Title: Resigning as an Event Coordinator
animal magik - April 24, 2009 11:06 PM (GMT)
I have decided that I am going to announce my retirement as an Event Coordinator. It's been fun, but I'm not going to stay in it when all it is is disrespect from a lot of other people. While I've been an EC, out of the events I've scheduled, I've had two started before I've been there, in a different world, disregarding everything that's been scheduled but the actual event. Then, four times there's just been no one showing at all.
I'm not going to stay in the job if all I get is no one bothering to come, or people just disrespecting everything and starting an hour early, without the host.
Seriously, a lot of you guys need to learn respect.

:'( Some of this is because of me :'( :'(

Yep, some of it, but not most.

> I'm sorry to be oportunist, but I think this is one of the reasons of this matter:
> Not all of our members live on the USA, hence not all of our members must correctly convert from GMT to EST TimeZones. What happened today was that Magik did put the correct time on the OFC = GMT, but he kinda guessed the EST TimeZone as I would've done myself, and even asked someone to check if it was right. Kerk only read the "EST" time, so he started what looked like an hour early. That's why we must stick to the OFC, and put the EST as a simple convenience, so this won't happen anymore.

Yep, and seeing as I don't live in America I think people should pay more attention to the GMT time...
Also, everytime I have scheduled an event because I have been unsure of the EST time, I put (please check?) or (please confirm?) next to it, and no one ever did.

Ahh...I was afraid this might happen. :( Sure you won't give it another try if I kick some @$$ about people not showing up?
I hope you stay on as EC, but even if you don't, I'd like to thank you for making events at terribly inconvenient times for yourself (I wouldn't be waking up at 6:30 to attend a war) and making a considerable sacrifice in order to improve the clan. It won't be forgotten. :)

I don't really think that'll help Golden.
And I don't really want that to happen either. I'll stay on for the Duel Tournament and I still really want to try run a contest so I'll stay on for that too. I might just have a break for a couple of weeks then get back to scheduling events.
And this time too there was a little bit of confusion... =/
But in cases like that people should just wait for the host.
Edit: So yeah I'm not resigning, just taking a break from scheduling events for awhile, but the Dueling Tournament is still going ahead. So don't expect to see other events from me till mid May or so.

> Great that you are not resigning. Topic closed then.
>PS.: We should schedule all events on OFC from now on.
animal magik - April 25, 2009 11:28 PM (GMT)
That's what I'll be doing.
