Title: Applications for Tech Admin

K Arthur90 - March 14, 2009 03:14 AM (GMT)
Since coolmage left, we have the Tech Admin position empty. Since the forums can run without a Tech Admin, it is not that urgent, but even if we simply want to change a "Closed" button, or change the banner, we can't, cuz our Council doesn't know how to edit and the Leaders do have their RL's ^_^.
So, we'll be needing a new Tech Admin soon.
I'm asking people interested to post their application here.
There is an official position, Tech Admin, which will take care of the forums inner workings, as well keeping it working and clean.

I'm very good at both Proboards and Invisionfree. I've made some pretty good sites before, which have all turned out pretty well. I'm not a total expert at it, but I can do simple little things that need to be done here and there.

You can't get it, you double posted!
Lol just joking, good luck to everyone who applies.
Me? I (proudly) suck at graphics! :D

starwolf_ftw - March 14, 2009 08:04 AM (GMT)
I personally would wait to Lamb and Golden gave this the ok Arthur... Even though you do one heck of a good job doing graphics and stuff.

Just be patient. There will be a thread about this soon.

Runeter going for warlord and tech admin at the same time?

Runeter looks the best opinion to me even though i dont know anything about programming :jester:

blompty2 - March 14, 2009 02:55 PM (GMT)
i vote icewolf
looks more experienced

Lamb Bug - March 14, 2009 04:04 PM (GMT)
I am so not qualified to choose here.

I no absolutely no programming. :P

K Arthur90 - March 14, 2009 07:14 PM (GMT)
Star, it's not the Graphics Guy Applications, it's tech admin. We need someone to actually put the new gfx on use ^_^

Also, I may have started the applications thread, but it's still up to the leaders to decide who's the next Tech Admin.

Lamb Bug - March 14, 2009 07:28 PM (GMT)
Shhhh...I was gonna announce this after the war today! Stop pre-empting me! :P

Right now, we need a new header. As the means of deciding who is the most tech-savvy, I'd like for everyone who's applying to make a header as an indication they know what they're doing. ;) Golden and I will pick someone shortly. :D

K Arthur90 - March 14, 2009 07:40 PM (GMT)
Erm... Lamb... Making a banner is not the same as coding a cs sheet. They're pretty much different.
For example, star just made himself a new siggy. Pretty well made. But he has no idea on what a css is :P

Icewolf68 - March 14, 2009 07:44 PM (GMT)
Yeah, graphics and tech are completely different

Gods of Dusk - The clan that Lord and I led before I joined Ancient Legion. (most of the pictures seemed to have been deleted, but you get the point.)

Good luck to all that apply.

I'm simple with both ;)

Gl to everyone whos out there!

HTML = HyperText Markup Language
And yes, CSS is so much diffrent from an header that can be easily made within a few minutes..

CSS takes time to get perfect. Here is an example of my sites, but its an old one i don't work on it anymore. And yes i like POKEMON!!! Everything is coded and made by me, even the avatar and background images. This is pretty much old coding.

And i think i'm wrong but i don't remember if this was CSS, but i think, here is an example of CSS i made (Used on the site i linked)

K Arthur90 - March 16, 2009 10:49 PM (GMT)
Alex, HTML is Hypertext Markup Language. And XHTML is...? :P
Answer: pretty much the same thing. Just more annyoing to use

What you posted is a tag CSS. You pretty much set a different style to each tag. More complex websites uses multiple css files to be used with each frame and sometimes each table cell uses a different CSS file.
Also, I made a simple script to check CSS error on Python. I can give you a copy if you'd like ^_^ Pretty handy, though it doesn't check multiple CSSheets.
At last, pasting a CSSheet won't be of much help since only you, redeyes, me and icewolf know what's that about

Icewolf68 - March 16, 2009 11:01 PM (GMT)
Lolz everyone else is just in awe looking at us talk about it :P

How is it going to be decided who the next tech admin is?

ice

K Arthur90 - March 16, 2009 11:25 PM (GMT)
Poll, top of the page. DO NOT vote for yourself.

Runeter2 - March 17, 2009 01:13 PM (GMT)
Arthur like i said, that CSS sheet is an old one, i know how to use multiply CSS. And if i am correct.

XHTML = Extensible HyperText Markup Language

And yes, if i could, take a copy of it to check. Also yeah, pasting a sheet won't help, i just wanted to preview my old work when i was like 12 years old.

K Arthur90 - March 17, 2009 08:35 PM (GMT)
Lol. XHTML is just more pain in back there when it comes to closing tags. Even <br> tags must be closed!
As for the script, I'll just have to find it (it's on my old HD :() and I'll post the *.py for ya ^_^

starwolf_ftw - March 18, 2009 12:58 AM (GMT)
I have looked over all the applicants and I have made my choice.

K Arthur90 - March 18, 2009 10:11 PM (GMT)
I can't believe this :(
C'mon people, vote!

Runeter2 - March 20, 2009 12:13 PM (GMT)
Just a note! Please check our posts/applications in this topic before voting! Voting for one you know better or just think is cool isn't worth it! Just a warning.

K Arthur90 - March 20, 2009 05:17 PM (GMT)
second post now contains all (four) applications ^_^

Runeter2 - March 20, 2009 06:56 PM (GMT)
Hey Arthur, i got a question. Is this the real voting? Like the winner of this poll are Tech admin?

K Arthur90 - March 20, 2009 09:49 PM (GMT)
Pretty much.

Dude12dragon - March 20, 2009 10:51 PM (GMT)
I personally think that k arthur is the most experinced out of all of them and icewolf looks good to.

I voted for K Arthur but Ice wolf is a close second :)

Redeyes2496 - March 21, 2009 05:13 PM (GMT)

Good luck to the winner.

From the looks of it, congrats goes to Arthur! Good luck man!

Just wondering if anyone could answer this for me... Since Star has been bumped up to Council, does that mean there is an opening for Event Coordinator? Are we doing the same thing for EC as we have and are doing for Tech Admin and Warlord?

ice

starwolf_ftw - March 23, 2009 04:00 AM (GMT)
Event Council is decided by council and leaders, not by the members. So in due time, we'll be accepting applications for the empty spots (2 atm) soon.

K Arthur90 - March 23, 2009 11:02 PM (GMT)
And thanks Ice, but AFAIK I need 50% +1 to get the spot.
At least I was told that
