Title: Runescape Chat

K Arthur90 - March 17, 2009 12:11 AM (GMT)
I've been noticing, since RS's new CEO revamps, that now that the censor is a little more "loose" on the chat, people are abusing it. I know, sometimes the joke/situation requires the use of "[BEEP]" on the chat, but there are some that people say just.... to say, and I (personally) don't think that's good to have on the CC. Imagine a, let's say, 12-y-old comes into our CC to assess if this is the right clan for him, and he reads:

[Anc Legion]A:Lmao, stoopid censor
[Anc Legion]B:Yeah, they block *** but not damn
[Anc Legion]A:Damn is a bad word?
[Anc Legion]C:Of course!
[Anc Legion]A:Lol.
[Anc Legion]B:They don't block [BEEP]less.
[Anc Legion]A:Or babyshit
[Anc Legion]B:Jits[BEEP]smehardnot
[Anc Legion]C:Lol
[Anc Legion]A:Rofl.

I mean, that doesn't add anything to the conversation, and the "wannabe" member sees that as "the usual environment" he'll get if he joins. Is that what we want for AL?

Agreed. This shouldn't be happening. It brings me back to my post; we need to start acting more mature in-game and on the forums.

I don't even see when the cc is like this, don't think i would want to see it regardless.

emad - March 17, 2009 03:08 AM (GMT)
Well if a 12 year old is joining that probably won't help the maturity level in this clan.

starwolf_ftw - March 17, 2009 03:23 AM (GMT)
I have been getting on to people about abusing the system. Every time I see someone abuse it, I tell them they have a warning. Once more and they are kicked from the clan chat for the time being. Normally everyone behaves afterwards, but we just gotta keep on our toes for those who wish to really screw around.

Yeah, i have to be honest. I also have abused the censors in the clan chat when other poeple were there. I'm very sorry for that. I accept being warned. But i also want this to stop as i see few people who does this too.

hey, I resent that. Im not more mature then matt? Im 11! I think im preeeety mature.

K Arthur90 - March 17, 2009 08:38 PM (GMT)
Ok star, since you do it, I'll feel free to do it to.
From now one any Senior/Council/Leader/Lamb Bug/Golden Arm reads censor abuse, the "abuser" will get a warning. After two warnings, kick. Agreed?

starwolf_ftw - March 17, 2009 09:02 PM (GMT)
No, I think one warning is more then enough. You give them one warning, and if they continue, kick 'em.

Golden arm42 - March 17, 2009 09:25 PM (GMT)
You tell them what they're doing isn't appropriate. They don't listen. They get kicked. :)

We have always been a mature clan; let's not lower ourselves to the level of immaturity that is causing a problem for some of our members.

Chuffa - March 17, 2009 10:24 PM (GMT)
Last person i saw abuse it was Matt, and he got a warning. IF i see it, i'll deal with it.

K Arthur90 - March 17, 2009 10:58 PM (GMT)
I must say, right yesterday I saw it. Won't mention any names, neither what time I saw it, just pointing out.

Chuffa - March 17, 2009 11:05 PM (GMT)
If it is serious, provide proof and report it to council / leader and we'll deal with it :)
