You guys must remember the rant I had about how bad is the party room since I never got a single good drop from it.
I just posted the following on suggestions thread on runescape forums:

How many times have you stopped whatever you were doing to attend to that "10M drop party in 5 minutes!" call? But when you get there, no matter how many ballons you manage to pop (*if* you manage to pop any at all), you get 2 dust runes, 10 threads and 5 leather boots. Then you see that (insert hatred name here)-player yelling: "Woot!? D legs!!!", and he shows it off.

I find it a pain when that happens, specially if that happened EVERY SINGLE TIME I'VE BEEN THERE.

What I'm suggesting is: the chance you get to get something useful/rare/expensive from the ballons increase with the ballons you popped.

What I'm thinking could be something like:

BP = Baloons popped on that party.
DW = The drop party's total worth.
WO = total worth obtained on that drop party.
WP = Next item's max (and probable) worth.
Σ = Sigma. Means the sum of all. In this case, it'd be the sum of all parties UP's the player has been to during the last 365 days.
UP = (BP x DW x K). This is what rises as the player goes to drop parties.
CW = Current drop party total worth.
LD = Last drop party obtained items' worth.
LW = Last drop party (which the player obtained loot) worth.
K*, K and K are correcting factor that JaGeX may use to adapt the formulae.

Each drop party would add "chance" to the player given by
(BP x DW x K) - WO. Let's call this UP

Then each ballon would have a personal player chance of dropping an item, which worth would be given by
WP = Σ UP x CW x K- (LD x LW x K)


Resuming: The more the players go to drop parties their chance of obtaining something better increases, while it decreases when the player gets items. The chance increases more when players go to high worth parties, and get no drops, and decreases less when they get low worth items.

At last, let's say two players have WP = 1m, and they're going to the same party. When they pop baloons, to decide who receives the highest drop, either Σ UP can be used or (LD x LW x K).

This way players would be incentivated to keep going to drop parties, but wouldn't leave them with empty baloons as much as they currently do.

I'm no statistics guy, but JaGeX will surely know what I mean with all those formulae, since that is what JaGeX "random" events and lootshare systems are now currently based on.

Rofl. It's just it's not directed to the so famous:
"+1" or "STFU Noob, JAGeX will never read you suggestion" or even "Stop whining noob just don't go to 'dorp praties'"
The suggestion is directed to JAGeX programmers and JMods, because they'll understand. Also, the "resuming" paragraph translates from mathematicese to english.

i think i kinda understand whut yur saying and its a good point but i'd like to know how long you think it would take the workers at JaGeX to fit this idea into runescape?

BUt i like the idea, yesterday i was in 6 5m+ drop partys and i got 85k cash total! yay! <_<

mat, how quick they put the "lootshare/coinshare" idea? It's pretty much the same thing. Your chance increases with the amount of times you are unlucky, and decreases when you are lucky.

I don't think this will happen. Only because, the items from balloons are totally random. If there are 1,000 balloons, and lets say 10 rare items, the chance that any balloon contains that item is 1%. Now add in the 200 people in the party room, the chance of YOU getting that drop, is 0.0025%. (I think?) So, you're just REALLY unlucky Arthur :P

The drop the balloons leave are randomly calculated the moment you pop the balloon, not when they drop. This way drops wouldn't be as random as they are now, since your chance of getting a better drop increases with the empty balloons you pop.

tbh dude.... i didnt understand a word you said! but idk i think if you do that it would be less fun i like like it is and i think its still fun even if i dont get anything like yesterday it was 1mil drop i got 700k then 1 time i got 800k the i got dragon boots 1 time so idk i think it works good but idk i dont think jagex would do this and you confused me so much by all thoughs terms and my brain hurts but i think its fun and i dont think it should change but idk i think it might be a little bit fairer but how often do you see a 1mil+ drop anymore?

First, use some punctuation O_o
Second, if depending on a simple randomness is good, why isn't the lootshare system like that? Random loot for everyone, no matter how many monsters were killed?
