, the default save files (.pdn and .psd respectively) are perfect quality as well, support Alpha Channel and Layers, though you can't upload .psd/.pdn files on the net.
Congratulations, you have just advanced a cropping level, your cropping level is 99!
::Uploading your ScreenShot::
-Even easier than taking and cropping a SS. Go to Imageshack.us, or if you don't mind registering to Photobucket.com.
-Upload your image, and Copy (Ctrl+C) the link that says "Link for Forums" or something along those lines.
-When here, or in any other forums, simply paste (Ctrl+V) the link in your post, and add the image tags.
-When you do, it should look like this:
<The tags are optional, if you don't add them a link to your image will be shown instead.>
And you're done! Now go and post your images all around the forum.

| Good gyude, but do NOT use imageshack for big pics, as it just gives a fumbnail.
Use either Photobucket or Tinypic.

I believe thumbmails can be easily removed, just delete the extra text.

Most guides don't need too many people to post, but you can see the views. I wouldn't worry about it, because if someoen has a problem, they'll use your guide to solve it
