Title: Concerning A Requirement Boost

U R Dead Nao - June 30, 2009 07:31 PM (GMT)
Sooo, I've heard a lot of chat about raising the requirements to 90+ and i've been thinking about it. Personally I'm not concerned because my combat level will be 90 by the end of the week. However it seems that our clan draws a lot of attention from members around 70 or 80, and I think that we need some way to embrace the possible future members who are serious about getting 90+ to fully join AL.
I was thinking we could have a group of people who are like mentors or something. One of these "mentors" would be assigned a person and would monitor this person, make friends with this person, and encourage them to level with helpful tips and etc if needed.
I'm not sure, I thought it was a pretty good idea.

King Arthur - June 30, 2009 09:37 PM (GMT)
> This is being discussed right now. And this 'mentor' idea was already put in discussion (and it looks promising). As soon as we come up with an idea you guys will be the sixth (and soforth) people to know about it.

U R Dead Nao - June 30, 2009 09:50 PM (GMT)
Sweet, thanks for the clarification K. I guess great minds think alike, right?

King Arthur - June 30, 2009 10:04 PM (GMT)
> Yeah. But if you got any suggestions, we'd surely consider it.

Lit - June 30, 2009 11:54 PM (GMT)
The sixth? Hope I'm not included in that "sixth" place, can't wait to see what you guys have in mind. :P

Kerkennah - June 30, 2009 11:57 PM (GMT)
Why don't we slowly increase ? Like 80, then 85, then 90

King Arthur - July 1, 2009 01:19 AM (GMT)
@ Lit: The high ranked are discussing this. Since they are (Golden Arm, Lamb Bug, Alex, Me and Fivebrain - that makes five), as soon as we announce a decision, you'll be the sixth to know ^_^

@ Kerk: This has been brought into discussion as well, Kerk.

the thief207 - July 1, 2009 01:41 AM (GMT)
i agree with kerk that there should be a gradual increase and i know you've discussed this arth, just setting my vote <_<

Kevinsaurus - July 1, 2009 02:38 AM (GMT)
A gradual increase or any increase for the matter does not necessarily need to be instilled into the clan UNLESS the clan members have the inability to effectively raise their levels at a quick and efficient speed, enough to enable ancient legion to become more successful, especially in matters such as warring

101laxkid2 - July 1, 2009 07:57 PM (GMT)
If you guys are gonna increase the reqs, plz give a significant advance so we who won't make the level have some time to focus on our cb lvling... Don't just say, "ok, as of now the reqs our 80"... say like "we are changing clan reqs to 80 cb, effective in 1 week." Dont wanna get like blindsided or something...

King Arthur - July 1, 2009 09:47 PM (GMT)
> Don't worry, lax. We're not making any changes soon, it seems.

Lit - July 1, 2009 10:21 PM (GMT)
But that doesn't mean you can go lazy and not level combat! Even though at any req raise all of the current members will stay, you will have some time to match your combat with the set requirements. If you don't, back to Trial. :P

Let's arrange something. For those people under 80, leveling isn't that hard so you should be getting at least one easy combat level in 7 days. For those over 80 but below 90, it could be 1 combat level between a week and a half and 2 weeks. Obviously, all these depend on the efficiency of your training methods and the dedication you put on your training. Resuming, these values can increase or decrease depending on your nolifeness.

Get to train now! And if you need any tips on how/were to train, don't hesitate to PM me. :)

Duplo M - July 1, 2009 10:40 PM (GMT)
I agree with lit!
And btw when i come back ill fully dedicate to train combat!

Kerkennah - July 1, 2009 10:58 PM (GMT)
I don't think my combat matters, because it takes very long to level up for me. After I get 99 str, my only combat levels will be through hp levels.

You are an exception Kerk. The Leaders, the Council and most members have seen how well you war and understand why you can't level up defense and attack. You would be inside if we were to rise the reqs to 80+ anyways. ;)

101laxkid2 - July 2, 2009 02:33 AM (GMT)
1 cb lvl a week? That shouldn't be hard at all... I just wanted to make sure i won't ahve to drop everything and train cb...

