Title: Should I leave AL?

CyberianWolf - March 10, 2009 11:54 PM (GMT)
Hey Guys,

I'm having thoughts about leaving AL.
I have two issues and I'd like your thoughts.
Granted I haven't been here long, but when I joined we didn't have requirements. Basically like 65 (when I joined) combat. That's why I joined.
Now, I'm feeling a LOT of pressure to become a fighter. All everyone wants to do is jump into a war or a prep fight (which is kool, but not for me) and make me come with. I'd love to learn how to pk, but not in the middle of a war. Maybe 1-1 and not all the time.

My second issue is my problem, not the clans. Lamb and the event coordinators are doing a fabulous job putting events together. Mad props to them! My problem is that the events are almost always scheduled when I have two work. I have two jobs, so I'm always working....my prob. I don't want you guys to start thinking that I won't participate in clan events and I can't even become a full member until I do so many events. At this rate, I'll never become a member. computer
I've been a trial member for almost a month and a half. Most of you know me and I respect your opinions, so I'd like your feedback. Is it better is I just go find some other clan to kick it with? or what? I'm stuck in limbo!

Thanx,
CWolf :jester:

Well, of course, it's not good that you can't make some events :( but you're more than welcome to stay on as a member of the community and come to events as time allows. :P

starwolf_ftw - March 11, 2009 12:40 AM (GMT)
Don't even think about leaving. We  you too much! ;)

Wolf, don't worry about that. We do try to schedule events when most members can be online. Also, participating on contests does counts as an event :).
Also, no one is (at least, shouldn't) be putting pressure on you to become a fighter. I, for example, am a Leet Skilla, and no one pokes me to train combat related skills.
You must be talking about the recent sudden war Kid Damon set up with Kris. Those kinds of war are not oligatory, and you can and should refuse if you don't want to go, as I did myself. I just said to Damon I wouldn't want to fight at that time.
At least, but not last, we could schedule events that you can attend to. What's the best time you have available to play RS? (PS.: I think you said that on your application, right?)

PPS.: AFAICS (As-Far-As-I-Can-See), you are already a full member ^_^

Well, Cyberian, you're of course free to do whatever you want with your Runescape time that you have, but I'm afraid to say that Arthur is wrong on this one (first time in recorded history :P). A war is a mandatory event. Damon wasn't happy today that several people refused to come, and as a result, we got creamed. We're more than a group of individuals: we're a team and it's unfair to the majority of the team if a few people decide not come and ruin the experience for everyone else. We don't require that you attend every event, or anywhere close to that, but wars are a different matter: everyone needs to come to those. :)

Lamb.....This war was incredibly short notice for me, as right when I logged in, Damon FORCED me to go even though I had no supplies and was lagging really bad. Short notice wars shouldn't be mandatory because there was no notification to the rest of the players within an hour!

The wars that are planned for days to be set on a Saturday, sure they are mandatory if you can come. If you got work and such, you shouldn't be punished for something you can't control.

Lamb Bug - March 11, 2009 01:22 AM (GMT)
Well, I'm sorry that was the case. :( :( :( Most players have something they're "doing" at the time, but if it was mandatory for everyone, we wouldn't get a great turnout and what happened today would become more common. Although we can take a formal vote on this, I think, for the reasons stated in my previous post, that all wars should be mandatory.

Obviously, if you have work or something, don't show up, short prep or long prep! :P

starwolf_ftw - March 11, 2009 01:30 AM (GMT)
I say that if we are going to have a short notice war, then we need to know about it one hour ahead of time. It will then be mandatory and that gives us all plenty of prep time. I hate how right when I got to the Tzhaar after I got back from looking from a job, I have to go to a war. Giving us the down low about a future war in the day would solve this issue. Plus if people still didn't go to the war, then they'll be punished. This sound reasonable?

dflame58 - March 11, 2009 02:39 AM (GMT)
hey cyberian when is a good time to hold events for you? we might be able to accommodate you.

and you know that we wouldnt want you to leave because u couldn't attend something.

wow..im pretty sure i didnt force u to go..i remember asking you and putting in a please... but.. if thats forcing then.. ok... and i said punishment should be for like what d flame said.. he made it seem like he was excluded from all wars..

and cyber u should stay.. i didnt mean to put u into situation where u felt like u had to be a fighter.. as most of you know.. i feel that voting is the best thing.. thats why i say vote on everything.. just like in the case of the war... the majority did rule in favor of the war... and i really specifically didnt target you to come anyways (since u didnt even participate in the poll when i asked you directly).. i mean if majority ruled no war.. then we wouldnt have warred... so if u didnt wanna war it would have been best to say that when i asked rather then say nothing... every vote counts just as in a real election and i think non voters in a presidential election would have no right to criticize the president that is selected if it he is not one to their likings. No offense man i say you should stay... and since we said all member below the req were safe.. u shouldnt feel pressured.. we are not putting a time limit on your growth.

starwolf_ftw - March 11, 2009 03:06 AM (GMT)
Sorry Damon, I was not looking forward to the war, but...well I'll explain it in a PM.

You should stay Wolf. :)