Kerkennah - July 2, 2009 03:42 AM (GMT)
1 combat a week is actually a very good idea, I see that working out great.

Lord - July 6, 2009 12:39 PM (GMT)
ok well what bout skillers? im kinda both, but i havent raised my combat in a while. and i could prolly do 1 combat a week, but that would mean i could never skill cuz it would prolly take me a whole week. cuz i dont train on the fastest monsters, i train on my slayer monsters. so i could prolly get attack str or defense lvls, but idk bout a combat lvl. ill try to, but i dont wanna waste my whole time training combat, i wanna even everything out.
ok i think i misunderstood, im 90+ so i wouldnt have to get 1 combat lvl a week, that would be for the lower lvls my bad.

and if we raised it to 90+, would it be 90+ f2p combat or90+ including summoning?

King Arthur - July 6, 2009 04:57 PM (GMT)
> First of all: Our combat requirements will always be F2P.
> Second, Nao, if we actually had mentors, would you like to be one of them and 'adopt' a newbie?

Lit - July 6, 2009 05:41 PM (GMT)
I want Arthur to adopt me. I have no problems on being a mentor either. :)

About what Lord said: 1 combat level (providing you're below 80 combat) can't take you more than a day. I put a week because I know many of you "dislike" training to put it some way. And by the way, Slayer creatures is one of the fastest ways to train combat. ;)

I would like to remember you all we're not a skiller clan. And even if we're not a full-warring clan we still need to train combat.

Kevinsaurus - July 6, 2009 06:33 PM (GMT)
omg omg i wanna be an f2p combat training mentor pl0x ^_^

King Arthur - July 6, 2009 06:41 PM (GMT)
> No no no. There's nothing about mentor thing going on. I just asked Nao a question :P

Kerkennah - July 6, 2009 08:04 PM (GMT)
How does one apply to be a mentor?

King Arthur - July 6, 2009 08:53 PM (GMT)
> <_< Forget about that, I wanted to tell Nao that the mentor thing wouldn't go well because few ppl would like to help narbs. But it seems I was wrong...

I'd like to help, so if it will be implemented, I would like to apply.

Dylan - July 7, 2009 11:43 AM (GMT)
im no narb!

oh and btw what if people just dont want to train combat? you cant force them

If they don't want to train combat they're out. ;) We're not a skilling clan, keep that in mind. You must gain a combat level in the times I wrote above (depending on your current combat level). If you don't... well, I guess it's a warning. After 5 warnings *BANG*, banned.

And actually we can force them. Just like you need to have 20 posts, attend 2 Events and be 75+ Combat to be a Full Member you need to show you are training to stay as one. This is why I think the Mentor idea would rock, to keep an eye on the new members that might "go lazy" after they get Full Member access.

tubu1982 - July 7, 2009 07:53 PM (GMT)
ok, i like the mentor thing, but we will need a level req (90+ other than pures) to be a mentor, right? and about the level a week, if you cant get one more than an hour a day like me (usually) what happens? do you get banned because of irl busyness? (is that a word?)

King Arthur - July 7, 2009 08:10 PM (GMT)
> Listen, there's nothing defined about the mentor thing, since we haven't raised the requirements (and we shan't do in quite some time). However, you are free to recruit lower levels from Tip.it, Zybez, Sals, and others and assume their 'mentoring' yourselves. Just remember that you'll be responsible for the newbie actions in-game :o

Joga Bonito - July 18, 2009 09:44 PM (GMT)
What if we can't level combat that fast/don't want to level certain skills?

I think 75+ is plenty good, I mean it was good back in the days when it was 60 or lower.

Don't bump topics that are 10 or more days old. We have some newer important stuff going on at the moment. Closing.

Always thought it was 10. :o The topic was kind of dead anyways.

animal magik - July 19, 2009 01:49 AM (GMT)
Lulz. I don't think so.

Only because it's open doesn't mean you can post everywhere. Closing.
